- The Master has returned!
By popular demand, the legendary silver PA300 has come off the shelf for a do-over of the last demo.
And for those that are wondering...it WILL be going into service in an undisclosed location.
-FDNY 9/11/01. A sound heard on many an apparatus en-route to ground zero. FDNY still carries that siren on their spare trucks, and Engine 54 is no exception. Their front line Ferrara had the old PA-300 silverface.
ME TOO ME TOOO I JUST FELT IN LOVE IN THAT SIREN AND IT WAS 1ST TIME WHEN I HEARD AMERICAN SIRENS
Best version of the PA-300
Actually the FDNY version is the best even though those ones don’t have a hi lo tone
@@hagerstownredline5274 just posted one of mine :) enjoy!! I have 4 that I’ll be showcasing
Manual sounds like something straight out of an FDNY rig from the 90's
It does remind me of an FDNY model now that you mention it
@@ryanhealy3074 it is what they used i believe.
@@centralnewyorkresponses7887 I wonder if they used the older boards (like this one) in the newer black housings for the FDNY special-order units. They do sound identical when the pitch is adjusted.
@@ryanhealy3074 FDNY use a special ordered black version with the hilo disabled. It sounds exactly like this. I think they also used some silver faces before they started special ordering them.
Just posted one of mine, I’ll be showcasing 4 of the FDNY pa 300s
Huge fan of these. Manual siren and wail sounds so good on these.
I'm more of a yelp guy, pair that with an old school Q and it'll move traffic like a hot knife
@@ryanhealy3074 my city only has Q sirens on its fire trucks
@@rexjolles my city has Q’s and powercalls on there trucks
I have one of those too. The only reason why I got it is because I like the slow rising wail tone. The very early black faced PA300s have the same wail tone.
That’s a freaking awesome siren! I need that on my car!
Brings back some memories
Oh god that sounds beautiful
Do a video with both the pa300’s going at the same time
There is a plan in motion to allow for that. Problem is I was using the same harness from the black one (which is actually installed in this engine) to power the silver one. That and the truck only has one speaker.
Thanks!
The silver version is from the 80s and late 90s
Reminds me of a 90’s California Highway Patrol siren.
IIRC, CHP used to use the Siracom 2 system prior to going to the Vision platform. PA2100s (Siracom 2) used the same siren guts as this generation of PA300
EARGAAAASSSSSSMMMMMMMM
Best wail
You forgot to do the wail/yelp and yelp/Hi Low bridging
Could you keep it on hi lo longer?
They used that siren in earlier Stone Cold Steve Austin entrance themes
And that same stock sound but was used in the movie "Twister" As i'm sure it was with various other productions
Oh yeah, the 300 was/remains one of the de facto choices for Hollywood sound guys because it's such an iconic sound.
0:52 FDNY doesn’t have this
Yes they do
@@BlackieFoxxlessI mean they don’t have Hi-Lo siren
Correct, they FDNY-spec ones have the hi-lo disabled, in addition to red backlighting instead of green
It has two sirens
So at the time of filming this, only the black one was "in service." I've since swapped it out for another silver PA300 (I'm also not a member at that company anymore).
素晴らしい
that is a model that the fdny use
PA300
Yes and the black models but Hi-Lo is disabled
No the police uses this
PA300 ANTIGUE ?
Tengo una
What does the gain do?
Adjusts the PA/radio rebroadcast volume.
LAPD, please pull to the right and stop
Is this for sale?
Nope. This one in particular is currently installed in our reserve engine. If/when the rig goes down the road, it's coming back to the vault and something else will get swapped in.
Okay I'm not even going to lie that is a pretty good sounding siren on the manual and Horn but I just generally don't really like this siren I only like the horn and man
Yah system chahie
