I think my favorite part of this vid is your fast landing and release of the hooked fish. Way to keep the impact low on these gems. Love it.
One of the reasons I want to get a GoPro is to get my fish handling time down. No more fumbling for my iPhone or anything like that. Just hold them up for a second and release.

Haha well there must be some good ice fishing up there right now. It’s funny living down south I’ve been watching ice fishing videos because I can’t do that right now. But I definitely love waking up every morning and it’s nice and warm out hahaha. That’s a big big Tarpon though! I just lost one around 100lbs the other day. Ate a 16” mullet right at the boat!!
just got off the cold, but productive waters here in MD. Cracked a frosty adult soda and drifted away to florida... yellow perch and LMB are no tarpon but I'll take it for December! Great keys trip! Tight lines and merry Christmas brotha!

The canals must be a safe place for young tarpon as they seem to really like them.
Yeah and there is very little oxygen in there so big predators can’t go in there to eat them.

Those tarpon look and jump just like the shad I catch on the north shore of Long Island ! Crazy resemblance.. mouths look similar as well!

Tarpon could be pain in the arse once you get hook on it cause they tend to crash the surface and trashing around messing with your hook and mostly endup they broke off from you.

Hi, Rich. In the absence of live shrimp is there a reason why you wouldn't or couldn't hook a voo-doo shrimp lure with a circle hook the way you would a live shrimp?
I fished the keys for the passed few days, I fished Islamorada and Marathon, I caught barracuda, Jack, and finally caught some big yellow Jack and mangrove snapper. I was praying for a tarpon…. Next time gadget next time
