- Can car washes make you money? My friend Steve just bought this car wash and he has already started the value add process. Take a tour of the facilities as we discuss what he plans to do and what the goals are.
He is already got the money rolling in week one and I am super exited for him to renovate this. Ill be stopping by on the way to my projects and seeing the progress.

Too funny, I literally looked at that wash from a distance, while we were eating at Oakhart Barbecue this afternoon. It has huge potential. Get those automatic bays up and running ASAP.
You should see what he’s done to it so far - really looks A+
Switch to 3 dollars for 5 minutes, and just work on the customer experience. The rest can come later. Automatics are INSANELY expensive to replace with new. If they're repairable, I would seriously look at fixing the ones you have or refurbished units instead. You'll spend 200K on a new in-bay automatic without breaking a sweat. And that's assuming you can find one that fits in the bays you have without modifying the structure. It gets expensive fast. Good luck on the journey!

@@jonbeemer I'm currently evaluating D&S Car Wash Systems and WashWorld. Those will both fit in my bays without having to build on to the building. Both have outstanding products. I got to see them both in person at the Car Wash Expo in TN this year.

Wait till he sees how much it costs to replace the Automatics. As far as a Cash Business goes - There is a reason SS Car Washes are adding Credit card acceptance.
He is upgrading all bays to credit cards during renovations and he did talk with a self serve consultant that did warn him of the prices. Would you tell him to delete the autos?
@@jonbeemer no way. I worked at a car wash out of high school. The autos would bring insane money. One had (1) auto and that one would bring in over 400k in business alone.
Self service wash is great and very hard to find.
get rid of the automatic part. Plenty of automatic washes available.

That is terrible advice. Automatic bays can be big money producers. I have a wash with one, and that one bay does as much as all of our other bays combined.

What kind of paint did you use for the bays ?
Any type of exterior paint that works on brick should do the trick.
How did he find the contractors to renovate
We are both in real estate and have a lot of local contractors. Specialized contractors I’m pretty sure he’s used local car wash fb groups
