Knowing what I know now, I would never play on HCL. Bunch of cheaters and scammers imo. I don't even enjoy watching it anymore thinking that every hand someone is possibly cheating.
Hands like these don't help them. Sure, these hands happen; but it's also pretty well known how many instances of cheating may have occurred there, and further, boat over boat is a classic cheat. You give them a good hand; give your guy the better hand. It baits big pots from the targeted players.
It was actually discussed in the movie; 'rounders'.
Are they cheating here? I don't know; but, I know I'd never call any of their raises if they have that masseuse massaging their shoulders. (There is a high % chance that's at least one of the ways they're cheating - Multiple reasons to believe so).

Online hands are random, but some claim they are 'set for action'. In other words; you're more likely to see straight over straight, flush over flush. Full house over flush, etc.
IDK, on the one hand; I can very easily accept 'bad players blaming anything but their bad play'.
On the other hand; I've played online poker and it does seem like monster hands are extremely common; more so than can be accounted for mathematically.
I've also seen players with 64o go all in preflop and WIN against AA/KK/etc. They had no business being in the pot; why were they? Let's now assume they are total fish. Ok; then we should be able to make money from them...and sometimes; you can. The issue I have is when they go from wild, crazy player, to suddenly playing so tight that you wonder how the hell they ever got the 64o hand in when they're playing so tight.
It really makes you wonder; and then you see people who will raise and reraise with dog crap hands preflop, and what they are really doing is colluding. They're raising, getting some people to call, then they raise and reraise to get as many people out of the pot as possible; then they check the flop, check the turn, and check the river when it's only them in the pot. It's risky, and one good player or risky call can wipe them out, but it's still obnoxious to play against. Every hand becomes 'all in or fold'. You wait for AA/AK/KK etc, then all in with them, but let them do the raising. Hopefully you win; but another aspect is to bring multiple buy ins; if it fails the first time, you're probably going to get it on second or third buy in (if you wait for the golden hand with high % odds in your favor).....and then there are the times where you get AA/KK/AK and they beat you all day with 34o, 73o, 23o etc.
IDK; personally I try to adjust to their playstyle; but I still think raising pre-flop is MOSTLY silly degeneracy.

IDK, but I don't blame him. I think if you get coolered like that; sometimes you need to walk away to avoid tilt. His best +EV play at that point may be to walk away.

bad beats are apart of poker. i just scooped a tourney a few days ago an binked a dudes kings in the final hand with ace 6. bam 700$ in 20 seconds an that was just the bounty. bad beats happen. ill say the robbi shit was beyond sus as fuck and im not saying no cheating has occured but with the mariano hand and this one nothing seems out of the ordinary.
