      @@Noahs_Chairwhat a good way to phrase it
      Yeah its basically a backstab that can trigger randomly even on face punches that can stun enemies instead of kill them, but works even through uber as long as the enemy is touching the ground, and not actively taunting already. The main downside is that you arent the spy or scout who has mobility doing these stun backstabs, you are the slowest class in the game, making it difficult to get yourself in such a position and actually do something useful past that one moment instead of just dying. You get to send one, maybe two important enemies into a laughing fit for like 5 seconds ish, then you die because youre way too far ahead of your now pushed back team, instead of using the gru or fists of steel and just getting back to your new front lines, or just playing pyro and airblast the uber back 13 miles

      In spanish the GRU are the "Guantes de Rapidez Ultraterrena" (Gloves of Ultraterrestrial Rapidity), and the KGB are the "Kañoreros Guantes de Boxeo", the literal translation is "Gunners Boxing Gloves" but 'kañon', actually 'cañón', is an idiom for 'cool', so it'd be "Kool Gloves of Boxing"

      It breaks my heart that Finnish just doesn't have words that fit both the weapon and what it does. The problem starts with G, as the language has very little usage of the letter, let alone as the first letter of a word. We may be able to stretch it a little, to use gorilla somehow. Strong animal, guess it fits heavy somehow?
      Then we get to R. It's quite a lot easier, as we can use either reipas, which means brisk, or we can use rukkaset, which is one word for gloves.
      But U gives trouble again. Because of Finnish grammar rules, we have to come up with a word for gloves that start with U, or break the rules entirely which makes the name awkward
      Best I can reall think of would be Gorillan Reippaat Rukkaset, but that would make the acronym GRR.

    THANK YOU. I've heard the arguments about the GRU changes, but I've always found them to be a welcome change. I wouldn't call the rebalance a nerf either, since the GRU is now significantly better at retreating without having to worry about a cross-map mini-crit. It's worse for rolling out, sure. But in Casual when there's going to be an Engineer most of the time, you don't need to roll out after the first time and it's a buff in most other cases. I've been using this version of the GRU since the change and I'm going to keep enjoying it.

    I think the two unsung upsides of the Jungle Inferno changes are the lack of noticeable downside when at low health and running away (as mentioned at 7:48), since you'll likely take as long to heal up as your health will to fill up anyway, and the fact that you can make quick positioning changes in wide-open spaces without fear of negating enemies' damage falloff
    Also, it feels good to see a "I disagree with you" take regarding Zesty's opinions for once, rather than a shitfit tirade about him as a person

I want to point out how gunboats is extremely centralizing and arguably has little to no downside as it allows soldiers to divebomb but retain more health while still using their primary at the same effectiveness for attack, which even makes it kind of throw off the balance of bypassing soldier's poor mobility at the cost of health as you mentioned earlier... generally speaking soldier can do a lot more with gunboats than a shotgun, I think that might even be why so many soldiers seem to just pretend using a shotgun is a non-option when faced with a pyro who can airblast lol.

    With heavy being the anchor of his team, it only makes sense to run the dalokohs over everything because you are able to stay in the fight longer for multiple reasons, 1. you probably are over healed already from eating it, 2. the recharge rate allows you to throw out the lunchbox more often, especially allowing you to keep your medic alive against aggressive teams and pyros, 3. as you mentioned here the heal rate you get from switching from the gru and eating the sandvich, allow you to heal up while the speed will allow you to keep up with the rest of your team. works with or without a medic

    @ChizuruMinamoto Před měsícem +2

    The main issue with the GRU is that, it's either that, or the fists of steel. Because mainly, who the hell with any braincell is gonna allow Heavy to melee them? He's the slowest class, just turn around and run away, and Heavy's melee is now useless.
    It's not the other melee weapons are bad per say. Like the KGB are notably pretty good on paper. But the issue remains that unless you're doing a gimmick tactic with the buffalo steak... Almost nobody is going to try and enter melee range of a Heavy if they don't have a dying wish.
    And if they do, you minigun shreds them anyway. It's kinda like people going in melee range of a Pyro. Even scout doesn't have to do that, and he's the only class that has the mobility to go in and out of that range without taking too much damage. And again it's not even necessary.

    Yeah Zesty's take on it was max cap. Bro just kinda admitted he doesn't know how to use them proper.
    If you're dying on rollout because of the GRU, that's on you for not taking better notice of the game state around you and holding them out for too long as a result. Always put them away a little earlier than you think when approaching the front and you'll be fine.
    Even if you're a little squishy by then, it's usually okay to just pause for a little but to regenerate. As much as I know you want to hear hitsounds as soon and as often as possible, you can stand to wait around for just a moment before jump revving around that corner. As a medic player, I know all too well how some (read, a lot of) players just can't be patient for a second or two only for it to bite them in the ass mere seconds later because they desperately need to chase that dopamine.
    But yeah, in literally every other instance besides rollout, the new GRU are just an objective upgrade from what they used to be.

    I feel like the new GRU is actually better for something that nobody really mentions about playing Heavy: fear factor. Most of the strategy in winning fights as Heavy relies on your enemy not knowing whether you have 100 health or 300. You can win most fights even with 100 health just by standing your ground. It's the whole "power perceived is power achieved" thing.
    With the old GRU, having a marked for death symbol on your head directly communicates to your enemy that you're weak and can get killed in a few potshots. Sure the health drain on the new GRU sucks, but nobody really knows how much health you have (except for spies). If you keep fighting your health will eventually fill back up anyway.

    Heres how a round would be ---- You spawn as enginer choose a space a bit behind were all the usual sentrys spots are , and make a dispenser basicly that thats 30 seconds to make hit it whit a wrench --- To make a leader it costs 200 scrap --- the non leader robots 100 the barracks spiderling 50 Make the Agressor Leader whit his bodys follow you send him to battle or prepare a spider army whit D robots , maybe put some cameras sneaky and have a B robot help your team know where the enemy is, Send on your Sniper that gets harrased a few type C protector robots to heal him , Prepare a Melee army of 8 spiders of type D ----- Maybe send 3 aggresors and 5 spiderlings from barracks . nest has 300 hp ------
    THE CSM is a complex menu that doesnt do justice whit how exactly this will be used ------ You can order spiderlings takes 5 seconds per spider to be produced -- Choose what type --- Chose who to go to --- Like a RTS game --------- in a real game
    i make the nest ---i feed it enough metal --- Make a type B leader put it near some rocks to check my nest or the battlefield, order 12 agressors select 3 -- MOVE -- Player -- ME type: Follow - Fast and now i have 3 sentrys whit 10 hp that shoot 1 dmg , then i select the other and make them follow the Sniper player so if me and my 3 other spiders die the 3 other that i ordered will imediatly be fabricatet and go to sniper
    Metal Expensive - Mobile - Army - Cool - Sounds more like a MVM map than a item

    Missed strat: you can convert the dahlokas into a full heal +50 overheal by first spam switching to gru to decrease your max hp. For that alone its better to pair w/ GRU than other lunchboxes. Give it a try next time you escape on low hp.

    One thing I love about the Dalokoh's bar is that it pairs so perfectly with the GRU since it almost mitigate's the GRU's health drain penalty

    The GRU and the Fist-Of-Steel feel like TF2's balance in a nutshell: you're not allowed to have a good upside (make no mistake, movement speed and defense are amazing upsides in almost any game) without SERIOUS downsides to really make you think twice

    Completely unrelated to the video, but at 5:15 there's a message on chat about teams being unbalanced and I just realised I cannot recall last time I was asked to voluntarily switch teams. Did I forget about a patch removing that or was it just not documented?

    Next video idea: In defense os the crusaider's crossbow
    I thin its super underrated. The ranged heal is realy helpful and its burst heal at short range is even better than the medigun's. But yeah it don't have the same power as the stock serynge gun but I think more people should give it a try.

    I simply don't like how we can't tell if an enemy heavy has their health reduced. In the case of the previous GRU, you knew that someone was marked for death, obviously because of the symbol.
    It just *feels* like a mechanic that was put on afterwards if we cannot easily discern that it's happening right in front of us, you know?

    • @RdTrler
      @RdTrler Před měsícem

      @@juicejooos The old GRU was honestly pretty strong in 100% crit servers, or any time where you were liable to get crit. Headshots, Kritzkriegs, Bushwackas, Jarate, Fan O' Wars, Buff Banners, Skullcutters, Phlogs... really any time where your 300 health was gonna disappear anyway.
      Might as well move faster and surf that damage, right? Meanwhile the health drain isn't just converting an enemy's Jarate into an excuse to run urgently.

  • @micahnightwolf
    @micahnightwolf Před měsícem

    You can just nope.avi that health drain by eating the chocolate or fish cake when you get wherever you're going. It's not even a problem. And when you have a medic shoved up your fart factory like most heavies do, the health drain matters even less.
