"The Republic will fall as it always has, a fall that will last millenia." - Darth Traya
Closer to two decades but yeah
Her foresight was extraordinary.
"And this is how liberty dies, by the sound of a thunderous applause"
- PA
It only fell once... After like 20,000 years... Then they made a new one like 50 years later.
I didn't play kotor, so I may have interpreted that quote wrong. Correct me if I did.
Palpatine: I turned the Republicâs army against the Jedi
Revan: So I turn the Jedi against the Jedi
âHuzzah, a man of quality!â
Nilhus: I ate the Jedi
âThe Sith hate this guy! Find out how Revan turned the Jedi against each other in these easy steps!â
đ ±ïžased Revan
Actually, it wasn't their army. It was like a merc army, already paid and bought. Who was programmed by 3rd party for loyalty.
The only persons Palps turned was the Chosen one aka Anakin and Dooku.
What would Anakin have done if after trying to convince Mace to not kill Sheev, Mace goes "you know what, you're right. We can't just kill him. Anakin, help me take him into custody"
He would have listened, and then Windu would have convinced him by saying he could question Palpatine to figure out how to save Padme.
@@toby1061 Then Palpatine would have probably found a way to trick Anakin during questioning, causing him either to fall to the Dark Side or allow him to escape, or both. However, the Jedi would be far more prepared, and Order 66 would be a marginal success at best (with the best of the Jedi escaping) and a total failure at worst. After that, lacking the power for a conventional war, the Jedi would have fought in the shadows, using secret allies and guerrilla tactics rather like those of the Rebel Alliance, though they would have started faster and had more initial success due to the numerous powerful and experienced Jedi and the fact that they could get a great deal of aid from the Separatists before they were completely defeated (like the last phase of the Second Galactic Civil War). This war would have ravaged the galaxy for a long time, though hopefully not long enough to get interrupted by the Yuuzhan Vong (though it's possible that the social changes that the Jedi caused the first time around would have happened then, resulting in an eventual victory for the Jedi and their army of Empire and Vong rebels and complete restructuring of the galaxy), and the result would be a completely changed galaxy, likely with the Jedi more integrated in the government than even in the post-Pius Dea era. Maybe something like the Jedi Lords of the New Sith Wars--certainly the Reformed Army of Light would have played a major role in their victory--or like the Fel Empire with its Force-sensitive Emperor and Imperial Knights tasked with the defense of said Emperor and his/her replacement in the event of a fall to the Dark Side. This could also have caused a slippery slope, resulting in widespread fall and a Second Galactic Civil War, and if we wanted to make this as fun as possible, the remaining Jedi Faithful could have allied with the surviving Mandalorians, reforming the Mandalorian Knights but with better morality and theology, and possibly helping reform the Mandalorians into a people who only fight for righteous causes, of which the Star Wars Galaxy has no shortage.
Alternately, the Jedi might have hastily reformed the Army of Light and launched a direct attack on Darth Sidious, like Operation Nightfall but in reverse. If Anakin was with them, they likely would have succeeded, though at the cost of their credibility and likely most of their number. If Anakin fell, he might have tipped the balance in the Sith's favor, resulting in the OT Rebel Alliance having more power and possibly more Force-users (though they might all have been slaughtered by suitless Vader), but no major differences to the storyline except better-informed New Jedi Order founding members--if Vader survived his redemption, he would have met his end at the hands of New Republic justice due to the many atrocities he committed, which might have established a precedent resulting in the similar death of Kyp Durron, the guy with the largest killstreak of any Legends character and similar to that of the First Order gunner on Starkiller Base.
Either way, they would have had to deal with Abeloth and the Lost Tribe of the Sith at some point, though if Mace Windu or his teachings survived, Vaapad could have made short work of these threats (Mace might be able to solo the entire Lost Tribe, especially if Abeloth was in the fight as well). It could also play into the later fall of the Jedi Empire into yet another Sith Empire, and made the combat in that era markedly different from all previous Sith-Jedi conflict (that and Mandalorian tactical knowledge making them realize that Force Light is the most effective offensive weapon the Jedi have, and making sure all Knights use it as their first line of defense against Darksiders).
Thank you for reading through this long comment, I hope you had as much fun imagining these scenarios as I did.
The thing is, Palpatine was only pretending to be beaten.
@@ericpowell4350 I don't want to cause a fan fight but as I'm not that up on the lore. Is this a statement based on official statements by writers of the movies, taken from the full script notation of the movie, or from an official guide. Or is it more of a personal opinion or something based on legends/ old cannon material. Personally I believe that Canon isn't really a thing to fight over. You can personally have whatever Canon you want by considering what you want as part of your personal starwars. But I'm trying to write a series of short what if stories based entirely on official current Canon material.

Itâs wild to think Revenge of The Sith happened in only like four days
Well no, Padme was in the early stages of her pregnancy at the beginning and she gives birth at the end, so most likely 7-9 months time
I think if we take into account travel time in between different worlds, ROTS technically lasted a week or two.
Romeo and Juliet barely lasted 3
@@naggu1243 No, the original commentor is correct - it's only four days. She's at the very end of her pregnancy when she first tells Anakin because they hadn't seen each other in six months.
It didn't. Anakin was away for around 5 months and he by all given logic must've knocked Padme up shortly before he left, meaning when he returned she was around 5-6 months pregnant at best, so either the twins came way to early or the movie takes place within at least several weeks if not months, and judging how much bigger Padme's stomach had gotten on Mustafar compared to the early scenes on the night Anakin had returned there is seemingly some time between them.
Seeing the exact chronology of the Republic's fall like this feels like watching a loved one slowly turn into a zombie after being bitten

The Republic died the day Palpatine was elected and Dooku left the Order. Everything past that point was simple detail.
I beg to differ. It doed when qui gon was killed.
@@themasterninja110 yea but that was all part of sheevs plan so yea it died when Palps was elected
@@fulcrum7455 when qui gon died. Qui gon couldbe prevented it all and given anakin proper training. Qui gon was the key
@@themasterninja110 I'm afraid you are wrong for a myriad of reasons. Not least of which is that Palpatine had been elected before Jinn's death, he now held the reigns of power and could use that to his full advantage. Dooku as well was already more or less under his sway. Anakin was the apprentice Palpatine chose, but he wasn't a prerequisite in any way for the rise of the Empire or Palpatine. Whether Jinn lives or dies is completely irrelevant to that, since the Republic still falls under Palpatine's sway, he and Dooku still orchestrate the Clone Wars, the Republic still uses the Grand Army and therefore Order 66 can happen any time Palpatine or Dooku wish to implement it. Jinn's not the key, he's just another pawn on a board. It's also not realistic in any way that Jinn living equals Anakin not falling to the Darkside. It was Jinn who left Anakin's mother on Tatooine, Jinn who encouraged Anakin to build relationships and Jinn's teaching style that was used by Kenobi later, all of which contributed to Anakin falling to the Darkside through the fear of loss born from his mother being left behind and eventually dying, his relationships and attachments with Padme and Palpatine and Jinn's disagreements with the Council as well as his links with Dooku which would all have pushed Anakin into frustration with the Jedi. Finally, let's not forget, Jinn saved Jar Jar Binks, who would become a Senator and eventually petition to give Palpatine emergency powers.
So no, Jinn isn't some magic button that fixes everything, many of his decisions actively caused many of the problems in the saga.
@@grandadmiralzaarin4962 quit reading once you said gin living doesn't equate anakin not falling. That's exactly what it means. The duel in episode 1 is duel of the fates. Anakins fate. At least it didn't die of sadness.
*American Patriots 1865, 1990.
"So this is how Liberty dies- with THUNDEROUS applause."
Many events would unfold over the next few days:
- Jedi General Depa Billaba is killed on Kaller by her clone troopers. Her Padawan, a Human boy named Caleb Dume, escapes thanks to the inaction of most of the members of Clone Force 99, also known as the Bad Batch, who receive Order 66 with a healthy degree of utter confusion. (One of their number, Crosshair, will attempt to carry out the order, but fail to do so.)
- The Bad Batch return to Kamino, are assigned by Admiral Tarkin to suppress an insurrectionary force on Onderon, and fail THAT mission when they discover that their targets are not a squad of droids, but a group of Republic-aligned fighters under the leadership of Saw Gerrera.
- Ahsoka Tano and Clone Captain Rex depart for parts unknown.
- Republic Senator Padmé Amidala departs for Mustafar to locate her husband, former Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, now operating under the Sith title of Darth Vader. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi stows away aboard Amidala's ship, hoping the Senator can lead him to Vader.
- Padmé Amidala learns the horrible truth about Skywalker's betrayal upon arrival at Mustafar, and when Kenobi reveals himself, Skywalker chokes his pregnant wife almost to death.
- Jedi Grandmaster Yoda engages Emperor Sheev Palpatine in a furious lightsaber duel in the Senate chamber on Coruscant. At nearly the same moment, Kenobi and Vader engage in an even more dramatic and brutal duel on Mustafar that sees destruction wrought to the former Separatist base with every step. Palpatine will defeat Yoda, though the ancient Jedi manages to escape. Kenobi, however, savagely defeats Vader by assuming the high ground and using his better position to cut off three of Vader's limbs and leaving the Sith to burn alive.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi takes Padmé Amidala to the Polis Massa system, home to a cutting-edge medical facility. Bail Organa rescues Yoda, and the two rendezvous with Kenobi at Polis Massa. There, Padmé gives birth to twin children, a boy and a girl respectively. Padmé names them Luke and Leia, and, having struggled to tell Kenobi that she thinks there's still some sliver of good in Anakin, dies at the ripe old age of 27. She will be laid to rest on her homeworld of Naboo.
- As Padmé lays dying, Palpatine takes what is left of Vader to a surgical reconstruction center on Coruscant. There, a life-support suit is built to encase Vader in to keep him alive and in great pain, fueling his new Dark abilities. Vader almost destroys the equipment around him when he is informed that his beloved wife Padmé is dead.
- The Bad Batch are arrested upon return to Kamino and briefly imprisoned, before escaping Kamino aboard their ship minus Crosshair (who has remained with the Empire) but gaining a new member in the mysterious little Human girl known only as Omega.
The Galactic Empire has arisen.

@@geetslys Emperor Geetsly, what a pleasant surprise
The Senate contributed to the Republicâs fall. In return, he brought about the Empire.
does either canon or legends have concrete numbers on flight time between coruscant and mustafar, using a class 1 hyperdrive ring? granted, Padme's ships usually had considerably faster hyperdrives so we can consider that too
Hyperspace travel moves at the speed the plot demands. I love Star Wars, but never try to apply too much hard science to a franchise that thought "12 parsecs" was a measurement of time instead of distance.
It's unknown how fast palpatine or padmes ships were. But we do have some numbers to show how ludicrous hyperdrives are in star wars. Millennium falcon travels at 1041.66 light years per hour. The star wars galaxy is 100k light years across. To travel from the center of the core to the very edge of the galaxy would take Han 48hrs.
Courescant wasnt in the deep core and Mustafar was in the outer rim, but it wasn't the furthest reaches of the outer rim. Space in general is mostly empty space spread out far the further from the center you go. Look at how large our Oort cloud is compared to the rest of the solar system or look at how far the outer planets are apart compared to inner ones
You could slice off half of that 50k light year radius and itd still make sense. Thats 24hr by Millennium falcon but we're talking a senator known for having very fast starships and the emperor moving in a hurry. Hyperspace travel is also restricted by the presence of hyperspace lanes which will make things difficult for a civilian like Han who doesn't know of those lanes. Palpatine knew of many secret hyperspace lanes within the galaxy and possessed the force along with near instantaneous communication throughout the galaxy allowing him to open up straight shots with no traffic
I'd say between 6hrs and 24hrs is fair given the circumstances. It really doesnt matter how long it took the emperor though since it's well established that dark side users can survive indefinitely after suffering mortal wounds just due to sheer anger and rage. Palpatine couldve jaunced over there a week later and ani would still be kicking. Darth scion was nowhere near as powerful as Ani and he was pretty much a zombie by the end with thousands of breaks in his bones
Padme and Obi wan couldve easily taken off while anikan was still in transit and landed right after anikan killed the council.
Anikan also couldve chilled on mustafar for awhile after killing the council since he only had orders to go to mustafar but had not received orders to return. Vader mightve been needed elsewhere, so why go back after killing them? Palpatine was busy and unable to gives subsequent orders at the time.
Time wasn't really a factor in either of those things even though it seems like it should be
@@TheManFromWaco star wars has always had a problem with scale but they explained the parsecs thing. The kessel run runs through the Maw cluster. Kessel is a spice mine planet and getting in there using the run allows smugglers to avoid more patrolled lanes. The maw is a series of black holes. Usually you have to navigate around each black hole. The closer you get to the black holes the harder it is on a ship. To make the run in only 12 parsecs means putting your ship under a lot of stress and requiring you to speed through very quickly

Wait, wait wait wait wait wait... Gunray sent the shutdown order to his armies because Sidious told him to? What level of stupidity is that?!?
You think conquered worlds (in the fiction that the CIS won) would meekly accepted their fate, that the populations wouldn't need garrisoning? I agree confusion would defanlty take hold, within days the end of the clone wars, Order 66 and the genoside against the Jedi and Palpatine declaring himself as emperor and the reorganisation of the galaxy into the Empire.
Love your vids
Tysm!
You can't do the same thing both literally and figuratively đ The writers must have thought this boring text needs a banger ending

Have nobody notice Skywalker was in that same situation twice but pick his son the second time. Geestly that a video comparing the first time back the second time maybe!
12:07 I can't believe they found out that Anakin was responsible..... I thought he was a whiny brat with no responsibility for anything, but I guess he is better than that !!! :D
Windu should've sent Anakin to the far side of coruscant. Windu would've killed palpatine had Anakin been a few minutes late.
Not even a few minutes. Windu needed 30 extra seconds.
For the Empire!
Looks like obiwan is poking his head out of his ear
