Back when the DVDs of the PPVs were released, the WWE got permission to use (and technically make money off of) certain songs on the PPV which would be redistributed. A different agreement is made for TV as they TV typically isn't intended for re-release - the WWE would have to pay a shit ton for each song with each appearance in royalties. It's just not worth it. Those agreements carry forward since PPVs are being redistributed as per the original agreement. That's why WWE does so much stuff in-house so they can control for these sorts of things

Every few months or so I circle back to this great theme. Along with Bob Holly, one of the most beautiful dropkicks I had ever seen belonged to Maven.
