- Dragonball Z Burst limit sadly a game that the devs seems to have forgotten. With so much left on the table for this game we have come to the end of the dbz story covered in the game with the final battle between Cell and Gohan! Today we dive in and see what else was left behind in this game!

Man one of my core memories as a youngin was finishing the Cell saga of this game, seeing King Cold and Mecha Frieza in the credits and audibly going “When did they show up?!?!”. For the longest time I legit thought I just missed something until realizing they weren’t even in the game and that my 7 year old self was lied to by the credits.
Yeah its so crazy that they just show you this stuff in the game. I remember being young and just thinking I must have missed like secret paths through the story
@@DotoDoya I think the craziest part about it is that what they showed seemed like it could have easily been put in the game. Like you said they literally show in game footage of Trunks vs mecha Frieza so I’m not sure why those fights weren’t in there. There’s one more insane example of this at the very end of the game that confused me the most as a kid. Idk how far you are in the game so I won’t spoil it if you don’t remember but you’ll definitely know it when it happens.
@@RandomPersonProbablyif I had to guess, I would say it was probably a voice over issue. They might’ve not had time to record those scenes in particular but I also have no clue where voice acting was in the process so who’s to say 🤷🏾♂️

I replayed this game so many times… I thought it was something you could unlock or something. Same goes to SS2 Goku in the last Broly battle lol

The fact that some of the story fights let you play as the villains was my favorite aspect of the short story mode
That was really cool and I need to see that in future db games that go through the main story!
Mine too, instead of "winning" fights with characters who canonically lose they just switch you to the character who wins in that moment.
Abridged Vegeta: "He'll see this fight to the end without any of our help, even if it kills him."
Abridged Goku: "I give up."
Abridged Vegeta: "I'LL KILL HIM!"
My favorite part of the Cell Saga was when Piccolo asked Piccolo to fight him so that he could get stronger.
That was a great episode for sure

I remember getting this game for the 360 from disc replay. After reading the back of the box in the car I told my mom "I couldn't wait to burst my limits when I got home". I was disappointed when I found out there was no buu saga.
I forgot about this game like three times in the past week and a half.

Cell’s VA sounds more like someone doing a Dameon Clarke impression instead of Clarke himself. Bro sounds weird af at times 😭
Doto really is refraining from saying: "They forgot to balance this character / They REALLY forgot to balance Gohan".
I always have a special love for Burst Limit because its the few properties that Acknowledges that Vegeta hit Cell with a big bang and gave Gohan that opening to go all out

They had ONE (1) awesome fight with SSJ Goku vs. Frieza and the rest of the game was so low budget and barebones. This game is remembered for nostalgia and nothing else.

Visually this game is no slouch. There are moments that contend with kakarot and I dont even think im being a fanboy saying that. The goku vs frieza fight and even bits of the goku vs vegeta!

As a kid this game got me so hype cause it was like a new budokai1 and it got me hoping for 2 more burst limit sequels kinda like how it was budokai 1 2 an 3 . Ahhh my childhood disappointment when it never happened

The warp Kamehameha is a counter attack. Unless the enemy or the computer hits you during the Ultimate, you won't teleport behind your opponent.
There are some secret sagas that can be unlocked. It's kind of like raging glasses ancestor.
The voice acting in Burst Limit is pretty underrated ngl. It has some of the best line readings out of the franchise imo.

I feel like all the game needed was more time to polish stuff and make more uniqueness to characters
and a menu where you can check your character's drama piece conditions
the devs got SO rushed. it sucks because burst limit is good and got held back from being amazing. i wish itd get a second game or just we get a new budokai that takes elements from it
Games and movies aren't made sequentially, it's entirely possible there's a ton of footage that was animated but never became levels or missions.
Happens a lot. Instead of leaving it unused maybe the credits were the only place they could be dropped.

I bet I know why they gave those cut scenes at the end of each arc. They did that as their spiteful way of saying, "Good job! Hope you had fun, but here! This is a lot of the stuff we would've loved to put in the game, but sadly weren't given enough time for it!"

In one of the original trailers for burst limit, they showed Goku go super Saiyan 2 against broly. Never made it to the game either. If infinite world was budokai 4, this could have been the perfect budokai 5 if they didn't rush and included more sagas

This game is very much feels like a game that had a ship date that WOULD NOT BE MISSED no matter what. There is a ton of stuff that is just omitted
If they were gonna hit us with a piccolo filler they should have put a driving minigame
The fact that this game came out in 2008 and Budokai 1 is like 8 years older and covers the same stuff is just sad. Not to mention the fact that throughout this whole playthrough you were using a ton of Budokai 1 music in places. Budokai 1 is the true GOAT for pre Kakarot DBZ retelling experiences (from a cinematic standpoint). Literally no other game quite touches its heights until Kakarot
They really had Duleling Piccolo's Electric Boogaloo in this game
Couldve sworn the game had a drama piece list built in. Like the ? pieces are blank until the first time you trigger them in the story missions but you could mix and match them in 2p custom load outs. Have Broly out here saving you and everything @Dotodoya

Broly and Bardock story are actually in the game, you need to move the controller to their area.
Doto is going to be hurting at the Broly fight. Idk if my memory is off or not, but it was one of the most difficult fights in the entire game.

Props for the game, that they showed base goku at the father som k.wave. Thats close to the manga, not to the anime. They knew, they didnt had the time and that is really sad.
Trunks has the sword because they couldn't make another Trunks character without. So armor Trunks is just a costume
I remember this game looking amazing as a kid but damn it still holds up.
I have a feeling this game was supposed to be an HD version of Infinite world with insane enhancements like changing how the burst mechanic back, adding heavy gut punches, bringing back ki blocking hell even had super Vegeta be an actual form. With how much they showed they cut and the quality of some of the cutscenes being top tier. I feel this game was supposed to be not just bigger, but the ambition in the gameplay probably took so much time they had to make cuts down to the cell saga like Budokai one. The gameplay is awesome in this game is really awesome when learned properly and unlike some of the earlier Dbz games it has a proper tutorial mode (Tenkaichi I’m calling you out.)
Doto to be able to do the father-son you should hit the enemy and press your ki blast button and for super saiyan Goku Instant transmission kamehama is when a opponent use a ki blast at you or any attack but you have to hold it, i dont know if it will work since it is like a game i played dragon ball shin budokai
Great win, but tbh Necro sort of played like how I would when I first started competitive. Just kind of sent stuff out and clicked. Hopefully he has better showungd in future weeks.

Dueling Piccolo's is waaay back in the Saiyan Saga and only in the Anime. I forgot it even existed because I just started reading the manga awhile ago and it's not part of it.
