- Ste-by-step guide: how to Check-in at Southwest Airlines Self-service kiosk at San Francisco Intl. Airport for US domestic flight caring no additional bags but carry-on only, traveling with no children, and not being part of the military. These are the options I have selected for this tutorial. For this flight I did not upgrade and did not change my seat during the check-in process.
I buy my airline tickets from www.flight-hunter.com Great deal on flight all the time.

This video is not associated with the airline. The Southwest Airlines is neither involved nor informed about the production of this Travel Tips Video about their service. This video is not a fiction motion picture. This video is true and actual representation of a check-in process at a self service kiosk at the tine of the production of the video.
Videos like these really help passengers who are new to check-in kiosks. Airport check-in kiosks are great to avoid the long lines, and to speed up the check-in process.
Informative.
Thanks, interesting
Thank you
Glad it was helpful
Thanks. Have not flown in a while. What does the 'check bags' option do? Do I still need to check bags if I have a carry on?
If you have a carry on, no need to check in anything. When you chose to check bags it will ask how many ans so on. However, now with Covid things have changed a bit as airline now rely in mobile apps to work the check in process. www.flight-hunter.com/how-the-pandemic-changed-air-travel/
Can you go to the kiosk to get a physical boarding pass when you arrive at the airport even if you already checked in 24 hours prior from a computer/mobile device?
Yes, you can! It will not give you an option to check in as you already did, it will just ask you if you want to a print boarding pass
@@ipasfus is it necessary to print the boarding pass
@@ipasfus I’ve a question as I’ll be flying first time in southwest domestic flight, after self check in, I need to drop my bags to the bags drop ? And I need to go to the line for that or mot
Will it still ask me to use a debit/credit card when my work pays for my flight? I assume the confirmation number will bypass the part of having to pay?
Yes, that is right. Having a confirmation number means you booked your flight. If your company paid for it you won't need to pay thus no need to use a credit card
Related question: if TSA PreCheck isnt showing on my current boarding pass, if they add it the kiosk/counter, do I lose my boarding place (i.e. A40, B2, etc)?
Not sure. Best ask airline or TSA
For checking bags is that per person or just your own bag ? My name on same ticket as my fathers
Not sure of your question.
We can’t see the whole thing a You need to unpixel the boxes.
What in particular do you want to see?
If your partner paid your airline ticket when I walk up to the kiosk I know my confirmation number etc but do I have to insert a card or can I just identify with my driver license since I'm the passenger who's flying
The only thing you need is your booking six digits alfa numerical number or also called Booking code. This is all you need to put your reservation up and check in.
Do u have to pay for carry on bags? And do u need a sticker or a label for your carry on bag or u just take it as is?
Southwest Airlines Carry ON allowance is the “one bag plus one personal-type item” limit. No stickers needed for cary on bags
SouthWest Carry On Policy Summary

@@ipasfus thank u
If have luggage to check in, do I pay for fees at the kiosk? Or can it be paid beforehand online or with a traveling agency?
If you check in online 24 hours prior to your departure and if your airfare doesn't include free luggage you will be prompted to enter number of checked bags and pay online if you chose to do so. Alternatively, you can pay at the airport at the time of check in
Southwest free 2 luggage per person
can't I print out my boarding pass at home after checking in
Yes, you can.
I looked with pleasure.
this is what i hear all day long at the kiosks area "hey i didn't get all my bag tags" "hey i pressed check bags but no tags came out" "can you attach the bag tag for me i don't want to mess it up" "i hate these machines there taking peoples jobs can you do it for me" "can i get a wheel chair((Sorry Kiosks don't care about you needing a wheel chair that's what living humans like skycaps/agents do))" "were are the skycaps i want them back" "did i attach the tag right ((most of the time no they didn't)) what part of the tag do i keep " "what do i do with these little barcode tags was i supposed to tear this off((After they already had torn it off lol))?" i could go on and on but this video just shows you how it goes when nothing goes wrong just saying
You are absolutely right! However, we can't do anything! Airlines Wil continue to cut cost at any cost. And check in kiosks ate something we have to live with for quite some time.
@@ipasfus i work at the airport and help people on the kiosks former skycap turned into the walmart kiosk lady lol
Only thing you need, Don't go to the kiosk it's a waste of time, check in with multiple devices when that 24 hour time period near so you can get A, or Early B boarding. going to the kiosk is like writing a check at wal-mart who does that now a day..
@Enigma McC you can also check in that 24 hour time frame on the kiosk as well, if you have check in bags why go to the kiosk when you need to hand the bags over behind the counter anyways, if you use the app to check in it also includes your boarding pass.
But what if you have a checked bag
@@ml.9417 i'm talking about checking in for boarding priorities, you can check your bags in later when you get to the airport.
When you have bags you can't just hand them over. The bags have to be weighted.
@@ipasfus HUH, who said anything about hand it over and forget about it..
What about connecting flights???
What about them?
Does it have your date of birth on the screen where it says passenger ?
NO this is PII
@@ipasfus thank you
, this is my first time flying.
why is it a dark bark round
Can u be more specific?
Too slow motion
when to use the KIOSK actually? is it when I dont have any checked-in luggage, if so , what if my carry-on/cabin luggage is over 7 kg, who will weigh it? What if, having received the boarding here, someone goes directly to passport control with cabin luggage over 7kg?
With cabin luggage over 7kg, in fact the limit is 8kg, you can still get in onboard US airlines seldom eight the carry on. You use the kiosk to check in if you did not do it online already. And also in you need to check in luggage.
