When you opened the video, I immediately recognized Bradley’s. Starting in 2005 our church youth would come down and help improve people’s houses as best we could. On our first trip down, we painted the house behind one seen at 9:54 timestamp. Behind the white one with the red shutters. We bunked at the Survival Center. We became hreat friends with the Simpsons. Becky Simpson was Bobby’s wife. Her maiden name was Day. Believe she had a twin brothrr named Hiram. Both Bobby and Becky have been called home but I stay in touch with their grandson Bobby Doyle Rowlett. Used to visit with his son Robert when we were in the area. Good people in this neck of the woods. Sadly Covid ended the trips and eventually took Bobby’s life. Thanks for the memory jog. My wife and I need to get back there soon .

Those little stores are fantastic! Each little town in Harlan County has such a great character. Coyotes do a wonderful job of sharing it with us❤❤

Its so nice when you have good memories of your childhood, when I think back to playing in the woods and running around the neighborhood and picking out penny candy out the corner store I am amazed how fast time goes by. Thanks for taking the time to share your memories.

I’m glad she is discussing memories of the past, and how we all cherish our own past.
As for the school, thank you for not converting this video into a paranormal quest to see if that school is haunted.
And, she just HAPPENS to catch a shadow move, or a voice whispering “Get out!”

Actually we never convert our videos into anything except what they are. If they're about a place that people says is haunted or in the case of the cemetery in barbourville is the most haunted cemetery in Kentucky then that's part of what they are and we mention it and talk about it and usually humorously because we don't take that stuff all too seriously but if it is part of a certain places history we're not going to hide the history no more than we're going to add to the history. We simply report the historical facts and what people say about a place. Occasionally we'll say "it's spooky here" I don't think that's converting the video into a paranormal investigation as we have none of the equipment nor do we plan on acquiring any of the equipment to do paranormal investigations.

I grew up in central Alabama during the last of the ‘60s, and throughout the 1970s. My family lived about ten miles north of Montgomery, where I was raised in Elmore County.
I remember those old country stores out in the middle of nowhere. And those ancient gas stations that had: 1) a mechanic on duty, and 2) a black hose on the ground that would “bing-bing” when you drove over it.
The kindergarten school I graduated from in 1970 has since been torn down. Both the elementary and middle schools in Millbrook, Alabama where I attended were closed down years ago.
By the way, in kindergarten, we students had to memorize and recite the Lord’s Prayer, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

@@IgnitedCoyote I was being a little facetious. I like these outdoor videos of old towns, the buildings’ history, U.S. Highways, landmarks, etc.
I just try to throw in some humor and such. My political comments on videos of Joe Biden--not so nice.

We're hoping to be able to get out soon and do more videos of historical places that we've not done before but my wife is the only caregiver for her dad so it's going to take a little planning. Thanks and God bless.

Royal Crown Cola (RC) is my drink of choice! Tastes way better imo than Coca Cola. I remember when it was a choice on many menus at restaurants, way back before all the Chain Restaurants started to take over. I have distant kin folk in Harlan County KY, the Sewells of that area are related to me. 😇
