This story hits home with me. I joined the Air Force at 18 in dreams of becoming a Pararescueman. 6 weeks into the program I began to realize how superhuman PJ graduates are. 99% of the trainees washout within the first 6 weeks. Due to physical injury, broken bones, torn ligaments, but mostly from mental weakness in the water. The fear of drowning is unlike other fear. It is relentless, sobering, humbling, controlling. I would jump out of an airplane 100 times before having to go back in that pool again. Thank you David for sharing your story with us.

"That job wasn't the job that I wanted... I was trying to find things that I was comfortable doing. Whenever you're looking for things that you're comfortable doing, you're going away from the journey of life." - This is me right now. Wanting to stay in the comfort of what is, financial stability, knowing what my days look like...even though I have resented who I have become and the decisions I have been making.
Today it's time to finally turn in that 2 weeks notice that I told myself I'd turn in over a year ago. It's time to get back on the path and jump off the comfort train.

Very inspirational! We all have our sad story. Personally, I was already broken for 39 years. Then I had my daughter and buried my two younger brothers 5 months apart due to suicide; both of hem. I thought I died with them but I was used to ACTING brave. Then I decided my brothers did not die in vain. Their death taught me to be the father my daughter deserves to have. To be the friend, a friend wants to have... most of all, it taught me fight or flight. Today I’m still broken but have an “S” on my chest. No excuses. Positive self talk, motivational podcasts, good food, proper sleeping, get up early even on your day off. Confront your fears. It’s gonna suck. It still sucks. But it’s the best part of my life that sucks.
    Thanks for the video.

@@user-nj1zu2nf1x I have no idea what's going on in your life, however I would recommend like David said eating well(no junk food, as many whole foods as possible), exercising regularly, as this will release dopamine & boost your mood, having some sort of hobby or passion you can work towards- if nothing comes to mind, spend time figuring out what things get you into a flow state(where you are entirely focused on this activity), make sure you have people you can talk to and communicate with- if not in real life then on forums, groups, etc. Meditation & mindfulness is also important- this can give your brain a mini break & also disconnects you from your ego. View your body & mind as a garden- if you do not supply it with the right nutrients, self love & care then it will wilt & die. Of course, you may have circumstances that I have no idea about; however this advice should raise your baseline level of happiness:)

What a courageous man. My second husband told me that I was to driven and maybe I needed a man like myself. I stayed with that un-driven man for 11 years. I had to question my self and ask why I was sticking with an un-driven, scary, unmotivated man. It was unhealthy dependency. It's been 7 years since our divorce and he is still unmotivated and sad. Now I'm having to rebuild everything I lost. Don't yoke yourself to a loser.

Only 5 minutes in and it’s already life changing stuff. Thank you. Real talk about wanting to quit but dressing it up as excuses and circumstances and finding a way out or some comfortable couch. Forget that. Go get uncomfortable. When I feel the fear creep in and it doesn’t look like fear it just looks like “I’d rather not” or “no I don’t want to” I gotta stop and find out what is underneath it. It’s fear. I’ve given up my dreams, found new dreams, gave them up, found new ones, fucked them up...tried again. Never quitting forever but quitting little by little like a slow cancerous death until my true inner self is so buried beneath all the bullshit I tell myself it’s hard to find the way out. Or in. Letting my past trauma be the reason i don’t is letting those fuckers win over and over. Time to wake up and charge after what I want. Change everything. Get after it. Forgive the past. No time to waste back there. Action action action. Move my ass. 2 days ago I believed I was too old too weak too injured. Wrong! Yesterday I decided. Yesterday I made a choice to not quit. Yesterday I did 54 push ups after deciding I would do 10. I just kept finding more inside me. Deciding to do it instead of asking can I? Deciding I’m doing this. Thank you for being real about your experience and journey. It totally resonates.

His statement about following comfortability and how it is reflected in every aspect of your existence is profoundly accurate! I know this because I've been stuck in that state since until covid quarantine and in lesser forms long before that. I've been inclined to get away, to travel, to go on a journey and many interpret that as "running away from my problems", but to the contrary my aim is to break the cycle of escapism and distance myself from ALL of the easy buttons I push on a daily basis which essentially distract me from facing my problems, investing in my health and myself, rediscovering passion, challenging myself to explore my ample talents and CREATE again instead of settling for this sad state of consumerism that has become so comfortable and only serves all that ails me. I'm a fighter, not a runner.

I've watched countless 'motivational' type videos. Goggins does not motivate me. Instead he does something else, he confirms my own thoughts. It's you on this world, just you, and the only person who wants you to succeed, genuinely, is you. So there is no fucking easy way out, you have to suffer and persevere through. Fuck the rest, fuck your comfort seeking broken self. I'm reaching almost 30 now, total fuck up from everyone's eyes, no self esteem, no job, pretty fucking stupid, and fat. Yeah, I did that, and I can undo it, this is not what I want from this life. I want it. I want to get it. I will get it. Fuck anything else, it doesn't matter. More checkmarks on my daily positive things today I did list.
Goggins one thing I hope you realize is how the internet, smartphones and tech have all added even more layers between us facing our problems. Anxiety, depression, fear, I got it all, boxed myself in and avoided my fears; maybe I should enlist, but I'm old as fuck.

Not impressed with the interviewer, but I sure do love hearing Goggins speak from his heart. It’s very rare to find people that are willing to help people and give you the honest brutal truth without worrying about hurting someone’s feelings. That’s what we need at this moment. We’re all about to go through the biggest transformation in our lives collectively and we need to bring our inner A game👍👍👍. Many blessings to all of you and keep moving forward!! ❤️

When I was in 3rd grade (or so) the teachers got together and decided I was too smart for my math class. So they decided that instead of going to recess everyday, three days a week I would go to the 4th grade math class in addition to my regular classes.
Now mind you I was already in an advance 3rd classroom called Major Work at the time, but apparently that wasn’t enough for my math gifts. So they wanted something more for me. Well when I started in the 4th grade class, I felt lost and also UNCOMFORTABLE because I was not used to NOT understanding something easily without effort. In retrospect I realize that the reason I was lost was that I was dropped in the middle of the semester and didn’t have the first how many ever weeks of background and therefore it was like I was dropped in the middle of an unfamiliar neighborhood and expected to know where I was going.
Anyway, I came up with a lie. I told the teacher that I had broken my leg last summer and the doctor said I need to get more exercise for it to heal properly. Looking back I’m sure they knew it was a lie, but they let me out of it anyway. I went back to my comfort zone.
If we don’t learn to power through the areas where we feel inadequate and uncomfortable we will leave so much of our potential unrealized.

I have my first game of the football 🏈 season tomorrow. And I’m extremely nervous and fearful of it. Being the only white guy on my time also makes things a little hard for me too. I needed this video to understand how to overcome this fear. I worked hard for football and having my parents and friends come support me was huge too because it was hard too convince them that this football career I’m pursuing is my passion.
