Keep coming back to this particular performance for the slightly out-of-tune intro to the final section of the guitar solo, after the wild strumming part. Melts my brain every time.
this song is one of my favorite if not my favorite SY song from their entire career. what a great line up this was, great line up... I would hope that Kim's bass was really loud and deep like on the studio version.
one of their best songs ever.
I can't help wondering what Thurston might've said to Steve Irwin...
Sonic Youth, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Steve Irwin chatting on a late night stage. 2004 was awesome.
This was a great performance...Thurston's wild strumming at 3:04 sounds even cooler here than on the album version
steve irwin shaking hands with sonic youth. incredible.

なんとも言えない浮遊感。中毒性ありやな。
I can hear Neil Young singing this
3:25 Thurston kneeling way down and is the same height as the other three... lol
Thurston serioiusly looks no older in this video than he did in, say, 1988.
They definitely wrote some great albums with him. It's tough to top their late 80s output, but Sonic Nurse is definitely in my top 5 SY albums.

they seemd at their best with Jim O'Rourke, in my humble opinion
Agreed!
Holy shit, that was my 2013 self. I went thru a heavy Sonic Youth phase back then. Bringing it back to 2021.
🤝
I love Moore's guitar
It got stolen a while back :(
HOLY SHIT thurston is 46 in this ??
One of my favorites songs
I like this performance better than the one on Conan.
anyone else miss jim?
Man i miss SY as a whole u.u
Look who's come back home again
Loser looking for his lucky break
This time he says he just needs a friend
Ain't on the run he ain't on the take
Can you take this door babe
Will you just undo the chain
Will you take your time before you
Mix up love, his love and pain
Loneliness lays down his head
Wants to get you high, better take it now
A man like that's like an unmade bed
Stained eyes searching for another way out
Does it matter if you even want this
Maybe you just don't care
All I know it takes just one kiss, babe
For you, he's never there
Hey I know it's kinda hard
And maybe this time it will never end
Hit and run lover back in your heart
Answered prayers you should never have sent
Cause now that your in his arms babe
You know your just in his way
Suckered by his fatal charm, oh girl
It's time we get away
