Epic scene: I've been keeping this french movie on my drive for the last 10 years just to watch this epic car chase/training scene again every now and then. Is so packed with filming angles and driving skills.
In This Parody Car Chase Is: 1966 Fiat 124,1965 Opel Admiral,1966 Citroën DS21,1970 Peugeot 504 Injection,1965 Mercedes-Benz W108,1963 Alfa-Romeo Giulia Super,1982 Lancia Prisma And 1975 Seat 131
I was stunned 26 years ago to see all these beautiful, expensive cars being sacrified. Now, being wise, I just adore them. Some of the best cars ever were portrayed. Peugeot 505 and Mercedes 190E are the winners. Mercedes over-engeneered the car and Peugeot never made a better sedan afterwards. Sad that modern cars are just heartless piles of cheap electronics and have become mobile iPhones.
@@axelosito rear wheel drive with front wheel steering is all wheel traction. Vs front wheel has steering and drive only on both front wheels. RWD gives you control of all wheels..
@@siegfriedbarfuss9379 "rear wheel drive with front wheel steering is all wheel traction. Vs front wheel has steering and drive only on both front wheels. RWD gives you control of all wheels.." --> No.
Having had both cars in my family, mercedes was very reliable too, but engine didn't last as long as the 505's. From 3 505 owned (my dad 1, and 2 uncles had 1 too), the one 505 which made the less kilometer totalized 700k kms, the other one 850k, and the last almost 1 million. All of these 505 have certainly finished their days in Africa as Taxi brousse (like a lot of 504 and 505 from Europe). :-)
They're test drivers. The hero of this film and the one original 20 years earlier is test driver. Both films show auto rallies. On voiceover, woman is enquiring about him after daughter sees in chance encounter. This film continues the story started 20 years earlier. Check out both films on DVD !!!!!!!! Fabulous.
Let them make a remake of this movie with cars:Mercedes w206,BMW F-seria,Audi A6 c8,Renault Tallisman,Peugeot 508,Saab 9-3,Lancia Thema-2/Chrysler 300c/
I wouldn't be surprised if Monsieur Lelouch filmed this illegally. I mean, he probably didn't... but I wouldn't put it past him to steal a few shots on some "back roads," if you know what I mean ; ]
Yes that's true. All modern cars are going worse and worse nowadays, and Peugeot or Mercedes are no exception. Too much electronics, too expensive, companies need to make profit with high repairs costs, and changing the car models more and more often in order to make customer buy change faster. We are now in a society where people throws everything very fast to garbage, even when it can still be used.
I close my eyes....I am there.....what to do with a few close friends on an afternoon in France. ;-) But wait!!! NO CGI!!?? OMG.... What was Lelouch thinking!? LOL
For those who've watched the movie.. What was the point of this chase? Were they on a challenge from the woman who was talking on the phone as the voiceover?
I don't think they're changing the models more often, that's been going on since the 40's really, especially with the american manufactures of the time. Same platform different body, but it's one of the reasons there were so many great body styles through the 50's and 60's. I would have to agree that most cars recently have looked pretty bland, but the new Mercedes design looks really good, look at what they had at Geneva this year. If anything car styling is starting to get good again.
it was a sequel .....if memory serves, THIS was the opening scene to the movie - "A Man and A Woman 20 Years Later". The original was the film "A Man And A Woman" from 1966. There were race scenes in that one too, but not like this. Did you see that one?? (if you did, i'll gladly delete this post) a la prochaine!!

This opening scene taught me everything I know about driving! I purchased this movie because of this clip- lol Love it!
I'm absolutely sold on seeing this movie now. What an amazing action sequence, and it's in an art film!
What an amazing work !!! The camera the stuntmen, everything.. brilliant !!!!!
yea....NO CGI!!!!

Why am I seeing this only now 😭, the french really know how to make a thrilling car chase, not that US crappy cutscenes and pointless engine overdubs

3:17 I don't care that cars are becoming electric, but at least have a controllable clutch so I can dump out of a hairpin like this!
The BMW and the Mercedes are the real winners because of all wheel traction. Citroen CX missing.. great chase. 🙏🏻 for posting
@@siegfriedbarfuss9379 There is no all wheel traction here.

lancia thema superior!!!!
best car chase ever? see the 'well built' mercedes boot lid fly open though? for me it has to be the BMW 528i or the Saab 900 Turbo!
Très belle scène de cascade !

Lancia Thema, in its TURBO version, is a lot faster than the other cars
Aha- I saw this on late night TV 20+ years ago, and have been looking for this clip... Cool.
Well the Lancia Thema won't last forever, the Peugeot 505 will!
This is by far the most reliable of those cars.
Peugeot 505 forever.
At 3:19 that Lancia got some power.
LANCIA turbo i,e, wins!!!!
No Alfa 75 or 164...that cars should be the winners!

The time when cars were build like tanks!
The Saab may not be the fastest but if I had a choice which car to take to this demolition derby, I'd definitely take the 900 for its safety...

Amazing. I can't imagine how horrible this would have been if it was an American movie.
agreed...there would have been 6 explosions and not just 'the chase' and the knowing that these people were actually having fun (hopefully)
You forgot gunfire exchanges between characters, pedestrians getting mowed down, and police cars being turned into scrap metal!
Wise words!
Sad but true....
If I recall correctly, this opens the film. Like another commenter said, this 2nd one . . . ? it's a nice book end.
I just saw this on TV, it was AWSOME, thank god it's here on CZcams aswell!

Ни одного русского коментария, а все потому , что видио подается для французского зрителя -это неуважительно для русскоговорящих.
