  • Minswap has upgraded to version 2 of its protocol, and anyone with liquidity in version 1 of its DEX is encouraged to upgrade to version 2, as more and more trades will start to flow through those smart contracts compared to version 1.
    Fees generated will go to wherever the trades are done, and if that isn't the pool you're in, then you will miss out.
    This tutorial will take you through why we need to migrate, the benefits of migrating, some things to keep in mind and how to do it automatically or manually.

    hey, is it mandatory to migrate and if not, does it effect existing farm pool?

    • @LearnCardano
      @LearnCardano  Před 2 dny

      No its not, but if you don't, you may miss out on fees as most of the trades will go through V2 rather than V1.

    Is it fair to say that if you have larger lp positions and didn't migrate them over manually, this process could take longer than you think? I can see the V2 lp positions, I just can't stake them yet. Kind of frustrating but trying to be patient.

      It might yes. The large positions would have been divided into small chunks to migrate over to not have a massive price impact or be affected by slippage.
      You ideally want it to move from one to the other all at the same price.
      Doing it manually would have allowed you to take into account the amount of tokens and make sure the same amount went back in all in one go and force the process through.
      Watch the orders as it may have slipped out or price range during the migration and you will need to cancel and do it again. I'd say manual is best in your situation.

      @@LearnCardano Thanks mate. I've been so busy with work, I just kind of "did it" without looking into it. I appreciate your timely response. I assumed (wrongly) that it would just happen in an instant. I've been in Cardano since late 2017 and MIN since the beginning. I think I'll be alright, but sometimes that unknowing is extremely nerve racking. Keep up the great work, I've always enjoyed your content. Cheers!

      It’s one rule I always try and follow. If I’m too tired or too busy I don’t touch crypto. That’s when I make mistakes.
