I have installed two ATB's myslef and its great transformation. Including the steel sleeve for the intermedieta gears, a transfer box with ATB will surely last longer and quiter. You have to love these modifications and like you always say "making Land Rovers better one at a time". Good job mate.

All these great built parts and I'm stuck in Spain lol. Will be wonderful when I'm back stateside and can obtain some of these superior parts.
    Thanks for another insightful video!

Thank for you time Mike. Would it be possable for you to comment on state of oil after rebuild? Metal particles to expect?

There is always metal partials after a rebuild - I run them for a few hours on the bench and there is a light covering but not much, but gears need to bed it.
Even in use, you will get bits on the magnet
Nothing to worry about - it's ball bearings and teeth you should worry about!
      Lol!

That's what i had put in in California, it turned out my 1.3 gear was goosed when the bearing collapsed so i upgraded it while it was in bit's , wow what a difference..

Best thing to happen to LR's in years!
      How's the trip doing?

@@BritannicaRestorations great I'm in Colombia now just waiting for the landy to catch me up (shipping from Mexico) I've done 35.000 miles so far on this trip , just the gearbox and transfer box to go wrong and a broken fan belt 🤔 not to bad for a 33 year old landy with 312,000 on the clock 😎

Think I'm getting there with the difference now. Don't know if I'll get to the point of fitting one but all good to know.

As I mentioned in another video - if your original centre diff is unrepairable, and ATB is the same price as an aftermarket one - no-brainer!

I have one question, Mike. Can you maybe do a Test ?
If you balanced the Kardan Drive Shaft, what will happen if you grease the Length Compensation very good , I mean very good. Simulate 10 years of greasing.
I think it is going out off balancing very badly, because you fill the shaft.
    What do you think?

I had this problem, and what happened? By a certain Frequency of the road, it came to a self Frequency of the whole suspension, kicking your hands of the sreering wheel.

There should be no way the grease can get into the main shaft /tube - all LR's have a small exit hole on the sliding yoke near the UJ to let excess grease out
