  • The RX8 is the newest MRX interface from Zaxcom. Two MRX-414 wireless audio receivers can be installed into it for 8 channels. In Dante mode, an addition 8 channels of AES can be fed into it making this a 16 channel interface. It also includes 4 sends to physical analog outputs on the unit. It can operate as a standalone 8 channel wireless receiver unit, or as a very comprehensive Dante audio gateway between a film set and broadcast truck or trailer.

As a Level 2 cert, this is exciting considering my first job on a set happened last month. What I did is ant-sized compared to a Goliath of a setup this video presents!

Thank you for watching my video. Analog recorders like the Nagra’s were certainly the first location sound revolution, the introduction of digital recorders would have been the second revolution. We are certainly in the midst of the 3rd generation and it is fascinating to be even an ant-sized part of it.

Omg Eric you are such a “chilled out” ball of energy, I love it. 👍 I want to see the directors cut of all the cool stuff you have cooked up in your lab and put in this cart, please. I know this video could have been much longer. Great stuff, thanks

This was all adlib, filmed and edited by me- the directors cut would probably be in the flavor of Winnebago Man czcams.com/video/WDQQfBrSUs0/video.html
The industrial automation world is moving into Industry 5.0 which would be the 5th revolution. I believe that the location sound industry is in the midst of its 3rd revolution. We are seeing a lot of integration between devices that would be completely foreign if we could send todays gear back in time 10 years. There is an entirely new world to explore if we begin to integrate hardware from the industrial automation world (Wago, Nextys, PULS, Allen-Bradley, etc). The Warmonger cart is powered completely by industrial automation modules and the PC that runs parallel with the Zaxcom NOVA is an industrial device designed for hard environments. Industrial automation components are readily available, affordable, easy to configure, and are built to incredibly high specifications.

Thanks Eric, I'm new to production sound and am currently running analogue for my wireless.....Zaxcom has just changed the game for me on the wireless front !. Thanks for the video dude I really enjoyed it. Being a maker myself I also get a kick out of my merging of different industries to get the desired end result. cheers from the UK !
