    I have few kestrel spinning and four Tegmen size 2000. I like Tegman reel better. Feels more solid and smoother.

    I have one of these in 2000 and love it... Excellent quality, very smooth and every bit as good as Kastking reels.

    as usual, an excellent review, with the information that is required. otherwise, in the mass of aliexpress reel, it is a real roulette to find the right one that is worth that money. I also saw some interesting tsurinoya reels...
    how do you compare the smoothness of the work and the inertia of the movement with the classic - daiwa legalis?

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  Před měsícem

      Don't have Legalis. Say Fuegos are bit smoother but it's splitting hair here.

    The Kestrel looks nicer when it has orange line but yes the tegmen looks great. Seems like it was inspired by Daiwa TD Black MQ. The 3000 Tegmen also seems like a better option over the 3000 Tsurinoya Artemis which has a similar look and almost identical price. The problem I have with that reel is that 4kg of drag on the 3000 size just isn't enough on the Artemis.

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  Před měsícem

      Declared drag shouldn't be something be to rely on etc. on UL reels. In most cases similar sized reels will have similar real drag power. And there is more - since when 4 kg. is not enough on UL reel..

    prefer my tegmen to my kestral. for me the extra weight isn't an issue. crops up on ali express choice for around £37+tax. if you have a bit more money and don't mind the weight tsurinoya ranger is a good buy. perhaps Andrew could review that at sometime

    Nice review! That reel seems quite similar to the Piscifun Carbon X II.
    Did you already have your hands on the pisci, I wonder how it compares.
    (ordered the PureLure Sharpen after seeing your review and the Carbon X II to go with it two days ago. Excited!)

    I've ordered one of these Tegmen 2000 in the current sale. I'll be interested in comparing it with the Vanford 1000 I have, which cost 5x more.

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  Před měsícem +1

      From what I've experienced, Vanford will be a bit smoother and have easier startup but that's about it.

      @@sunnydayrealestate I have tried the Tegmen 2000 on one long session, then the next day did one on the Vanford 1000. My Tegmen is heavier than the spec- around 148g, my Vanford is 155g with braid loaded. I can't notice this weight difference. The body of the Tegmen is the same size as the Vanford- I guess the 'c' in 2000c is for compact. The Tegmen, being a 2000 size does have a bigger spool, although it is very shallow, so you don't have to put a kilometre of thin braid on to fill it. The biggest thing you immediately notice is the Tegmen has a handle that is much longer. It is also less refined. The click of the bail arm that Andrew shows repeatedly, to me feels less precise than the sharp 'click' of the Shimano (that I know Andrew hates!). The Tegmen feels less special when reeling in- it is just a tiny bit less than perfectly smooth. The Vanford is amazingly smooth. For the money, the Tegmen is great, hopefully it will last, which is less certain than with the Shimano. If for some reason you want a shorter handle, then the Vanford 1000 would have that advantage- but for me, I prefer the larger diameter spool and the longer handle.
