I have a 96 F350, 7.3, LB, CC, all stock. Purchased new , 64k miles to date !
Always loaded with 11' camper, stocked with supplies , that's all it does is go camping !

Well not completely stock, it is a duelley, air bags, satellite oil cooler + 4 qts. , bi- pass oil filtration , super chip, billet torque converter, high flow air and exhaust, factory OEM ambulance package, Alcoa aluminum wheels, full tinted dark, side steps, blue tooth & satellite radio , rubber bed mat , and its 2whl. drive, auto .

The OBS 7.3 was the peak of modern Ford trucks. And a 4WD, crew cab, long bed is perfection. Like others have said, in that config, with those miles, that is a 10-15k truck all day long. Awesome score. Will definitely be following along on this one

JustJay 0312 agreed. I looked for one for over a year at a reasonable price and couldn’t find one. Ended just putting that money as a down payment on a newer truck

@ALSO-RAN ! well for having worked on these models and years for very long in my garage i'll tell you that working on them prevented me from buying one . Jesus their front power train and suspensions were worth shit no matter the size they were .Never change so many manual locks and front differencial and U-joints in my entire life . Ho did i forget the Radius bushings ?

Hard to believe this is your start on CZcams. Plus the fact you still have that truck. You have well over 3 million subscribers. Which makes a lot of money and you’re still very humble. I hope you keep that track for the rest of your life. Not only the fact that itis one of the best workhorse trucks ever made in my opinion. But that video changed your life.

I had a 92 saturn sl1 that had 190k on it, with the diesel engine he might be able to get the motor up to about 4-500k. I agree though, it's a great buy!

Wow! One of my absolute favorites. I drove a brand new one as a test drive from a dealer back in 1995. It wasn´t exactly cheap. And you know what: Here in Sweden in 2019 you would get 15 times of what you paid. Congratulations to a very lovely car.

I'm a gm guy but that's my favorite body stile I would take that truck over a new one I drove my wife's dads 97 F250 from wenatchee to Seattle and loved it.

I'm from Saudi Arabia and we have a 96 crew cab in our farm for 14 years now. It's white, 4WD , all manual and has the gas 5.8. This beauty is a beast and has done some very serious duties.
Can't wait every weekend to get behind the steering wheel and feel good.

I called a tow truck to open my 1999 7.3 (daughter locked the keys in) Guy shows up and asks me if I want to sell it to the tow company. Said they were premium.

Personally I really like the utilitarian look of the older trucks and wouldn't change much. A utilitarian looking bumper with a winch and some LED lights might look good, as well as some reverse/bed lights. Other than that it's a sharp looking truck in it's own way and doesn't need much.

@@deepsix1827 then way does my father in law have a 2000 7.3 with 475k on it and it has NEVER been overhauled? The biggest item he has had replaced was the Trans at 430k. They only thing he has an issue with is the Glow plugs at the moment which is solved by plugging in block heater when it goes below 40.

Mine is a 97 f250 7.3 ,white short bed 238,000 ,lift about the same as yours. Luv my dam truck.

At work we had a 450 7.3 with a pto driven vacuum unit, we ran it hard for 25 yrs and very little trouble and thousands of running hrs, it was a great unit. Good luck with your truck, you've got a winner.

AMAZING auction find and buy! That motor is barely broke in too! Good thing about a lot of government auctions is that when something is broken on them, they are usually sent to the shop ASAP to keep them working. And they usually get their maintenance done on time as well!

There’s an ole Man across the creek from me that has a beautiful Red Ford 4x4 7.3 identical to the one you got but this one is show room quality. He bought it New with Cash & hardly drives it. 1. Absolutely keep those real Alcoa truck wheels and polish them up.
2. Sterilize that bed and armor coat with 1/4'in thick. Top rails too!
3. If equipped, remove the turbo ring on tje intake side of the turbocharger for lots of turbo sound.
4. Do you have a PTO? If yes, put a hydrolic winch on front with bumper.
What an absolute steal, it doesn't get any better than that.

Buy new carpet from RockAuto, and do a roll in bed liner and just drive it and enjoy it.
NPD or LMC Truck will have complete carpet kits for the OBS . Dennis Carpenter reproductions may have the carpet as well .

I think this was the Best looking truck ford ever made. A modern enough looking truck with old school classic lines. My favorite by far. I remember being around 20 years old daydreaming about these when they were brand new. My local dealership had a bring red 4x4 crew cab single rear wheel on their lot. I'd obsess over it!

Yeah you got a damn steal there bro...140k miles...mines got 300k...so that engine is good to go...that tar is cold patch...it will come out with some panel bright and a hot pressure washer...I work with the county here we use that stuff to patch pot holes, I would clean it up, service it up, put a set of good medium grip all terrains, drive it like it is, cause knowing you only got a grand in it and you driving it that way is worth more than all the money you could toss at it.
Leveling kit with the polished wheels on 33s with a spray in bed liner fresh coat of paint and a new grill
Put adjustable shocks on the front if you want to level the front end. I dont like shackles. Reduce travel.
That is how me and my old man bought a 83 fireback f150 6S in a gov auction... been a snazzy truck for years, plan to turn it into a flat deck bush truck this year. Nice find my dude, decent content as always.
Bedliner and that bed is fixed same with rails. Small touch up paint. Truck is in great condition. Amazed at how many people go with market value instead of what the truck is worth. Fantastic find sir.
