Tuomas said in an resent interview that he is the luckiest songwriter in the world because he has 3 great singers in his band and on this record he wanted to give all a leading song. Because he is a genius he knows exactly how to write songs to each singer, he wrote that song with Troy's voice in mind, and the song is so beautiful. He also wants to give more space to Troy in the upcoming concerts and not make him be in the background anymore. Personally I have for a long time wanted Tuomas to do a work for the symphony orchestra, give him the orchestra and freedom to write he will come up with the most beautiful composition, Mozart, Beethoven and Sibelius would love his music. Thanks for this reaction, great words. Kiitos.
The actual song is a little longer than this video, hence why it's not released on Spotify yet. This song is the last song of the 2nd album, I can't wait for the entire 2nd CD to hear it in it's full glory. :D I really enjoyed your reaction, you are so right! :D The planet needs us, and I'm so fucking happy one of my favourite bands is sharing my opinion about humanity, I've been teaching people to love and appreciate the planet since I was a kid, this album touches me deeply, I hope more people will realise that we should care more about others and the nature instead of ourselves.
I really hope that (eventually) we get to hear and see the whole suite performed live, with Our Goddess applying her golden larynx to this movement.
Denise, I'm so excited for this record! 🙂
Me to. I ordered the special edition of the instrumental of the first CD. Like the other albums.
I agree, except for the planet needing us. It doesn't need us, but we need it, at least for now. All the more reason for us to care about it.
I respect the fact you guys give honest reactions the fact is music touches us all different that is why we have so many kinds of music and some people need to remember that....Great reaction guys keep it up
Thank you.
yeah its fine, you don't have to like everything
Totally agree👍.. There is no point for a fake reaction.. Just do the way u are now.. I also love how ur reaction without too many pause the video because it will interupt the emotion of the song.. Keep it up guys!!
Totally agree I don't like the pit and the pendulum but like the rest of nightwishs songs even anettes
@@richardhall6034 you have to agree the poet & pendulum is a masterpiece though
The Sagan quote makes me tear up. So does the music. And then you went to talk about the last human on Earth and I just lost it.
Your rant about humanity is so spot on!
The narration wasn't by Floor, it was by English actress Geraldine James (among other roles, Mrs. Hudson in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes movies).
And a little role in David Fincher's "The Girl Withe Dragon Tattoo" which is very dear to me. ;-)
Nightwish has released couple of their privious albums in instrumental form too and I really enjoy listening to them. Gives me same vibes, triped down music where I can fully focus on the struckture of the song. Ad Astra is so beautifully made I love it.
Pedro, sem palavras... Foi o teu momento de maior inspiração de sempre e de eloquência.
Um abraço de Portugal
10:40-13:00 - Best Statement in a reaction video ever!
if you didn't like it, you didn't like it, the expectations are silly. I personally liked harvest, but you don't like it, so what. It doesn't make your reaction less valid!
an amazing reaction. I couldn't agree with you more with all you were saying.
At second listening, the song was playing in the background, I started crying uncontrollably, just the sheer beauty of the drums and the voice humming, it felt like mother nature was hugging me. This song makes me think how Tuomas is playing with our feelings like a magician, he won our hearts, keeps them in his palms and crushes them while we beg for more. I really hope this song is just a teaser.
I agree with everything you said - from the first till the last second!
So true...
Greetings from germany
Woah.. I just loved to listen the reaction! World has hope!
Great reaction again! Best (night)wishes, guys! Keep do this!
As long as we stay healthy, we will keep doing it.
You are so right..first NOISE and than this..great reaction👍 yes we have many to do..
A&P - love the reaction and you’re so right about how we exploit everything as a species and how greed and degeneracy are the new King. Peace and be safe.
Thank you for reacting & spreading this campaign video for donations to explode.
Nice and pure reaction. My sentiments exactly.
Thanks boys! I respect your reactions, as we all should. You are here to give comments of your own, so you will.
It was interesting to watch how Tuomas' music calms a raging beast :D But seriously, I do wholly agree that people should be respectful about each other's opinions what comes to arts, as there is no "correct" opinion. Science is whole another thing.
This is 100% correct
There no such thing as Science....
Not really. You either feel like they actually know what they are telling you, or they are pretending to know things that aren't possible to know, so we believe they are all-knowing. Or in some cases "motivated" by outside influences. So there are varied opinions on that. A scientist claims there is exactly 1.3 trillion tons of hydrogen in the atmosphere of planet XG49000 1/2 in the Googlesmorf galaxy 12 million light years away. "FACTS!" You stupid denier!!" Accepting anything a person tells you on face value is just like the blind faith of religion. Free thinkers unite!
As far as the stuff in this video goes, extinctions have always happened, still happen, and always will happen, whether we had a role in it or not. When a species' time is up, it's up, although the powers that be want us to believe we are totally responsible for every bad thing that happens on Earth for the purposes of seizing more and more control over our lives. It's never a natural process that we have no control over. But as humans we do have the ability to keep species around past their expiration dates, so I think we are actually doing more good than bad in recent history, if you don't look at some of the brutal practices of some third world countries and their wildlife.
I actually enjoyed the Carl Sagan quote immensely. It complemented the music beautifully.
Pablo-- keep doing what you do-- most of us appreciate your honesty!
Hello hello hello hello. Best show ever. You are one hundred percent right and what you said. Not only do we not treat our brother right, but we are definitely bad Stewart's of this planet. I hope this will create a movement for awareness of what we are doing to the planet and to ourselves. One more thing before I forget. You can kind of see a theme that is going on here, the message in noise, the message in harvest, and in this one.(I couldn't remember the title to this song LOL). And I tell you what, I didn't like ghost love score the first time I heard it. LOL. Never change how you feel and when you react to song. Well keep on keeping on.
its a beautiful track......enchanting and uplifting...especially in these difficult times
Regular folks: “the virus is the virus”
Metal folks: “humanity is the real virus”

Good honest reaction again guys 🤘🤘
This is beautiful
Totally honest with you... The reason i love your reactions is because you are honest.. You will say if you like something or not... I have seen other youtubers reactions and i just stop watching them because they're not real.. They like every videos they watched and for me that's bullshit.. So be you, be honest, and fuck who ever doesn't like your opinion. Btw i completely agree with you about the second single from Nightwish.
Cheers
I think full song has lyrics like on "greatest show on earth"
Thanks for the videos guys.

I'm totally with your Harvest reaction. If you just said you liked everything, the channel would be trash! I love Ad Astra and think it will be lovely finish to an epic, orchestral CD2, which will stand apart and different to CD1. Gives me a Two Steps From Hell vibe ... which is a good thing. Great rant - bang on.
There's vocals...just not words. 😉
Floor morphs into a Condor...
Nightwish Yeah! The phrase ... Hi guys! It gets thicker every time hahaha
Well said, great reaction and I love this music. People better wake up and value what organizations like World Land Trust are doing to preserve our forests. One important factor that people forget or is not aware of is that trees and vegetation absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. We absorb oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. So keep clearing large vasts of forests without regrowing and we will all be toting around and breathing from portable oxygen generators in the future. Damn I love Nightwish!!!
We need a fucking wake-up call, and I respect Nightwish so much for trying to give us just that.
Nice reaction once again ! And yes, you're right, it makes no sense to expect honest reaction from you and bashing you when you say that you don't like a song as much as you would have wanted
Oh my god, you shold be the next president, that was the vices spetch i have herd on A longe time😃👍🏻🏴🇳🇴🇫🇮🇨🇦 I think Nightwish with this album wants to wake up the people and opend our mind about our wondefull planet before it´s too leit. Sorry excuse my bad english, hope you understand🤣🤣🤘
Maybe I should run for supreme leader
1. This is a cut part of the last movement/track of "All The Works Of Nature Which Adorn The World". There is about a minute or so missing. Also, we don't know how it was spliced or if/how it was altered (as Noise was for the music video, as you know - the actual track is slightly different).
2. This video was released specifically as a partnership with WLT, promoting their work on rain-forest conservation. It is essentially intended to promote said work and the video was designed by Lipiainen to do just that. Said pointed video "may" trick us regarding the content of the song as a whole.
💖
been subscribed for a long time, also a huge nightwish fan so enjoy when you guys react to that, but something about this video is making me post for the first time, firstly - your opinions are your opinions, and they dont always have to be the same as others, as a duo, you two have been more open to changing opinions in the past anyway(ghost love score a good example) so dont listen to anyone who tries to throw mud because your opinion doesnt match theirs (i like folkey music so i liked harvest, but to me it was very very different from a lot of their stuff)
Secondly, i like the entire coming together thing approach to the humanity rant.
but the main reason im writing this comment, you started the video angry and i can tell you have had a hard day/week, a bit snappy at your son, but at the end, after listening to how he enjoys instrumentals and the comment about maybe changing how you think about instrumentals just reminded me of why i subscribed in the first place. I think your doing an admirable job as a father and watching that relationship grow up has been amazing, just wanted to say that.
I stayed to the end of your rant. Very well said. Also, with a band as great as Nightwish its almost impossible to hear new content without the burden of their back catalogue getting in the way. You're wanting to recreate your first Floorgasmic moment (other gasms are available) or suddenly acquire the appreciation you have of an album after 100 listens. It takes time. I was about 8 listens before I came to terms with Harvest Now I love it. . It's not that I didn't like it after the first listen but I didn't know what to do with it.
Anyway, byes.
Tuomas is a fantastic composer and a visionary. The members of the band are world class. In the world of rock and metal they are like John Williams of film scoring. Top of the class! I may be a bit of a fan. OK I am a big fan...
I understand the point of view that the Instrumental song with no Singing part, no lyrics .. has one "voice" less, one color less than a full canvas with all the colors!
But let me say this, your son I think understood the meaning of a instrumental track.
Let me say clearly, I think U refers to the Instrumental Metal Songs of a band, or the Instrumental version of a song that originally is with singing words .
So, I suggest you to listen to Animals as Leaders, band that compose their metal music only with music, without words, no singing part... but there's a lot of Meaning and Soul.
U can apply this also to the Classical composition, like Beethoven, Mozart... or the contemporary composer like Steven Reineke, in particular listen to "Pilatus the Mountain of Dragons", or "Into the Raging River"... the Instrumental composition are very very Soulful if these composition are created with the prospective of a composition with no word.
Love U guys!
The new Nightwish album is going to be AMAZING!
Exactly. There is a difference between music that has been written with the intention of being instrumenal only and music that's just released as an instrumental version (where a version with vocals exist).
I write instrumental music myself and I can confirm that the creative process is different than if you would have to think about leaving space for vocals as well.
Nightwish seems to be mellowing out.
I hope you do try to give instrumental music more of a chance, and change your thinking if that's required, there's so much great instrumental music, soundtracks included. I can't imagine myself not liking instrumental music, it's such a bizarre concept in my mind to try and imagine what it's like.
This ^. Instrumental music is awesome.
I enjoy classical music, which is mostly just instrumental. However, I also like many other genres too, especially rock & metal. I really like the fact that not only Nightwish, but also two other bands that I like have released their latest albums with both regular songs with lyrics and vocals, but also as just instrumental tracks. These bands are Aephanemer (French melodeath band) and MONIO Inc. (German Gothic rock/metal).
Yes..."we were here" 12:45 as NW says in the Greatest Show on Earth.

It is good that you give your honest opinion about the song hearing it the first time. Faking it is not the way to go and i respect that you keep it real. For my part i loved harvest much because of the music right away and ofcourse i'd want people to love it at first glance just as i did. And we get dissapointed when people do not agree, but that is life. People are entitled to their own opinion. This one is also great. Keep it up :)
I really appreciate your public candor towards others trying to impose their views -- Especially as a content creator on platforms where it is norm to be everyone' friend for the sake of not losing audience. This becoming more common on social media platforms where some people -- and this is not specific to one specific fandom -- where followers believe absolute fealty is required by you as a creator to deserve their viewership. I didn't follow the channel yet, but your irritation with this kind of nonsense is reason enough alone to subscribe to you guys' channel.
People tend to forget in their 'enthusiasm' that things like music, art, food, literature, relationships, etc. are all highly subjective. If we would all love the same thing the world would become very monochromatic and dull. I love many kinds of music genres and bands but there are just songs that really don't appeal. Are they detrimental to how I view a band or artist? Absolutely not, if I were that rigid in my music preferences I might as well stop listening to music altogether because there is always a reason not to like something. There is just no such thing as the perfect [insert noun of choice].
Anyway, with regards to the Ad Astra song, I love the whole atmosphere of the song and the way Floor' singing served as a beautiful instrument, serene yet haunting. Can't wait for the album to release!
Well said. People need to stop this sheep mentality, think independently for yourself
Nightwish is from Finland. And being a Finn means first and foremost one thing: honesty. If a song is shit in your opinion, you need to say it's shit. There's a chance that Tuomas is not watching this video (or your harvest react) but if he does, he'd probably 100% appreciate your perspective.
Surprising release, since it spoils the finale of the 30 minute 8-part piece on disc2. Personally I love instrumentals, lyrics are last priority for me with music. There are songs I've loved for over 30 years that I only learned what they were saying recently, lol.

Weird, because for me, I have great difficulty in remembering lyrics and my brain immediately goes to the music, the lyrics are an added bonus if they are great, but it is never the focus for me. I have listened to some songs many, many times and I still cannot remember all the lyrics to this day.
One of the best things about your channel is the honest reactions. Too many poser reactions out there with over the top fake reactions.

Well i totally agreed (harvest), i did not like it (good reaction). But this song, fantastic. More i dont have to say
Stay always honest, if you don't like something, say it, it's your opinion and that's it. Otherwise, this kind of channels don't make any sense. Harvest is a song clearly conceived for live performances. I'm sure it will be one of the highlights of the concerts, particularly the middle part, with Troy, Empu and Tuomas alternating in a joyful atmosphere. It'll take a new dimension on stage. As for Ad Astra, this is just a part of the last track, it will sound even better in its habitat, but it gives us the idea of what CD2 is about.
I think the world is getting worst to be honest, we can now all se how selfish some people are throughout the planet.
