I am 68 and I have tailbone length hair that thick, wavy, auburn, age is just a number. If I don't wear it down, I wear it in a waist length side braid, or protective style s like milkmaid braids, I love my long hair.
Exactly. I stopped messing with my hair and discovered I have long blonde healthy curls that are going white. I don’t blow dry it, I don’t straighten it, I don’t part it any certain way, it’s wild and free and has never looked better or matched my personality more. My hair has fallen out many times, so it’s exciting. I find the “some people care how they look” comment to be sanctimonious and completely misses the point. Some people know what’s important, some don’t. Aging is amazing, I embrace it fully because I’m lucky to have the opportunity to do it. There’s nothing shameful or wrong about it. I severely doubt I’ll be on my deathbed regretting doing a center part rather than a side part.
I'm almost 80 and my hair is below my shoulders..I wore it curly most of my life until I got a bad perm 2 years ago that destroyed my hair.. after wearing straight hair that made me look old and tired I got another perm....my hair is curly..soft and looks great ..My attitude changed..I no longer feel my age..even my husband says I Iook yesrs younger..I feel more like my old self again..and it feels good
I'm 63 this year and have had mid-back length for a few years. I've got a long narrow face, so I get where you're coming from with trying to prevent elongating the face. My hair is dark brown and uncoloured, with a white strip just to the side of centre. I love it and try to use it when putting my hair into any style. I don't curl it as my hair doesn't hold curls without "stuff" which I'm sensitive to, but it has a bit of natural wave that I can use to my advantage. However, I usually braid it when it's first washed so it dries into lovely waves. Last year I learned how to use hair sticks and they are my go-to for everyday and dressy when I want my hair up. Left down, it depends on a good cut with light layers that give movement. Sometimes I don't mind the "stark" look of hair pulled back, but I prefer something more soft. I dislike wisps around my face, but some face-framing layers world be nice. Maybe next time! I grew up in the era that said that older women shouldn't have long hair. I love my long hair and thing it's very flattering and feminine. Short hair only emphasizes my strong features. Going to keep the length for as long as I can maintain it myself! I've got years to go!!
Your part is in a really good place. A center part is one of the most unflattering parts for women of a certain age. It accentuates the nose (which is still growing as we age) and makes the face look longer (only good if you have a really round face). A side part is much softer, and usually gives more height to the crown.
I have long thick hair. 67. I go with a Lob, basically. And my part is center just off cowlick. So for me I can't do Side part. And I've already done Rhinoplasty 😅
When are we going to stop putting all these rules and restrictions on woman ??!! Who decides how long our hair gets to be or how we wear it? Who decides what we get to wear or what is or is not in style this year?? We need to STOP this. I'm 49. My hair is almost to my waist and it's healthy and beautiful on me and no one is going to tell me any different. Ladies, stop putting limitations on yourself. Do what looks and feels right for you. Not what society says you should do.
I think the best part is your hair looks super healthy and shiny. At 63, I am growing my hair out and going for a healthy looking shoulder length. My hair is fine and straight so I think that’s the optimum for me.
I have a hair consult tomorrow.. was going to get my long hair all cut off... now I'm going to keep my hair long but get it thinned out and blonder. Thank goodness I saw your video.
So many people are like "Don't tell me what to do". 🙄 I don't feel like you're doing that. I wear my hair loose whenever I want, but if you have new ideas I like, I'm all for it. Different styles for different days. 😊👍
I am 69 and have lovely dark brown wavy hair that l wear up or down many different ways! My hair is just as beautiful as in my youth! Feel fortunate&BLESSED! I don't worry about what others think! I enjoy my hair! I also am a hairdresser! Still working in a salon! What ever style l chose is professional! Lol!
I do a quick and imperfect French braid. Fold it up, secure with a narrow band and use the clip over the top. The French braid is hidden, my grey streaks look cool, I get height at the top and no loose bits.
I, too, grew up around women who only wore short, permed hair after a certain age. Thank God I stopped thinking short hair was my only option. My hair is long, wavy, uncolored & thick with a gray streak at each temple. My hair problem is it gets frizzy and can look too much like Rosanna Rosanna Danna but I can’t find an affordable salon who listens & knows I need some layering to make it lay down.
Oh your hair is so pretty and long! I've always had like short, short hair & I've been growing it out but battling hair thinning. Thank you for keeping us company !
Almost all of women on those Housewives shows wear their long and it doesn't appear juvenile. They aren't teenagers. Maybe hair in two pigtails with ribbons would be juvenile, but simply having longer hair shouldn't be an issue. Type of hair can also be a factor. For those with curly hair wearing it longer can give more styling options without having to use alot of heat or a ton of products. However, I really like the suggestions here and appreciate the video.
Thank you Bobbie!!! My hair is a similar length, and I really loved seeing how you style your hair. Your hair is gorgeous! I haven't played with bigger barrel curling irons. I'm going to have to try them 🙂
Thanks for the easy and elegant do-able styling tips. I also have long hair and two left hands when it comes to teasing, Bobby pins or “products”. I’ve a tip that has been a game changer for me…the Goody company has a pin called spin pins or twirly pins that come 2 or 3 to a package and in two sizes. Even in my heavy straight hair, I only need 2 of them to make a upstyled bun that lasts all day. Easy peasey!😅
I think looking like a little girl is not a bad thing. You have lovely hair btw! Me personally I don‘t want to limit myself because of my age, but some of your tipps to look professional or practical while driving are very useful! You look lovely with your hair curled!
I wish my 66 yr old hair was that thick! I'm total grey but have loss so much on top and sides! If I expose my frame on top, you see each individual hair on my scalp! 😬 I like longer hair but feel self conscious about the loss! Your hair is beautiful.
You have fabulous hair! More power to all women for making their own choice, without pushback from anyone, including dopey men. Your hair would really look beautiful underwater. You should try that!
I’ve not cut my hair since 2020, and I’m sure there are man6 who can say the same. I have very light gray naturally highlighted thru, with a streak that cuts thru very dark. I simply twist and clip. Never have I had such easy hair
I enjoy the way you edit; I appreciate that you don't waste our time with unnecessary chat while you do the obvious. There are many videos I have to quit for thst reason
Thank you so much for noticing that. I wouldn't say I always do it that way, but I try! I get bored easily, so I like to keep the video moving. Thanks again!
I am 67 yrs old and my hair is past my butt by 4 inches, i never tie it up. My hair has been long all my life. Your hair is very pretty, but i would not call it long. It is short to me.
That is awesome! I used to wonder if I was getting too old for longer hair, but now...I DON'T CARE! I look so much better with some length on it. Wow...28 inches...Love it!
I ordered 2 of those side ways clips when you had them in yahoos and boos. Best hair clips EVER. I wear mine to the pool all the time. They are great when you are cleaning the house too! ♥️
Your hair looks so pretty that length. Healthy too. I liked the deep side part and wavy with curling iron. Love the Magic Root cover up. My go to. You gave a lot of options. Thanks Bobbie😊.
Try diluting a teaspoon of sugar in a cup of water in a spray bottle. Lightly mist your hair before curling. Spray each section individually, comb through, curl. Sugar "hairspray" works very well with hot rollers. Hope it works for you! Totally nontoxic and economical!
Great video! I too had problems with wearing a large clip in the back, particularly when I wanted to wear a Summer hat. I started braiding my hair to the side and rolling it up in what I call a "Half Leia," coiled and clipped just behind one ear. My hair is very fine so this worked for me. I love the look the curling irons gave you! Thanks for sharing the links!!
Thank you for sharing your video. I got a few ideas where i can wear my long hair. I use clips and hair bands. I wear braids most of the time. When my hair was above my shoulders i used lots of clips. No clip stays in my hair now. I use bobby pins and hair spray. My hair is too thick and long, it's my culture. First time watching your video and it was interesting. 👍
Thank you for sharing your styles with us. Sunglasses HEADBAND!?! You've just brought more joy to my life! :) I didn't see a link in the description to give you some credit, but I had to order one to try. Happy New Year!
Your eyeshadow colors are beautiful. You and I have sort of similar coloring although I don’t have your pretty blue eyes. What eyeshadow are you wearing? 🙂. Thank you for the great styles.
Great video, I do all the same hairstyles other than the curls, but you have inspired me to get another curling iron 😊. Another one I do is do your deeper part pull just the side part bit of hair up on one side kind of right above your ear but a bit behind and secure with bobby-pins criss crossed.
I am 57 snd embracing what the Lord has given me naturally, a crown of glory, which are my grey hairs, but they are growing in exactly where you say to highlight, so I guess I have natural God given highlights! 😂 I think we should embrace aging with grace and dignity and just own the way we look! 💜👍💜

You go, girl
The best part of being older is not caring what other people think. Wear your hair long and free. Who cares…do your own thing.
Some of us love ourselves enough to care how we take care of ourselves… for ourselves. 😮
Exactly. I stopped messing with my hair and discovered I have long blonde healthy curls that are going white. I don’t want to look Professional at all, but confident, artistic, authentic. Wigs are great.

Your hair is so silky looking! Beautiful!
Beautiful hair, love the styles. My daughter would like this.
My hair is mostly white now and I grew it long. You only live once 😅
Oh man...I love white hair! Mine has a few grey strands, but I don't think I'll ever go completely white or grey. My mom isn't and she's 83.

Yes…try them! It makes a huge difference!
Really your best is the look just at the beggining of Your video ,so natural and beautiful nothing juvenile about it in my opinion xo
God Bless you, Thank you for helping me with my hair!
I absolutely love the color of your hair. Do tell color and highlights 🙂. Ruth
What kind of comb/brush are you using? I love your various styles! I am 68 with long hair that I don’t want to cut. These are great ideas for me.
Thank you. My hair is at the same length. You got me ready for summer.

This is what I needed right now, as growing mine out for daughters wedding. Its making me crazy right now, so thanks a ton.

At 69 years old I wear my hair in a long braid to control it and it looks tidy and contained. No haircuts, no major upkeep. Just Natural ....
Thanks Bobbie. Love all your hair style ideas. I do a French twist with 2 smaller clips (then doesn’t hit the headrest when driving). 😃🌸🌺
What kind of clips do you use?
That sounds pretty!
You have fabulous hair! More power to all women for making their own choice, without pushback from anyone, including dopey men. Your hair would really look beautiful underwater. You should try that!

Yes, same I hate chatting chatter chatter gossip gossip, just get to the point and stick to it. I’ve clicked off many videos for that reason.
I’ve waited my whole life to have someone show me how to put my hair in a ponytail. 🤣
Glad I could help! 😉

Yes. That's what I do with my part. I spend time parting it, and parting it until I get it right.
I ordered 2 of those side ways clips when you had them in yahoos and boos. Best hair clips EVER. I wear mine to the pool all the time. They are great when you are cleaning the house too! ♥️
Oh good! I’m glad they work well for you Lisa!
@@MindfulMidlife what clips is she referring to? I tried looking up the description she gave but was not able to find anything. Thanks.
Your hair looks so pretty that length. Healthy too. I liked the deep side part and wavy with curling iron. Love the Magic Root cover up. My go to. You gave a lot of options. Thanks Bobbie😊.
Thank you Sharon!
I like that your hair is very shiny what products to use including colors?
your hair color is gorgeous
I like your hair back with the clip--very chic!
Thank you! 💕
I spend all that time with the curler and 5 minutes later the curl/wave is completely gone. Yes, I’ve used every product in existence.
Try diluting a teaspoon of sugar in a cup of water in a spray bottle. Lightly mist your hair before curling. Spray each section individually, comb through, curl. Sugar "hairspray" works very well with hot rollers. Hope it works for you! Totally nontoxic and economical!

I also wear the “Half Leia” bun behind my right ear. Great minds think alike!
Clips in the back can be a "pain" while driving for me
You and your hair are absolutely beautiful
I agree it looks good
Thank you for sharing your video. I got a few ideas where i can wear my long hair. I use clips and hair bands. I wear braids most of the time. I am so envious of your hair! I have grown mine out from a pixie. It's just now long enough where I can pin it up or pony tail
I had a pixie as well! It takes a long time but I won’t go back. I like long way better.
It helps that you have really good hair!
My hair does what it wants on any given day I don't fight it I put on my mascara and lip gloss and a pair of funky pants and strut my stuff
Getting my hair cut tomorrow!!!!!!
Lovely thanks. Your hair is beautiful
hahee your so funny (edits) 😂🤣 and wonderful and nice job😊 i’m going to try combing my hair differently when putting it up in a ponytail. God bless

How the heck did you get that butterfly comb from your mouth...impressive😊
Beautiful hair 💕 not long tho imo this is more short medium.
I know this is an old video but had a question, how is your hair cut?
Gtreat video!!!
Very pretty ❤
I'm 64 my hair is about 2 inches from my waist. I have only about 4 grey hairs. I've never died it. When I was in my 20s and 30s I used 28 wash dyes but nothing since then. Going grey older runs in my dad's family. Even when I go grey I don't want to cut it!
The Wilder the Better
haha, Love that!
This video is supposedly on ‘long hair’! I have long length, below bra length
I have only anout 1/10th of your hair. However, my part is exactly the same and my natural grey is highlighting my face. I also can’t get my hair to be that long being that is paper thin and fine.
What kind of tongs do you use
Would you list the clips you used? I love the large one.
Some we purchased in a store in CA that I can't remember, but we also got these from Amazon: amzn.to/39mbDi5
