- ...well at least most of them. :) I didn't commit suicide with the spear and I didn't jump out of all the windows, but I consider that a waste of time, I killed myself with the sword, the arrow and the hammer, I jumped out of one window and one balcony, thats enough of that! :) And you get killed with the spear by the bridge-troll so there is a death involving the spear. Well, enough gabbing abouth death, let's watch some instead! And if I've missed some deaths, please let me know, I will upload the aswell (except spear and window-jumps).

The old pot on the collapsing fortification trick? Takes me back to my high school days.
Forgotten: 1. Using the acid water from "flute fountain" outside of kennel on SELF.
2. Using torch on extinguished flames subsequent to using purple sphere on it.
3. Using torch on werewolf after plunging arrow into it.
I always liked the one where you could drink a potion and get weird alterations in your body... but they're harmless, and if you keep trying to drink then your character will eventually look at his blue-haired hands and decide it's time to stop. So you get to do something that'd normally kill you, but instead it just permanently changes you in a (seemingly) small way and lets you continue playing, no longer a 100% normal human. That's eerie.

You missed one. Trying to take the flute from the fountain without the gauntlet. it is acid and melts you.
There's also one for DRINKING the acid water (click water, USE on SELF). It melts your throat and larynx, among other things.
It just burns you on the NES version. It doesn't melt you without the gauntlet.
RockandMetal645 If I am remembering correctly (Might need to do it when I get home), you have to try a couple of times, and it does kill you.
It's also possible to die by the sphinx if you attack it.

Uninvited was 10x as scary when you died. The closeups did it. Also, it struck me as odd when sliming was an instant kill, guess I am just used to Nethack, but I didn't notice a lizard in your inventory anyway :]

This is not a joke. Fatal tripping over something and falling flat on your face because your torch went out incidents were the #1 cause of death among humans in 2016. Keeping lights on 24/7 and lining your walls and floors with cotton helps... but is it enough?! Stay vigilant.

My mom bought this for me when I was thirteen for fifty dollars when it first came out. Best gift ever that year. I couldn't believe she got it for me either. We were dirt fucking poor. I think you forgot the snake death also though I may not recall correctly or just missed it.

That picture of the Grim Reaper creeped me out as a kid. I thought some of the things in this game (like the slime and torch suicide) were amusing, but I never got far in the game.

I really wanted to do all the death scenes in Uninvited and Shadowgate, as well as Deja Vu. But I still wonder if it is worth doing....I love me some video game deaths. Still looking to do them for other games, but I need some names and the time to record them.
It's really a stupid thing to do when you're a brave knight out to save the world from eternal darkness...to trip over something in the dark and die beacuse your torch went out. Duuuuh!
You missed the acid fountain. That was my favorite as a kid. Its how I learned the word larynx.

I would like to point out that a portal to space left opened like that would end all life on the planet including up to the warlock lord. So if you failed and it rampaged you just smash the mirror as a back up plan.

I remembr trying to crawl through the space under the granite slab. This game had way too many trial and error paths. I went squish.
After i got the horn, i kept hold of my rod and treated my helmet very gently..
thats not all the deaths at all, nowhere near. you can drink from the fountain where the flute is, and its acid. you can answer the sphinx riddle wrong, you can get killed by the spectre thing in same room u find invisibility cloak. theres loads more

CREEPY GAME. I would've hated playing it as a kid. But the deaths are a bit amusing now ...
I believe you also die by taking a torch to the oil pits (the remnants of the one room after you throw the orb into the fire), your whole body becomes enflamed..
1 person got reminded of the torture it caused them :P
There's actually another death with the chained lady that transforms into a wolf even after you use the arrow...It's still possible for her to kill you.
It's been a while but I'll never forget actually solving that puzzle and still dying from it. :P
Pretty sure the only way she can kill you after stabbing her with the arrow is to use a torch on her corpse as it resurrects or heals her or something.
Don't "take" the book in the library if you mean to "read" it, because you die! Reading the review of this in Mean Machines was funny.
Me too, very bad idea that this game was released when I was 4.
The only death I think you're missing is in the firedrake room, if you put out the fires and hold the torch to the oil below. But anyways, my favorites are:
