  • Hi Prepsters, this is Ola with a Pandemic Prepsters. Well, I have been sick recently with a stomach bug and I was starting to feel like eating and nothing taste better than chicken noodle soup. However, I did not feel like making it from scratch. So I took my freeze dried stuff that I haven’t some in mylar bags and some and mason jars and made dinner. This literally took me less than 15 minutes from start to finish, and I had a delicious chicken noodle soup that you would never have known wasn’t just made that day that all of this stuff is freeze, dried in advance.
This was a serving for two my husband did half seconds, and then polished off the rest. He really enjoyed this dinner.
    2 tablespoons oil
    1/2 cup FD onions
1 heaping cup of FD chicken
1 cup veggies of your choice
1 cup elbow macaroni (or your choice of pasta
    1/2 Tablespoon chicken bouillon
    2 tsp Italian seasoning
    Salt and pepper to taste
To reconstitute you will need 6 to 8 cups water. I used 6 and barely any broth in my soup.
If adding other veggies like mushrooms give them more time to reconstitute.
    Directions
Add sure oil to your pan and get the oil, hot, once hot add in your freeze, dried onions. Stirring continuously to make sure it doesn’t burn, but that the onions get fully covered in the oil. I added 1/2 tablespoon of garlic and I stirred well to incorporate. Once that is incorporated into the onions, I added my water to my pot. I bring that to a boil cover as needed.
Once your water is at a full boil, I will add my pasta noodles, if I’m using mushrooms I would also add mushrooms here. Once my pastor was cooking for about 5 to 6 minutes, that is when I added the chicken, vegetables and seasonings. Cover and return to boil for another five or so minutes making sure your noodles are fully cooked.
Now the hard part I get to enjoy this.
Well, I hope you have a wonderful day, but a better tomorrow!
    Happy prepping,
    Ola
