I kinda thought it had to weigh more, but I was hoping for .3 of a gram more, not .7. I already have a 15 grame 65mm whoop and I really don't find it flies better or longer than the mobula 6. I think I am going to build up a 75 with a focus on weight savings . Just a little anxious about what sacrifices they needed to make to lose the mipi and drop some weight 😰

Great review nick! Got the mob 6 yesterday from pyro and have around 50ish packs on it. One note: my cam leans left too but mine came like that. I believe its because the canopy sits on top the cam wires. Anyway i printed a bigmcstinky canopy and placed foam underneath the cam to offset the width of the camera wires and it works good! The stock tune with bi blade props is very poor though. Definitely needs some adjustment. Been super fun to fly though!
at 6:36 you show ESC Configurator, and I noticed the ESC's aren't at 48khz? I can't complain about your battery life (the usual reason to go 48 and lose the benefit of resolution of 24) but maybe that's why you have that start up issue? Just opened mine and it seems like they are all shipping without 48khz if I'm seeing this right
My first drone the Emax EZ Pilot Pro suffered the twitchy motors and the 2nd aswell (Meteor65 2022). Now only one of the motors is starting up normally. Flight time is also decreasing from 3:40 to 1:50. Bad AIO board? Anyway, I ordered the Mob6 '24 and fingers crossed it lasts a bit longer.
decreased flight time is a sign the battery connector on the quad is getting worn out and needs replaced. This is an issue we have long had with ph2.0 battery connectors. Thankfully we have new, more robust connectors, like the BT2.0 and GNB A30.
My mobula 6 video feed died after 2 hours. Most of that time was spent setting up flight modes and charging the batteries. It was flown for about 5 minutes before the camera died. 3 total flights, no crashes and now the video feed is dead.
Its going to be hard to hear but when the usb is plugged in the vtx is active. When the vtx is active it is creating heat, this is normal across almost all AIOs. This heat is likely the culprit to the issue you experienced. I use a small fan on micros when setting them up. Of course it takes me about 10-15 minutes to set them up.
Spurring motor might be your bluejay flashed at 96kHz. Reflash with 48kHz and chances are your motor will spin up just nicely. Maybe you could even lower your startup power too.

that must be why no one is selling that board. but I want the HD one to properly fix my mob7 walksnail. I lost two superbee boards in 3 months and just figure it doesnt have the girth to handle the bigger motors and weight of the VTX.

In Betaflight Motors tab do you have the MOTOR_STOP setting enabled? My mob6 had it disabled by default. Discovered this when I disabled permanent air mode, I armed for the first time and the motors didn't start. So it could be related to whatever controls air mode
Hey Mr Burns, may I ask you for some help? I flew my Mobula6 '24 and everything was fine. I changed the lipo and suddenly I had no picture in my goggles. I opened Betaflight and got a message (something abaut settings and apply - I can't remember exactly). I pushed one of the two buttons and betaflight was "empty". I downloaded and tried two cli dumps from the Happymodel website and was 90% successful. Everthing works - but the PID-tunes are still lost. The PID-tab shows a warning, that it can cause runaways and motor damage if i will fly like that. Do you - or does anyone has the correct CLI-dump (Mobula 6 elrs v3.0 / BF 4.4.0) for me? Mobulas fly nice but the cameras are always the first to break. I have 3 mob7hd all with broken cams. So I took out the onboard DVR swapped for a Caddx nano and back in the air.
@@NickBurnsFPV yes... yes they are. I love the idea of hd recording on a tinywhoop but if the cam breaks after the slightest bump or crash its not worth it. Crashes are inevitable.

Hey Nick. I know this video has been out for a bit, but I'm guessing you still check comments. I have 2 mob6 2024s- one has the bmi gyro and one has the icm gyro. All the settings are identical except for board orientation and gyro pid loop frequency that they each require. I am using the betafpv folded batteries 300mah and have been flying the same racegow course over and over the past few days. I'm not a fast racer but am improving consistency. The mob6 with the icm gyro consistently gives me right at 5 minutes flight time and the one with the bmi consistently gives 4 minutes. Have you ever run into something like this before? 1 minute difference seems pretty significant with all else being equal. I was just interested in your thoughts.
There can be some general efficiency different even with the same components. It could also be the filters and pids should be different to increase the efficiency. I can't say with any certainty what is going on with this case, but I would lean towards filter and pid that were created for one gyro and used on the other that isn't as efficient.

I think current generation of 1s 75mm are very good. 2s introduces more weight and decreases durability, but they do fly more aggressively. For inside only 1s is the way
i recommend my current setup, sooo powerfull for a 75mm, id say id feels almost like 2s: meteor75 air frame fc of your chioce ex0802 25000kv motors 1610 bi blade props ant lite camera with mcStinky 3d printed canopy and depending on your fc choice, if it has a vtx or not, an extra vtx like tbs unify pro32 nano. on 300mahs tattus i get about 3½-4 minutes of agressive indoor flying (in my super tiny room) and 2:45 in racing in a hall. 300mahs make it soo damn light the power really shines. with 450mah betafpv lava i get around 5 minutes of flight, but you can really feel the extra weight
Time to crash test so the newbs can see how well it will hold up? From one Nick to another...we need more videos showing how well they hold up to the average flier.
The meteor65 pro has the 35mm props. That makes it able to produce more thrust and if we can handle that increase it would be more capable of faster more aggressive flights, but the flights will be shorter than the mobula 6 2024. The Meteor65 pro will also weight more, so that could mean greater impacts with the additional weight and thrust which could ultimately compromise durability. So with all that. I think if one just wants the most aggressive indoor flight the meteor65 pro would be the choice, if we are willing to sacrifice flight time and potentially durability.

Another question off topic if please: I got Firefly 1.6DC and a friend plugged battery for a second reversed polarity. Slight smoke appeared. Then one of the motors start slight shake, but no spin, then another motor did the same. In ESC-configurator when I give more power(where you test motors and directions) they did spin(I guess motors are fine), but then they didn't spin anymore, but show some life. I tried to reflash the firmware - didn't help. (by the way what is best option for firmware to flash on this drone, cuz there are many options?). The other motors spin fine and react properly to throttle, VTX and controller RX are working fine. Would it be ESC burned out? Or maybe something else? What would be steps to fix it? Could you give me some suggestions pls? Please help me get in the air. Thanks!
I think this will serve you well. It has been very durable. The camera angle can be adjusted to help keep us from going to fast. Lower camera angle less natural speed
Its a bit of a complicated response. I lean towards the mobula7, but my indoor space is pretty large and well laid out for my flight style. I think if the space is smaller 65mm is easier to handle in those tighter spaces.
That is very unusual behavior, and so rare I have to wonder if there was something that was damaged, or a crash prior to switching over to the karate tune.

Hi Nick, did you find out what’s wrong with that motor not starting after crash? I have the same problem on my original analog Mobula6. I believe I do have Bluejay installed as well.
No, it continues to fly, the motor just doesn't always start up cleanly. Normally in that case I would increase bluejay startup power, but this is already set to the max.

I think they are waiting for the maker, which could be "a guy". They did have a big batch of the new prop remover...I think its called the clone. Its much more expensive.

@@NickBurnsFPV Yeah, I did a preset for QS awhile back and love the firmware a ton, the lack of support for NBD stuff (I'm still tight with them) makes it hard to do more stuff with them, but with the recent changes in BF that have me scratching my head, and Emu being stagnant, I guess I should do more for QS. My BF tunes run great, but especially for angle racers, it's really hard to recommend it and put my name on a tune/setup.

actually just ordered this a few hours ago! wanted to get this thing just to use as spare parts and to use the aio for my Hachidorii V2 75mm Frame but i might end up keeping it as it is. oddly enough the place I ordered listed it at around 110 dollars. also not sure if this will help but increasing dynamic idle may help with motors spin up when arming

The 65 pro uses 35mm props if I recall correctly, This is fly more aggressively, making it less useful inside for some, but better outside.

But wouldn't it always be twichy if a motor wire were to be broken? In my case sometime its fine.
i found the wire breaks inside the insulation, the broken ends mostly touch each other, hence the intermittent power.

Maxing out startup power on 0802 and 0702 motors has been the recommendation for a while now, not surprising manufacturers are taking it on board

By the way- both are updated to BF 4.5 and both fly great. Other than the difference in flight time, I can't tell which one I'm flying.

I think current generation of 1s 75mm are very good. 2s introduces more weight and decreases durability, but they do fly more aggressively. For inside only 1s is the way

i recommend my current setup, sooo powerfull for a 75mm, id say id feels almost like 2s:

1610 bi blade props
ant lite camera with mcStinky 3d printed canopy
and depending on your fc choice, if it has a vtx or not, an extra vtx like tbs unify pro32 nano.
on 300mahs tattus i get about 3½-4 minutes of agressive indoor flying (in my super tiny room) and 2:45 in racing in a hall.
300mahs make it soo damn light the power really shines. with 450mah betafpv lava i get around 5 minutes of flight, but you can really feel the extra weight

Oh boy do I have a lot of crashes. I could put together a no audio crash reel, it would likely be exhaustive but could help others feel more at ease.

Mobula6 2024 vs Meteor 65 pro which is better for indoor flying..😮
The meteor65 pro has the 35mm props. That makes it able to produce more thrust and if we can handle that increase it would be more capable of faster more aggressive flights, but the flights will be shorter than the mobula 6 2024. The Meteor65 pro will also weight more, so that could mean greater impacts with the additional weight and thrust which could ultimately compromise durability. So with all that. I think if one just wants the most aggressive indoor flight the meteor65 pro would be the choice, if we are willing to sacrifice flight time and potentially durability.
@@NickBurnsFPV Great thanks for your advice. I made a Racegow2 track, so I needed a controlable Tiny Hoop. I already have a Meteor 75 Pro, but this is so strong that it's hard to control

Another question off topic if please: I got Firefly 1.6DC and a friend plugged battery for a second reversed polarity. Slight smoke appeared. Then one of the motors start slight shake, but no spin, then another motor did the same. In ESC-configurator when I give more power(where you test motors and directions) they did spin(I guess motors are fine), but then they didn't spin anymore, but show some life. I tried to reflash the firmware - didn't help. (by the way what is best option for firmware to flash on this drone, cuz there are many options?). The other motors spin fine and react properly to throttle, VTX and controller RX are working fine.
Would it be ESC burned out? Or maybe something else? What would be steps to fix it? Could you give me some suggestions pls? Please help me get in the air. Thanks!
smoke is always an indicator of damage. If anything doesn't work 100% then its damaged. There isn't a software fix for physical damage.

I think this will serve you well. It has been very durable. The camera angle can be adjusted to help keep us from going to fast. Lower camera angle less natural speed

Its a bit of a complicated response. I lean towards the mobula7, but my indoor space is pretty large and well laid out for my flight style. I think if the space is smaller 65mm is easier to handle in those tighter spaces.

Love your vids. I tried the Karate tune on my mob 6 2024 and it power cycled right after take off. Do you know why?
That is very unusual behavior, and so rare I have to wonder if there was something that was damaged, or a crash prior to switching over to the karate tune.
So when I reloaded the factory PIIDS, it was fine. Well sluggish but as it was.

Hi Nick, did you find out what’s wrong with that motor not starting after crash? I have the same problem on my original analog Mobula6. I believe I do have Bluejay installed as well.
No, it continues to fly, the motor just doesn't always start up cleanly. Normally in that case I would increase bluejay startup power, but this is already set to the max.
If you have modes on a switch, sometimes you can get it to spin up in stability mode, then switch back to acro and take off.

I think they are waiting for the maker, which could be "a guy". They did have a big batch of the new prop remover...I think its called the clone. Its much more expensive.

I'll fix that...and yeah, with Emuflight kind of trailing off, and not really loving the direction of Betaflight for Whoops, I haven't really felt the desire to fight against it all. @@NickBurnsFPV Yeah, I did a preset for QS awhile back and love the firmware a ton, the lack of support for NBD stuff (I'm still tight with them) makes it hard to do more stuff with them, but with the recent changes in BF that have me scratching my head, and Emu being stagnant, I guess I should do more for QS. My BF tunes run great, but especially for angle racers, it's really hard to recommend it and put my name on a tune/setup.
@@NickBurnsFPV and yeah, up in Oregon now, and most of my spare time is working on the property (we have LOTS of animals now) and hanging out in the woods take up a lot of my time. :P One of these days I'll release the 2s 65mm whoop when everyone realizes high kv 1s 65mm is diminishing returns...haha.
actually just ordered this a few hours ago! wanted to get this thing just to use as spare parts and to use the aio for my Hachidorii V2 75mm Frame but i might end up keeping it as it is.
oddly enough the place I ordered listed it at around 110 dollars.
also not sure if this will help but increasing dynamic idle may help with motors spin up when arming
