  • My Marshall recently stopped Marshalling...
While it's off at the tech I figured I'd take a quick detour from demoing pedals and demo an amp instead. Then I figured why not throw another guitar in the mix as well.
The amp is a 1970 Univox U1226 60watt head with a matching U1205 2x12 cabinet. It's my first time playing through it with the channels jumped. I like the way it sounds though I'm not sure what "jumping the channels" is actually doing. Both the Tremolo and Reverb on this thing rule and it's extremely loud even without the channels jumped. It's two-tone blue with purple and orange, vertically striped grill cloth because everyone knows that color scheme sounds better than the black and grey version...right?
The guitar is a 1970s Musima 25k Deluxe, made in East Germany (DDR). Word on the street is the "k" stands for Kinder (as in German children) since it's a slightly smaller scale than standard. It was missing a bridge pickup when I bought it from this dude in Ukraine, but now it's got a DiMarzio Hot Rail in there. It's set up so I can use both pickups at once for a P90 type sound or just the bridge, by turning one of the knobs. The other knob is a master volume. There's another knob that's sort of like a rotary EQ but I don't mess with that one.
My phone seems to be super-compressing the audio because of how loud I was playing (and how close the phone was), but it was much more dynamic in the room than it sounds here.
Thanks for checking out my channel.
