- This video shows my technique for making Drop Swirl cold process soap. This is also my entry for the Challenge Club/Saponification Nation Drop Swirl Challenge in January 2019. Stick around for the soap cutting. Please turn the volume down and bear with me while I learn video editing.
Music will be addressed in future videos-no need to comment on that.
This is an advanced soap making technique. If you have never made cold process soap, please research soap making basics, especially lye safely. Here is a video about lye safety. • How to Make Cold Proce...

Your videos make me wanna leave the office as early as possible so I can start making soaps at home. Love your clean style!
Aww...so good to hear! 😊✨💖
Hi! Just wanted to say I really appreciate the clean and exact nature of your process! Definitely soothing to the brain 🧠 of us chemical lab/engineer types. 😁👍Thanks for sharing your artwork!
I've been soaping for about 5 yrs now, but only as a hobby for my family and friends.
I love this drop swirl colour and technique, so I had a go at making it.
I used a citrus fragrance called yuzu that behaved really well. I couldn't believe it while cutting my bars they turned out just like yours. Only difference is I put a citrus embed on top. It is the most beautiful soap I've ever made. I wish I could show you a photo.
That's so good to hear! Thanks for letting me know, Diana! 💕
Nicely done! Love it. Congrats on winning the challenge. ❤️ Jen
I've learned so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing your beautiful techniques with us.
Absolutely LOVE this design and the colors you used. Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome, Michelle!
The music is sooo whimsical. I love it! Makes me smile all through this vid.
Thank you very much! 😊
Beautiful design and done with such loving care. I can see why you enjoy bevelling the soap at the end, it is relaxing even just to watch.
Thank you Irene! 😊
that's the coolest-looking soap i've ever seen!
Aww...thank you so much! 💚✨💛
I love this technique. Thank you. My soaps came out wonderful!! And about to sell out.
Love your work and the way you show your process…I’ve learned so much from you…thank you for all you do for us ❤️
This is very nice. I just started making soap two weeks ago and it is wonderful. I grew up watching my mom make soap from old grease. It had no soul or even bubbles. I have outdone her. My soap is wonderful and I am brand new to the art.
Thank you for the technique. I just made some pure coconut oil soap to be used in my homemade liquid laundry detergent recipe, replacing the Fels Naptha I normally use. I can hardly wait to do what you have done but using colored micas instead because that is what I have.
You will just love it! So many possibilities! 🌳
I want to thank you. I just just tried this technique. My soap turned out superb!! Thank you again.
Wonderful! Thanks for letting me know!
Fantastic technique! Thank you for sharing your skills!
Thank you so much! 💖
Your soaps are so beautiful. Love how you got the swirls to appear outlined in the black. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much!
I just keep watching this! It's so nice.
😊
Thank you so much for all of your videos! They are so wonderful to watch. You are truly an artist! I plan to start making my own soaps in the next month or so and you have helped me a lot :)
Inspirational! Beautiful!
Thank you so much!
I guess people don't know where the mute button is! Excellent video! Thank you for sharing!
LOL! I wanted to say that so bad! 😂 Thank you, so glad you like it! 😊💖✨
I agree. There is no need to make someone you don't even know really, feel bad when they're CLEARLY still getting the hang of things. I personally found the music kind of soothing.
Absolutely Beautiful Design for sure! ML!
Thank you so much! 💖✨
So beautiful, Teri!! I love your technique! Thank you for sharing!! Really great video!
Thank you so much Amy! ✨ It takes me forever to edit these, but I am learning lots. 💖
Felicidades! maravillosa técnica
Thanks so much! 😊
Awesome!! Great drop swirl. ❤❤❤
Thank you Judy! ✨
Wow, this soap looks amazing. I wouldn't have expected it to turn out this way seeing the way you did it. Very interesting.
I absolutely love your videos!!! I have learned so much from you, but I like the videos where you talk through it without the music. I learn a lot more when you explain steps.
Awesome! Thank you! I was still learning when I made this video.
I actually like the music though. And your soaps are beautiful!
Thanks so much! I don't think it was too bad. 🤭
I love the music! Sounds fun! Thanks for the video!
Very cool 😊 I like how the thin black emphasises the different colour swirls.
Thanks so much, Susan! I need to make some more drop swirls. So many designs, so little time...💛❣💚
This is so incredibly pretty!!!!
I love this technique. Thank you so much for sharing :)
So glad you like it! I need to make some more drop swirls, myself! 💚
Beautiful soap! The music was very soothing.

Really fabulous and inspiring video. thank you for sharing.
That soap is the definition of artisan…. takes talent, practice and skill…. Also… by the way, charming background music that did not make me nauseous at all 😘 !
Thank you, Lol!😘💕

Beautiful!
this is so cleverly done if I may say 🤩
Outstanding!
Thank you! A written tutorial of this soap will be posted later today here: www.elementsbathandbody.com/Soap/
i only recently discovered your channel, and subsequently, joined your facebook group. i have to say, i really appreciate how tidy you are about all of this soap making. on top of that, i really like how clean your soap designs turn out. your precision and habits are something i'm going to strive to copy, particularly after having watched a few other soap making videos by other people (one mixing her colors willy nilly, and slinging soap and lye all over her kitchen!). cheers!
ah, the commercial art background. that explains a lot. :D
Welcome aboard! I like to be precise! It's not for everyone, but I like it because if I know how much I used, then I will be able to repeat it or alter it from the original.
This is gorgeous
I love it
Thank you!
Wow this is so cool! I hope one day I can get to this stage :)
Thank you so much, Debbie! This was a fun one! 💚❣💛
I really love your soaps! I wish I dad your talent.
Thanks so much, Christina! 😊
I am very impressed with your editing and the music was fine but the soap was SUPERB!!! Loved it, great job!
Thank you so much Renee! I sure appreciate your feedback as well! 😊
Just subscribed and you have a new fan! Love your work!
Aww...thank you Bee! The feeling it mutual! You are so talented! 😘💕💖
@@TreeMarieSoapworks How did I NOT know you before? :D
@@sorcerysoap LOL, I found out about you years ago when I started soaping. My friend sent me a picture of your soap with the chicken and grass on top. We just got chickens and I just started soaping. I bought a sculpting kit from you a few years ago when Amy featured Soap Dough for the Soap Challenge. You can see my succulents here. facebook.com/pg/TreeMarieSoapworks/photos/?tab=album&album_id=546498158807664
@@TreeMarieSoapworks Oh my gosh! The succulents are amazing! Well done!
@@sorcerysoap Thank you Bee! 💖
Great video!
Thank you! 🌸
Waw it is soooooo beautiful dear if I have that piece of soap I would not dare to use it I would put it in a glass box just to look at it 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you Rawa! 😊
Congratulations 💐👑🍾🏆🥇
Aww...thank you Tracey! 🌷💖✨
Sei bravissima e i tuoi saponi sono opere d'arte
Thank you so much! 😘💕
I love your videos and soaps. I’m watching all of them. Kinda like binge watching Game of thrones, only better 😂🤣
Lovely,I like it💕💕
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful
Really helpful
Absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for sharing :)
Have you ever tried the hot process soap making?
Thank you so much! I make a few hot process soaps for my normal line, but I love the artistic side of soap making, so cp soap works better for that.
Beautiful ASMR
I adore your videos and now I’m on your FB community soap page and love it. Would this recipe me ok if I swapped the lard for palm oil? Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos. So inspiring and helpful. X
Man this music is hypnotizing
thank you for this beautiful soap Can you tell me if it takes a light or medium or thick trace (paste) to achieve this marbling?
great job
Thanks!
Nice design. 😍👍
Thanks so much! 💚
Absolutely beautiful video, the music made me feel nauseous tho
Thank you! So sorry about the music! Do you prefer voice in video? I am still trying to figure this out. Thank you for your feedback. 💖
You aren’t the only one. I had to mute it. However, the video was gorgeous.
Thank you Kim! Sorry about the music. I have learned master volume since then. It won't be so loud in future videos and I hope to make more voice over videos. Thanks for your feedback! 😊💕
@@TreeMarieSoapworks My problem with the music was that it was the same few seconds just repeating over and over and over and over and over again. It became too much. Music needs to change here and there to keep from creating an unpleasant feedback in the brain.
@@TreeMarieSoapworks Awesome video but like the others mentioned, try mixing up your music. There are some really good royalty free sound libraries on the internet. Maybe try looking for something a bit more modern but soft. Also, a voice over would have been really good with steps and explanations of what you were doing. I personally like to watch these kinds of videos as a learning tool.
Did you have that wooden cradle/box built custom for your mold? I have Brambleberry silicone molds and they really bulge on the sides when full. I like the box yours is in.
Lovely as always! Thank you for sharing. When you divided your three top colors did you make them all the same amounts? Thanks!
Yes, the black, two greens, and yellow were all the same amount.
Hello I live in the country's Arab and I love to learn this soap making thank you
You're welcome. 😊
What kind of sorcery is this?! How did that happen? You are amazing!
Thank you beautiful swirls
Thanks so much, Deana! ✨
Reminds me of Yellena James’ paintings ❤️
I look a look. Those would make great inspiration! 🎨💕
Can I ask what are u doing with the paint brush? Beautiful soap!!!!
I am just getting the little bits of soap off. If I use my hand, they often get smashed onto the soap. (I know I am a little obsessive, but this was for a contest.)
I don’t make soap, so this question may be too amateurish: but I noticed you had some liquid soap in the different colors remaining in the pour containers. What do you do with that little bit of left over soap? Do you make a small bar with that??
By the way, I love your colors, the shapes, swirls, they look so inviting! I imagine the fragrances, oh yum!
Thank you! Good question. I made enough four another 4-bar batch, so that I had enough for the colors I wanted for the main batch. When using the squeeze bottles, it's always good to have extra, because you have to account for what doesn't come out of the bottle easy. 💛❣💚
Great.
How much time required to freeze the soap?
Hi Marie: Beautiful work.
Q: what was the depth of base "white" in the mold? Was it 1/3 of the depth of the mold?
Thanks
It was half full. I made a tutorial for Elements Bath and Body. It is a written tutorial. Here is a link. www.elementsbathandbody.com/lemon-drop-swirl-soap-recipe/
Magnifique
Thank you so much! 🦋💖✨
Absolutely beautiful!! I do have to say I prefer the videos where you talk more over the ones with music. I made me feel like I was stuck in the loading screen of a video game.
LOL! I know, the music is terrible. I was just learning. Thank you! 💚
Tree Marie Soapworks you’ve gotten much better! I love watching your progress.
beautiful beautiful work... I have a question...you use Lard among ingredients...is it vegetable lard? thank you :)
No, it is pig tallow, and makes a very nice bar.
#BOMB 💣
The intro music reminds me of the game don't starve lol
👍😉💐Лайк и подписка. Молодец.
Thanks so much!
It looks like a Mid Century Modern pottery design.
Your videos are so GOOD 😊
Art school must have been fun but you were born for this!
Thank you so much Jay! 😊
Pretty
The music is terrible but the soap is exquisite.
Great tutorial. Great colors. Great looking soap bars.
One question from Germany.
Can you tell me the dimensions of your wonderful looking soap bars or of your mold?. What is the "perfect" or best dimension for a soap bar?
Thx for the answer.
Thank you so much! Hello from America! My bars are 3.5" x 2.25" x 1". The mold is 10" x 3.5" x 2.5" 😊
Ich bin immer frustriert, weil es gefühlt so wenige deutsche Video zu Seife gibt. Hab Angst, etwas falsch zu übersetzen 😅
Hi zweiundzwanzig. Hier ist ein deutscher Video. Hoffe das hilt dir etwas.Hi zweiundzwanzig. Here is a german video. I hope this helps you...
czcams.com/video/LxLrLhV9jFI/video.html
Thank you for just showing. I despise to much chatty instructional. Lol!
I missed hearing your voice on this one! Great video though!!
I know, I was just learning. 😊 Thank you!
Did you mix all yellows and all greens? or just choose 1 of the yellow and 1 of the green?
I mixed a few colors to get one color. I kind of explain it in this video. czcams.com/video/yam6C0BzLbQ/video.html
Hi. Hope u r doing good. I am requesting again to plz answer to my query as already asked in your other video. For mixing colours, did u desperate OO from the total weight of OO or u have mixed colours in OO out of batch???
The olive oil I use is not taken from the batch oils or subtracted from the oil weight. It is extra and it adds to the super fat. It is not something to worry about.
Beautiful designs! Is there a way you can add voice over to explain the process? Thanks!
Not on this one, but actually I made a written tutorial for Elements of this soap here: www.elementsbathandbody.com/lemon-drop-swirl-soap-recipe/
