Once when I went trick or treating as a kid a grandpa screamed after me and my friends asking whether we love God while holding a pitchfork. It definitely isn't common and it is more of a new (last 10 years or so) concept, so don't mind the mean comments some entitled As left. Good video! I think my fav thing about the All Saint's Day in Poland is that it's one of few moments that unites everyone and is bound with a lot of sorrow yet beauty as well. One thing I would like to add is that most if not all cementaries is what is called a Grave of Unknown Soldier and it's a perfect place to leave a candle light if you don't have any relatives to visit for example. It can be indicated by for example a big cross on a cementary and there's a lot of candle lights under it too.

Very interesting to see someone new to all the traditions just experiencing them. Even if there are other channels, yours is special in the way it's not about Warszawa or Kraków but rather a smaller town. A propos the other comments - just ignore the self-proclaimed butthurt historians.

A lot of nonsense. Study better, girl. This is a general Christian holiday (differently celebrated in different countries) - but saints are worshiped everywhere (now, of course, mainly in Catholic countries), as well as the souls of our ancestors (this is a remnant of Indo-European beliefs - Poles or Irish, or Italians, or Greeks - they are Indo-European, and many of their traditions are common, and dating back to pagan times). Secondly, Halloween is obviously celebrated in Poland, so don't lie. It's just a fun taken over from Anglo-Saxon countries and of course it doesn't mean much during a Polish, Catholic holiday with visiting cemeteries, etc.
Finally, the Powązki and Rakowiecki cemeteries are not the oldest cemeteries in Poland.!!!!! What nonsense. They are old, several hundred years old, but they are not the oldest. The oldest cemeteries are located by the oldest churches. or, for example, noble cemeteries, by the oldest family chapels.

      thanks for clarifying :-)
\i do not remember mentionning it is only polish, and my main focus is about Poland, that is why I have not mentioned about other countries
Halloween is NOT celebrated in my town or neighbouring towns as I said it is not common to see someone with a costume outside of main cities like warsaw
Powazki is a historic one that I have recommended to people to visit, I do not see why you are defensive in your comment
but thanks for sharing your wisdome

Oh please there are places in Poland where people will scream how anti-catholic you are if you go trick or treating. Celebrating the dead is common in every culture this is just her relating the experience and information gathered about how it is celebrated in Poland. Maybe try being a little bit nicer and first do your own research before making comments about it ...
