One thing I found along my 7 day adventures is yes the cement mixer is best for getting fertilizer, but the burnt area with half buildings has lots of toilets I'm part way through the burnt area and have 28 human turds, so if you have to use the turds the burnt area gives good results for turds.
I always avoided the hotel POI but i realized today there are tons of fucking toilets! I have 50 human turds! Plus there are many sinks if you are missing a 600 wrench then its easy after looting the sinks there.
For those of you just now getting to the point of guns in the game the smaller boulders are great for getting gun powder and lead for bullets
I'd love to see a mining tutorial for underground nitrate powder in the frozen or wasteland biome. So far I'm only successful in finding iron veins.
Did you see the FP interview with GNS? Supposedly their current plan is to release a updated X/S version for console next year. That would be nice.
Thank for the unfo! 2 days after I made my 1st farm xD 1 thing you forgot to mention is trees. When growing trees it takes longer to grow if you don't hoe the ground. And u want to wait until the trees have 1200 hp before chopping em to get 2 seeds back. If you live in the desert or plains, growing trees around your base will lower the temperature
They'll give you 2 seeds at 600hp. So if you're just trying to grow your tree farm, you can cut em down at 600.
I avoid planting trees near my base because they increase lag, not as bad as torches though. I usually build them a hundred meters away from my base or so
Best place to find feltizer are the cemeteries. I usually find at least 3 at every cemetery

Cotton and corn are different from the other plants - they give 3 for hoed and 5 for fertilized ground instead of 2 and 4 for everything else.

This was so helpful, and very enjoyable. Farming is second only to exploring for me so very welcome. I hope you do a series some time on how you can play 7d2d WITHOUT zombies! ie the way I play it most of the time! 😁 You can get so much building done if you don’t have to stop to deal with zs all the time!

I didn't know you could find fertilizer in the burnt forest biome, nice. I'll be taking trips there more often.
When I had this game on an old laptop years ago you could put a section of water amidst your garden and it had sort of the same effect as fertilizer, I assume they changed that in one of the updates of this game.
Yeah can’t do that anymore don’t think so. The fertilizer can also be found in coffins also
The amount you harvest isn't random. Corn and cotton always gives 3, the rest are 2. Fertilizer gives you +2.

I'm wondering if you plant on the ground in the burnt forest will it give you 4/5 at harvest? And if you dig up your own fertilized ground will you get the same chance of picking up fertilizer?
Planting in the burnt forest is the same as normal ground. My first farm was in that biom. But I imagine if you plant on a block of fertilized soil it would grow extra...I haven't tried the naturally occurring fertilized soil specifically.
Digging up your own fertilized soil does give back fertilizer.

I am loving your videos. I am trying farming right now, no matter what I do I cannot get to fert the ground. What am I doing wrong? I have it in my inventory, I have the hoe, I have tilled the land and when I do it the 2nd time like you mention nothing happens I still have the fert in my inventory and the ground is not fert. Can you help? Am I not pressing the right button? I am using the right trigger button to till and and then the same to try and fert it and it does not happen. -sad face-
Also, at the start of the game I was able to put 1 pt into Master Chef. Now I can no longer find the skill. Can you help me?
I believe it’s the left trigger that hoes the ground, right trigger “destroys” it. So one hit with the left tills it then the 2nd will be the fertilizer
Also, there is no master chef on console but there are recipes, maybe you read one!
How the hell you can plant into a soil? I cant do that at all. I can plant only into these special "cubes" for plants.
Dig up the dirt and re-craft into grassy soil. Then hoe it and plant away
