The menial of the inquisition larp is one of my fav parts of his vids XD.
For all his empty words to the contrary, the Emperor of Mankind doesn't share said loathing Evidently. He sends his saints out dressed as angels and hasn't once had them tell the troops that he isn't a god. How hard would it have been for him to have had Celestine or Macharius turn to the Troops at the conclusion of a battle and say "The Emperor is a man, The eccleasiarchy is a lie, and he commands that you stop worshiping him!" Its a good thing that the emperor's soul is fragmented throughout the warp, because if was all in one place his hypocrisy would collapse into a black hole under it's own weight.
@@jamesperkins2552 That is because the living saints do think that the emperor is a god. Also, if Guileman can not do that I doubt that a living saint has more success.

Lorgar, in hindsight, would have been considered the Emperors most devote and unquestionable if only he had been a little more discrete for a few years.
The true irony is it took longer to fall to ture the emperor in to a god .as before he was no god for a god get his power from worship .
I don’t think so. OI, and others have inferred that the atheism of the imperial truth was designed to “starve” the minions of chaos. And lorgar was the one who started the ball of ruination rolling.
@@DorkimusMaximus-cc9xu Doesn't really work like that, a warp God like the Emperor needs worship to channel the emotional energy into them but the Dark Pantheon are sustained by basic emotion. Worship helps focus those emotions even more, someone being messily killed with an axe is meat and potatoes for Khorne but done by a follower, for the express intent of doing it for Khorne is the sweet desert.
The main reason for Chaos Cultists and followers is how they go out and create the emotional energy by doing the things to create it, "worship" or knowledge of the being isnt necessary. Not even for the actual birthing of a Chaos God, Slaanesh was never worshiped for example but being the Emperor of Mankind isn't an emotional state that creates a psychic echo in the warp.
34:45 This is absolutely masterful acting. The difference between creator and creation ceases to exist as Oculus' character becomes just as absolutely exasperated with the lunacy of the 40k universe as he himself is, making the facade crack. I know that feel, bro.

9:00 THIS is important: it was _neccessary_ to find a unique emotional space apart from the Ruinous Powers. What was left, given the circumstances of the Heresy, Siege, and Scouring, was Hate. This aligns with Emps being The Great Anathema to Choas. And considering the anti-theism of The Imperial Truth, it occurs to me that Games Workshop may have taken every _attribute_ of Malal they could get away with and mesh into the Emperor without getting sued by the owner of that particular IP.

Every time I run into a 40k fan or someone who’s just getting into 40k, this is literally the first channel I always suggest they check out.
No one else does lore this good and in character none the less

In fact, I've read a couple of old BL tales where certain locations in the warp are more like paradise.

A project I am certain he will work on. At the very least, we are getting videos on the XIIth Legion Ultramarines, and likely the 500 World of Ultramar as well.
@@LordCommander-ui2fw Herein lies difficulty, as due to Lord Reagants existance and contact it would have to be saga eclipsing this of Prospero. Ultramar, Lord Reagant himself ( 2 videos - until death and after resurrection), Ultramarines (history and tactis - two videos), Codex Astartes .... and Lord Reagant's and Inquisition reaction to all this. Probably, conversation with Custodes for good measure. Also remember, how our author skilfully works as uncertain narrator (masterfully done in Ordo Sinister) - and here, this is gone, as Lord Reagant can provide accurate records.
Aye few hands hath as much influence on the Imperium as The Lord of Ultramar. To chronicle his life would be no small task.
@@piotrd.4850 While I agree that to cover it all in one go would be a bit much, I do think there is room for things to be spread out. I think we could expect a video on Ultramar around the same time as the Ultramarine Legion videos, given how intrinsically linked the two are, but everything else will have more in between. The Codex video probably won't come out for a good while. And I think doing a video on the Lord Regent himself would be an interesting change of pace for the Oculus, as he himself would note the irregularity of having an actual first-hand account from the Primarch himself.

The topic of Living Saints is fascinating and I love all the possibilities they could have lore and model wise. I wonder if we'll get a Saint Yarrick one day...

he appears sometime before an ork attack readying the defenses and fighting side by side by the defenders. whether the emperor or the ork gods sent him (looking for a better fight) is still unknown
It is a wonderful but bitter character arc that the more Oculus explores his reality, its nature and its history, the more cynical he becomes. His path will doubtlessly send him into deeper and deeper despair, but I would love to see whether he will push through the darkness and find something worth all his efforts at the end.
It's gotten to the point where I hit like on Oculus's videos before I hit play, I just know there gonna be good.
The Oculus, after getting depressed over studying the atrocities of the Horus Heresy and the Miserable Slaughters of the Siege of Vraks, deicides to try and cheer himself up by regaling the tales of the noble saints of the imperium.
Now he’s researched himself into another existential crisis and is depressed all over again. Perhaps recounting the valiant deeds of the loyal legions during the Heresy might cheer him up…
I think we should call the 'saints' as what they are - Imperial Neverborn formed from the belief of trillions and crystallising around the psyche of one particularly pious individual

I wonder how this nuanced concept of living saints squares with the Heretic Saint Ephereal Stern? She IS a psyker but also manifests powers that are beyond that of any conventional psyker and her faith cannot be questioned by any who's own faith is sufficient to place them in the postion to ask the questions?

Punching bags that can be killed at any time in the story to show how strong the main character is?
In a way the apotheosis of the Emperor is damaging Chaos , since his worship diverts belief away from the Chaos gods.
Unfortunately, the Man-Emperor's Imperial Truth stripped humanity of its natural defenses. He starved the human gods without seriously impacting the Chaos Gods. If anything, destroying mankind's religions allowed more to fall into worship of the Chaos Gods. Worse, in his quest to destroy the Chaos Gods he gave to them six of his sons.
