As a seller on Whatnot if someone was to honestly write me and say that that was a mistake and they tried to enter $22 I would totally would have approved the cancelation if they requested it.
But sometimes people do it just to help you out and support the show so it’s really nice!
Yeah I think it’s a lot more common now, but back then the seller never responded to my request.
A seller cancelled my purchase earlier when I bid 80 when I meant to bid 20 (was on the app for a while so phone lagged). Sellers like you are what keep whatnot going for collectors/enthusiasts on a budget. Idk if you're still selling on there but if you are I hope your business is thriving

You can ask for a refund before they rip so you could've avoided paying that much if you bid by accident. I sell on whatnot and we don't lock you in until you say rip. So before you say anything more bad about Whatnot get your facts straight. Thank you
I did this on eBay twice recently. Once I bid $52 on a lot of 2 mystery cubes and won it at $40. Turns out the guy made a mistake and it was for only one cube. He tried to only give me 25% back for a refund. I contacted eBay and they gave me back my money because of how shady he was being. And the big one is I bid $2600 on a 4 pack lot. I cancelled that real fast. Stupid phone glitched and my stupid fingers.

Sounds like he was mad about losing 2 cubes for only 40. I hear that's a pretty common thing to do on bidding websites is if it's not enough money they'll just pretend like there's a reason why they can't send it
I've done that too they normally are cool about it and cancel the bid and redo the bid. I've got a shinning fates pack today for 4 bucks. Actually I've got a bunch ofbgood deals just got to wait it out sometimes. Also it was cool to see you on that app btw.

Yeah it happens. They now have a way to set a custom max bid if you want to prevent this from happening.

You have to realize what you’re doing with the title. It makes it seem like whatnot is a bad app. Obviously you mean that you yourself made a mistake while bidding… but think about how damaging that title could be
Sometimes people have done that on my streams. lol But I've always refunded accidents as long as they speak up before I open packs for them.

You know you can swipe too instead of typing a number in right? 💀
Back then, there was no swipe. It was a button. And usually when it’s sudden death, it’s smarter to type it in manually (unless of course you type the wrong number). But bottom line, this video was made 3 years, and WhatNot has changed a lot.
That’s why you never do those kind of bids. Do the auto bud it’s only 2-5 bucks more and it adds 10 seconds the last 10 seconds when a bud is placed most of the time so make sure to be smart with how you auction. Bad thumbnail making whatnot look bad. Even though this want 100% on you. And most people allow cancelations if you say it was an accident

I was thinking the same, safer just to keep clicking bid. Especially it’s all happening so fast it’s easy to make a typo on custom.
you should of refunded and told the streamer....i sell on whatnot all the time and would do that. its the same if you streamed on twitch and someone donated 100 instead of 10. its not whatnots fault
I've actually done the same thing and they refunded me. Just saying.. should have asked for a refund or said hey that was a accident. I'm sure they would have made it right.
Unfortunately, the seller wouldn’t give a refund. But this was almost 2 years ago tho.

Yeah I don’t do any of those pull games or duck races on there - they’re scams. But I do buy singles often and get a lot of good deals.

Each seller is different. Many of the ones that I deal with ship out the next day. But usually I get them between 3 days to a week later.
I've been buying singles and been getting some really good deals but the bounty stuff is dumb
My only problem with whatnot it won't let me close out and go to another seller. Real buggy. Could be my phone tho

They let you cancel the bid so tech you didn’t have to buy it
You can request cancellation, but the seller doesn’t have to approve it

Cancel the bid. Takes a few days to get your money back. Technically If you pay 10 times the worth you can get a refund no questions asked
Yeah WhatNot has changed quite a bit since I made this video. At the time, even if you tried to cancel, the seller could just ignore it.
I never do custom bids I always do the recommended about which is like 2 dollars higher then current bid

I had the same thing happen to me but with a Nintendo 64 game it was a 12 dollar game but I accidentally put 50 meant to put 5 dollars 😭 luckily I got outbid and someone got it for 60 bucks

They’re real. If you ever somehow received fake cards from a seller on WhatNot, they’re support team would refund you. But I’ve never heard of this happening.
Haha actually used the bid button after someone mistakenly typed $130 so it made me the highest bidder at like $136 for a shining fates pack lol luckily he actually canceled the order.

I think it would be pretty hard to get away with selling fakes on WhatNot. It has a real community aspect to it, so I’m pretty sure the community would spot it pretty quick. I think you’re actually more likely to get legitimate product on WhatNot because you actually are getting to see the cards/packs on the livestream. Often you’ll get to see with your own eyes them being pulled from a fresh ETB or booster box.
