  • Ste-by-step guide: how to Check-in at Southwest Airlines Self-service kiosk at San Francisco Intl. Airport for US domestic flight caring no additional bags but carry-on only, traveling with no children, and not being part of the military. These are the options I have selected for this tutorial. For this flight I did not upgrade and did not change my seat during the check-in process.
    I buy my airline tickets from www.flight-hunter.com Great deal on flight all the time.

    Videos like these really help passengers who are new to check-in kiosks. Airport check-in kiosks are great to avoid the long lines, and to speed up the check-in process.

    Thanks. Have not flown in a while. What does the 'check bags' option do? Do I still need to check bags if I have a carry on?

    • @ipasfus
      @ipasfus  Před 3 lety +2

      If you have a carry on, no need to check in anything. When you chose to check bags it will ask how many ans so on. However, now with Covid things have changed a bit as airline now rely in mobile apps to work the check in process. www.flight-hunter.com/how-the-pandemic-changed-air-travel/

    Can you go to the kiosk to get a physical boarding pass when you arrive at the airport even if you already checked in 24 hours prior from a computer/mobile device?

    • @ipasfus
      @ipasfus  Před 3 lety +7

      Yes, you can! It will not give you an option to check in as you already did, it will just ask you if you want to a print boarding pass

    Will it still ask me to use a debit/credit card when my work pays for my flight? I assume the confirmation number will bypass the part of having to pay?

    • @ipasfus
      @ipasfus  Před 3 lety

      Yes, that is right. Having a confirmation number means you booked your flight. If your company paid for it you won't need to pay thus no need to use a credit card

    If have luggage to check in, do I pay for fees at the kiosk? Or can it be paid beforehand online or with a traveling agency?

    • @ipasfus
      @ipasfus  Před 2 lety +2

      If you check in online 24 hours prior to your departure and if your airfare doesn't include free luggage you will be prompted to enter number of checked bags and pay online if you chose to do so. Alternatively, you can pay at the airport at the time of check in

    Only thing you need, Don't go to the kiosk it's a waste of time, check in with multiple devices when that 24 hour time period near so you can get A, or Early B boarding. going to the kiosk is like writing a check at wal-mart who does that now a day..

    • @simonkue

      @Enigma McC you can also check in that 24 hour time frame on the kiosk as well, if you have check in bags why go to the kiosk when you need to hand the bags over behind the counter anyways, if you use the app to check in it also includes your boarding pass.

    when to use the KIOSK actually? is it when I dont have any checked-in luggage, if so , what if my carry-on/cabin luggage is over 7 kg, who will weigh it? What if, having received the boarding here, someone goes directly to passport control with cabin luggage over 7kg?

    • @ipasfus
      @ipasfus  Před 3 lety +1

      With cabin luggage over 7kg, in fact the limit is 8kg, you can still get in onboard US airlines seldom eight the carry on. You use the kiosk to check in if you did not do it online already. And also in you need to check in luggage.
