- After waiting 2 years we finally collect our caravan.
The day is full of nerves and excitement - for so long we never thought it was going to happen!!
Thank you for all your support through our journey - we can't wait to get on the road and explore our beautiful country!
And people bad mouth Jayco. We have had 2 new Jayco vans and have been extremely happy with them.
We hear a lot of bad things about jayco but the amount of vans they sell, the bad reviews are probably a drop in the ocean compared to the good reviews.
Jayco honour the warranty and pay the repairers

I am sorry but may Jayco have well and truely deserve the poor reputation. For every 1 that is good there are at least 3 that have issues- just talk too any caravan repair shop anywhere around Australia.
@@pheonix1758 jayco honour their warranty and pay the repairers on time unlike many other makes - but agree it is sad that they often fail to do even basic in house quality control and do have a poor reputation - myself I have a 1997 jayco westport which is solid and very well built - but my wife and I would never buy a new jayco - the risk of problems is just too big a risk for the dollars

The washing machine comes out just enough to open the lid. I'd like if it came out a little further but it does work the way it is.

wow, after 2 years of waiting you have the van for an hour and have issues, honestly i would drive the van through the front of their warehouse, im blown away at how calm you guys are, i give you a massive thumbs up for that

I’m sorry hear about your problems, we dealt with Sunseeker and picked up our van in November after a two year and 1 month wait and I have to say in our experience Sunseeker were brilliant. We couldn’t be happier with our SeaBreeze Sport. I hope things get better for you

Congratulations on hitting the road you three! You. Have. Earnt. It!! No one wants a 'new van experience' to go like that and the way you carried yourselves is to be honest quite inspiring. OMG I can't believe what you've gone through.
We have an order in with Sunseeker for a vision van and will have an independent inspector check it over before leaving Melbourne to collect it.
So far things have been OK. Fingers crossed.
I hope you get your van sorted out and all goes well.

Crazy it’s taken 2 years makes me glad I bought a second hand one lol. New Vans are nice but holy heck
The funny thing is we were looking at second hand vans and looked at this exact layout that was 3 years old. Loved it at first site but missed out on buying it by about 10 mins. We looked them up new and it was only $6000 more for new with warranty and a few month wait so we thought maybe it's good we missed the older one. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if we had been a little quicker on that second hand one 🤔
Glad you finally have your van, we are glad we pulled out of our deal with that dealership ordered a vision VH14 after 12 months they told us they wanted more money no thanks!We’re is the weigh bridge
I've heard a lot of people have cancelled their orders.
The weighbridge is at the Caloundra Council Tip. You can just drive over it to get the weight.
Your batteries are in parallel. Series means 2 12V batteries give you 24V.

congrats on the van, to be honest I wasn't expecting any less after all the issues with the manufacturer.... hopefully the aircon will be the only fault and you'll have an amazing trip

Yeah we had the same thoughts, we weren't surprised as after everything we knew it wouldn't be perfect, so we are working through the teething issues.

I think you meant to say you're wiring your batteries in parallel? This will allow double the amp hours.

Very sorry to hear all the drama with the new van you've waited so long for, makes me nervous for when we take delivery of our van in March, we ordered December 2021, so not quite as long a wait.
Can i ask who didn your pre inspection as I think that is a great idea as we have to drive from the GC to Newcastle to take delivery and would like any problems detected before we get there.
Hopefully you'll get it all sorted and start to enjoy the caravanning lifestyle.

We 100% recommend an independent inspector prior to handover. We used all clear inspections on the Sunshine Coast. They may be able to help you find a good inspector down Newcastle way.

As a South African manufacturer of caravans, I can not believe that you have had such terrible service and quality issues. I do hope the situation improves going forward.

We love the black duck seat covers. We got the 4elements ones so they are machine washable and they are going really well. No complaints 🙌

That’s one company I will *never* spend money with.
They have assured us that they have updated their processes for future customers. We hope that's true.

The caravan industry sounds like it has a lot of dodgy work going on in it.
I would like to buy a caravan but cannot justify handing over $100 000 plus for a piece of garbage that starts to fall apart the moment it leaves the dealership.
They are trying to regulate the industry but they have a long way to go!
Might be worth looking at second hand so that all the bugs have already been worked out
I know you wanted the best for this experience, but you should have driven straight back, this is unacceptable, you paid 100k ish for a box with issues before you even got home!!!! I feel for you guys having watched your other vid, I saw this with a 120k jayco, and in the finish jayco offerred a full refund, or a new van, the faults you have found, and the poor customer service from the factory, really makes one think, you guys are way more patient than most...
We have never been offered a refund or a new van.
It makes it a bit harder for us as the van is our home. They did fix the aircon leak the next morning, but it was devastating getting home to a big issue straight up.
And I was thinking a sunseeker not anymore I feel so sorry for you guys I just can't believe this these guys had such a good name in the industry do you think its covid that has changed there attitude to customer. I will be looking elsewhere.
We think they got too big too fast during covid.

We know various other people who have ordered through them and some had a bad experience and some had a good experience so hopefully now everything is settling down it can all go back to normal.
This company & dealership should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
To think you can spend $80k plus on a van, wait 2 years for it & have nothing but problems with it is abhorrent.
Take a look at their reviews on Google. 👎

When we ordered they had a very good reputation and the low google reviews didn't appear until recently. We think Covid has impacted them a lot, however our experience was still not the mot fun thing we have ever done.
