I did end up splitting up the red (acc) wire and yellow (+12v) wire as this head unit has no memory whatsoever without a constant 12 volts being applied to the yellow wire.
Thanks for sharing. I opted for the non-marine model for my 02 Dodge Ram 2500 w/cummins. Had to run new wiring but it's all good. This is an excellent stereo. It was hard to come across since Sony is the only company it seems putting out a unit with a built-in amplifier.... and at a reasonable price.
I know this is old but i was looking for these and 1 i almost had and it got sold and i found one today thats coming in monday got my deposit down, other shop said they dont know when theyre getting more and i cant find any online. From what i was told there isnt basically any head unit that competes
I bought this and installed it in my 2012 limited,I'm no radio expert so do you have suggestions on setting it up. There are so many different adjustments it's hard to figure out. I've got hog tunes in front and r m in rear both 2 amp.
I’m looking to upgrade the boss receiver and 6.5s in my Honda pioneer. I want the best sound from the simplest system. Will this work well connected to four 6.5 speakers?
Did you use the rear USB port ? I want to mount a waterproof USB port into the motorcycle dash and connect to the supplied USB port . Will any waterproof USB port be compatible with the radio ? Thanks
Nice head unit just need yellow wire directly to the battery and black wire directly to chassis ground that way amplifier does not burn out cannot pull all power through the red wire you may burn out your fuse box or ignition accessory
When I turn my bike to accessory my hand controls work… plugged a data chord into the back usb but it just says no device.. when I first plugged it in it worked. I crank my bike and my hand controls won’t work… any help from any is helpful…. Thanks!
Connect the yellow wire with a good thick wire to the battery.. cuz this unit consumes a lot more power and so when the base hits at high volume it can shut off.
Nice, but you don't play it really loud where it can disturb others, do you? You seem like a nice guy. I don't think you would do what people do in front of my house.
Works as a truck stereo :-P I opted for this because I don't have a lot of room in my cab and didn't want to go through a bunch of rewiring and mounting a new amp in addition to the 10" sub I have installed under the front-center bench seat. I'm running kickers... 6x9 100watt RMS. You'll be happy with this unit. Just expect to run a wire from your battery to the unit (way easier than setting up a separate amp for your door speakers) and add an inline fuse which are all off the shelf pieces from your local auto parts store. I'm not looking for a banging system all the time (I just like a system that can get fairly loud and sound good), but this head unit will handle it. I like my doors open on the truck sometime when I'm off the beaten path or working outside so I can hear the tunes outside the vehicle. Yes, it works as a car stereo to answer your question. You can pick the non-marine version up on Amazon for about $228 and tax sold through Amazon.

How's it been holding up? I'm on the fence about getting that head unit

I was told that id have to run a bigger ground for the built in amp
Nice radio. Biggest complaint is settings. The menu system is horrible.
Have you had success with using Bluetooth?

What the difference between sony Marine And sony non Marine???
From what I understand, basically a few sealed components. Not much difference honestly.
@@camplife2687 ok thanks..
Did you ever get this thang to pair up
Oh ya, no problems.

Your gonna need to run a direct power wire to the battery or it will shut off on you at high levels.
It's already been done, as mentioned.
