- This is not your average 8N Ford!
Curtis from the Orlando, Florida area has an extreme passion for classic Ford tractors. His favorite ford is his heavily modified 8N which has several unique features. Curtis removed the original engine and replaced it with a Ford V8 engine similar to the Funk Conversions from the same time period. This increased the horsepower from about 30 to 85 horsepower. Other conversions to his tractors include a modified exhaust system, front wheel assist conversion, a Sherman transmission which has 12 forward gears and three reverse gears and duals on the rear wheels. Curtis' tractor is a 1952 model, the last production year for the 8N Ford.

THAT is how you "hotrod" a tractor. That couple gets it. Well executed!
This tractor has all the bells and whistles, more power, more speeds, 4 wheel drive, dual wheels, nice paint, etc.!
I believe I'd keep that Gal, she sure knows how to make them beautiful!
Was raised with flathead Ford V8's....love that sound. Really sweet with the blower.....lotta work in that tractor.
@Terry Melvin Haha! I bet.
This is by far my favorite custom tractor I’ve seen in emerald years!
You and your wife have a great talent. I love the look of those old Ford 8n models with the flathead V8s. Great work.
My dad rebuilt a lot of 8Ns and 9Ns during the 80's, Can't wait to show him this.
We had a Ford 8N for many years since the early 60s. It got used a lot and quite beat up. We sold it in 2013 to a retired gentleman who restored it. He was a body shop many for many years and really did a number on it. He showed it to us and offered it sell it back to us for much higher price. It looked like new again. Also ran like new again. What a beautiful little tractor. I'd love to have an 8N with the Funk conversion V8.
tractor + gearhead = this magnificent machine. great job curtis
Hats off for actually using it! Outstanding!
Who in the world could give this a thumbs down? That is a wonderful creation- reproduction. COOL in every sense.
Probably the purists. If this were some super rare tractor that was cut up I could see the disdain. But ford 8N and 9N's are EVERYWHERE. It's really a testament to their popularity and longevity of the series to see how many of them are still out there, and in running condition. I think both are very cool modifications. I've got an old 641 Workmaster and I have to admit as dead reliable as that tractor is I could certainly use that 6-cylinder's horsepower when fighting both high brush and the up-hill bits on the property. :)
Bloody North Korean’s 👎
Some John Deere guys got their nose out of joint.
Should be origanal
Yep, a 189 pure Dumbasses!
I did work for a man and his wife in Phx AZ ...they owned a body shop...but had this tractor they put a flat head V-8 in...fantastic job...it looked pristine!!!
Maaaan... I dig this Traktor!!! Flathead V-8,With a blower, stacks that make it sound even MORE Awsome. Dual treads on the rear, and drive on both axels!! Awsome build!!! 👍🤘
I learned to drive on my Grandfathers 8N Ford tractor.
I used to hold the steering wheel on it in my Grandpap’s lap when I was a toddler. I was pretty good at steering, too.
Al Patzke I learned on my dads 8N when I was 6
All 3 tractors are beautiful, I didn't know they made a 6 cylinder conversion for them either, but the cream of the crop is the V8 supercharged 4wd one, that is one beautiful tractor.
Steven Spaziani there is a 6 cylinder for sale in Minnesota
Very nice front wheel assist.
Nice workmanship on the blown flathead and your wife has an eye for detail.
Ive seen lots of v8 swapped 8n's but this one takes the cake that is a cool tractor
I really like that. The mid 30s Ford spoke wheels on the front are an awesome touch.
A guy in Michigan has one with a 302, 318,350,a gold wing engine,a small jet engine and one with a world record with the most gears.
A very impressive collection
Beautiful 8N Flathead ! Thank you for sharing 🇺🇸🚜🇺🇸
Incredible build!
Thanks for sharing
Now that looks like fun!!
An 8N was the very first motor powered vehicle that I ever drove in my lifetime. It was on the Westgate Golf Course just south of Chicago. I worked on the grounds crew as a kid.
Look at that Flat head V-8 With the Blower ! WOW.
That's so cool, Flathead V-8 8N. Looks absolutely beautiful, I just love the sound of it. The flat 6 is very cool too, that is a heck of a upgrade. The 8N is my favorite tractor. My dad had one when I was a young teen, I spent a quit a few hours on it. Fast forward to today, at 81 years he has a Ford Jubilee that he uses around his home for basic chores.
Thanks for sharing this video of your classic Ford's. 👍
Those Fords were some of the best looking tractors ever!
Work of art. Attention to detail is over the top.
I have seen many many pictures of this tractor but no video until now thanks for sharing
Beautiful work! Well done!
Beautiful job, nice to see the wife getting involved.
Lucky man
well done and great detailing - a very nice tractor !
I am not a Ford guy, but these deserve the respect of us all as powerhouse workhorses of their day!
Oh wow that's a beautiful tractor. Great job !!
Awesome, you’ve made a 1 of kind, it looks great and sounds great!. Good job
Cool custom Ford 8Ns...
It sounds magnificent!
thats pretty wicked, a tractor thatll scratch the duals when you take off.
I saw a flathead v8 8n at a tractor pull a few years ago. She was a ripper!
I've never been into tractors, even though I was born in Arkansas and I've even picked and chopped cotton, but this Ford tractor would cause me to 'stray', lol. Thanks for sharing.
Whoa ! that is Thee *Mac-Daddy* of all N tractors 🚜
Really love the souped up Ford Funk Tractor. Awesome.
I am no ford enthusiast but I gave this a thumbs up for sure. Great creation
That's one wild 8N! 👍👍
Whoooooa !!!
Awesome looking FORD !!!
My 1951 8N has the 12 speed Sherman transmission on it. Thank you for mentioning that transmission. I've only had it in 8th gear and it will do 28 mph, which is fast enough for me.
My grandpa passed in 81 left my dad the family farm he had an 8n with v6 conversations we also have a 33 Massey Harris with a v8 conversations I got the Massey trike to about 20 one time on black top everything I could do to hold on and get it stopped scared me to death and I spent and hour reloading hay wagon I dumped all down the ditch
Tim Allen is very proud of you.HAHA!!.
Very cool tractor, nothing was mentioned about the"optional"4-wheel assist.(I know this feature didn't exist back in 1952)
I like how the center exhaust baffle on the flatty stays wide open at idle do to the center cylinders sharing that pipe
Man! Love those 8N’s👍
NOW that was a cool good lookin tractor
here where I live, a lot of them are still in use
Where you at? Same here in way upstate ny
I see a neighbour of sorts that has an original 8N. He uses it to plow the rural roadways and driveways during our brutal winters. During our extremely harsh springs, he uses it to pull vehicles out of washed out roads covered in thick mud, vehicles stuck in foods, and to pull downed trees off roads, houses, and other vehicles. In summer, he still uses it like a standard tractor. He lives on that tractor. It has never let him down.
Awesome build on this awesome tractor...
That is tight! Way cool👍👍 love it.
That is bad ass! Nice build I would use it for a daily driver.
Outstanding !
Just wow that's awesome thanks bud 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸
how cool it is
I am grateful for anything that someone uses to keep a ford flathead alive and running. I grew up with them but have never out grown them and most likely never will
I love them from total classic to full hot rod. The flat head is just cool
Love them old Ford's👍
I believe I’ve got pics of this tractor from Daytona Turkey Rod Run back in mid 2000's. It was actually more impressive in real life than on this video. Very cool...
Awesome,great job!
I saw a v-8 8n at the Eaton pork fest in Ohio years ago doing wheelies and thought it was the coolest tractor ever. You sir have reset the bar...
My father has an 8N, doesn’t look anything like those beauties 😍
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
Sounds awesome
That’s cool and the 6 cylinder is something I would like now.
4WD 8n: How COOL is that?!? LOVE IT!!!!!
It's awesome, sure beats the gutless one I had to drive as a kid.
If my grandpa would've had a tractor like this, he would've plowed up the entire town. 😄
Nice looking flattie. Well done.
That is truly cool.
Very cool!
Superb
I'm not even a ford man but thats a bad ass ford tractor!
Had a 1950 8N. We farmed with it for yrs. I know. one thing for a fact, you better be darn fast to feed a tobacco setter behind our 8N. Low gear(1st) on the 8N was like a low 3rd on our 3600 Ford. Boy did we sure love our 3600. 😂😂
Sure do miss the old days of farming. Really good looking tractors. 👍
I saw a lincoln v12 in a ford like that at the big show in Portland Ind once. It was impressive
That v8 flathead is badass.
Love that thing! My grandpaw had two of them when they quit using mule teams. Then went to a John Deere g next.
I had heard of the ford v8 tractor but thought they were a very small factory run. Had no idea it was an aftermarket factory approved conversion!
That's really cool.
I'm not a Ford guy but I still like this video.
Wow you’re really special
Wow that a great tractor 🚜🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wow these are nice!!!
Awsome. Love em. I got a 1953
Thumbs Up liked, Merry Christmas to you also.
A fine Ford 8n with the flat head, 4wd conversion and Sherman.
That was that was awesome
Good stuff.
Bad ass. Love the old flatheads
Cool fords!!!
Really cool
The Sherman transmission in road gear will go around 30 mph with the factory 4 cyl.
Sherman made 3 versions, underdrive, overdrive, and both. I know for a fact the OD will do 45 and maybe faster. At 45 on pavement it takes everything you got to keep from being bucked off.
I like all of the tractors on this video. The 3rd is a tractor that I dream about. Supercharged flathead V8 with 4wd. Thank you.
Could close my eyes and operate this from childhood memory...
That is Too Cool!
Great video I love the old Ford tractors. I really like your ford's specially the 4 will drive. I have a 600 serials 650 Ford tractor.🚜👍
awesome!!!!
I’m amazed someone in Orlando does anything with a tractor. Unless your from Oviedo
My Grandpa had one of those, with the exact same 2 bottom plow lol. No flathead or blower on his though :)
I have an 8n this gives me hope 👍👍
