    Crazy to say since this video we’ve only gotten even better , this team is legit.. Im very excited for the future and gotta tip my hat to presti for such a remarkable rebuild for what we let go of in such short turn around

    I think mark is the truth I would like too see him leave Chet in the game longer to get into a groove

    As a huge Thunder fan, I’d still like to see us get a big that’s got more meat on his bones that can get rebounds and help with with matchups against bigger centers like Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, etc. Would be fun to move Chet to the 4 for some matchups

    Well, for starters they have a center now. Even with Chet, they don't have an outstanding rebounder. Not to downplay him; he's legitimately in the top-10 current center conversation.

    • @TheDeven1000
      @TheDeven1000 Před 6 měsíci

      I know what you’re saying and I agree. We need better rebounders. I think Giddey should step it up in that area personally. He could have a better impact on the game if he did because he’s such an elite passer/playmaker. If he can get the rebound and start the fast break, I think he would have more impact and identity in this current lineup. Maybe we can bribe him with some 16 year old girls. 😂

    The short answer is honestly just that he is tying everything together for the Thunder by being the best rookie in the NBA in a very long time. He's been one of the ten best players in the league so far this year. It's insane. Also, Shai has been probably the best player (though it's close between him, Jokic and Embiid with Haliburton just a bit behind in fourth).

      @@jovanshrestha4075 Not making a general judgment on the players for their careers, just who has been the best so far this year. Luka's right there in the top ten so far and he has more career track record of success so he might well be ahead of them by the end of the year. These are all awesome players.

    • @dougbrown6952
      @dougbrown6952 Před 6 měsíci

      lol, he's not a top ten player in the league. Luka, KD, Steph, AD, Bron, Spida, Tatum, Dame, Fox, Ingram, PG, Jaylen Brown, on and on. He's having an AWESOME rookie year but let's not get carried away.

    • @thehomienicked8208
      @thehomienicked8208 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@dougbrown6952 Hey, man. I agree that in terms of overall ranking I'd have all of those guys ahead of Chet at this point. He's only been in the league for a month and change, after all. However, I don't think I'm making the hot take that you believe I'm making. I'm not saying that in a general sense I believe him to be a top ten player. Just that to this point he has been top ten in terms of what he has done on the court through the first quarter of this specific season. That is why he is helping the Thunder so much so far THIS SEASON. That is not the same thing as saying that in a general sense I believe him to be a top ten player.
      Twentyish games is a small sample size. Far too small to be conclusive in how you rank people in an overall sense, but in those twentyish games he has been better than most of the guys you listed (and probably better than a lot of other players who you'd put ahead of him in an overall sense) which is all that I was saying because it is all that is relevant in terms of how he has contributed to the Thunder doing so well. How Holmgren is helping the Thunder win this year is what this video is talking about so that is what I chose to respond to.
      Everyone from your list is awesome, but out of those guys only Luka and LeBron have been better to this point in this specific season. The models I care about have Steph and Chet about tied towards the bottom of the top ten. I'll acknowledge that I'm more of an analytics guy than a lot of people on this platform and obviously my opinion on his performance to this point is not the only way of looking at it, but Chet is valuable in a lot of ways that people underrate.
      The analytics have him as the third best defensive player in the league and only the 45th best offensive player to this point. People tend to care a lot more about offence than defence so I can understand why his elite play has gone somewhat underrated, but the man is an insane difference-maker on that end.

      @@Chill_Valentinethey're more willing to pay and go under the luxury tax now they have regretted it since then because the owners have learned their lesson, they don't wanna be cheap or repeat the same mistake again.
      OKC thru the years have paid their players like look at the 2019 OKC they gave Russ & PG13 super max contracts then extended Adams on a expensive deal while still managing to keep Schroeder as well if the Thunder did that before I doubt they don't do that with this young team that has a potential/ceiling to be a Dynasty in the making.
      If they keep them all I see their peak winning at least 5 championships together.

    He's been outstanding. Still wouldn't call him the missing piece though. We still desperately need rebounding. The reason we took a huge leap this season was 1. Chet is a huge upgrade on J Will, Poku and Kenny Hustle at the 5 and 2. Last season we were a bad three point shooting team and now we are the best in the league. Chet adds to that but everyone has brought their three ball arm to the court this season for us. And since we led the league in drives to the basket last season and are the best three point shooting team this season, defenses don't know what to do with us. Chet has already been a defensive nightmare because he was shooting 60% from three the first couple of weeks when players left him open at the arc, and then when bigs started charging him at the arc trying to block his shot he just started faking and using his handle to leave them for dead and go to the basket. And it's like that with a lot of our guys now. They can all handle the ball, shoot the ball and get to the rim.

    OKC will be penalized because of the 2nd Apron and unfortunately they wouldn't be able to keep all their guys together.

    • @jtsunami6531
      @jtsunami6531 Před 6 měsíci

      FYI the apron doesn’t mean the team gets a penalty to pay or anything like that if you don’t meet the 136$ million minimum. The team has to pay the remaining balance to reach 136$ split amongst all the players. This happened 2 years ago, and I assure you the players loved it. In my opinion one of the reasons SGA is staying is cause he knows we wanna pay the team and everyone
