Back then I worked at a feed mill in Masham, sometimes in the weighbridge. Those ERFs were favoured by local small companies & owner operators for leading grain. Most overweight load I saw was 45 tonnes all up, that was one of Hymas's which had come off one of their own farms. About the same time one of Kettlewell's lads got collared in London of all places at 54. tonnes. 38 is what they should have been.

I didn't realise you have had a few ERFs over here as well as likes of your Pete over the water. Can I ask, I'm just about to buy a E series with an L10 in that's been sat for 15 years. Anything to look at engine wise, before I fire it up.

I'd look at the oil and check the coolant. Get it running before you buy it and let it run up to temperate then check the coolant and water again.
Generally l10 is a good engine, the grey erf I had was an l10 and it sat for 5 years when I bought it. It needed a full service and was ok after that.

@@rjhtrucking5429 When I first looked at it, I checked the oil and water, oil seemed good no cream or no water on it like, I think it will be ok to be honest. Find out when I get a set of batterys on it mind. Its one of these wagons you can tell hasnt had a hard life. Hopefully it goes well and it will be coming to the channel.
