    I’m starting to get a vibration at 1k to 1500 rpm feels like it’s coming from the torque converter now I’m getting delayed reverse when cold I’m pretty sure my gap was bigger than 3/8 could this be causing my problems?

      Did you have to cut your firewall?
      What electronics?
      Any way to still run factory Guages?
      Would you have done anything differently?

    So you need a 5/32" spacer, between 1/8" and 3/16" which is between 4/32" and 6/32". Seems a bit strange those spacers were not already installed between the original torque converter and flex plate.

      Nothing is original about this “setup” it’s a 5.3 motor with a old school th400. This setup is very common in the off-road industry. OE original vehicles have feet welded on the converter. Since these are custom built you have to do this

    And also what kind of budget should I be setting aside for such a transmission like you have for your package in your type of truck cuz I don't know which one you have I don't know yet

      for a really basic trans rebuild like i have its $1500 and that's just seals and a manual valve body with a 4ll60 hub on the inside.

    Quick question what truck do you have letter 1500 or 2,500 cuz that's what I got I got a 2500 93 pickup truck extra cab 3/4 ton with a 460 transmission

    How does that help you and horsepower wise and torque cuz I'm really trying to get more torque I got a good power package but I'm losing a lot of so let me know how it helps and torque and power cuz I'm looking to convert ua4404 turbo 400

      Th400 will kill about 40hp on a 500rwhp vehicle

    IN 3RD GEAR at wide open throttle the RPM's surge up and down up to 500 rpms! Could this be from incorrect spacing? It don't do this in 1st and 2nd gear, kind of odd, i am not sure what to try and repair.... NEW built TH400

      Sounds more like trans slipping but hard to say over the internet. 3rd gear is usually the first one to let go if it does.

    So I don’t want the 3/16 drill bit to fit? And does my gear ratio in my truck’s differential and wheel snd rim size affect the life expectancy of my th400?

      1/8 should fit and 3/16 shouldn’t fit. I am running 5.14 rear gear with 37s with no problems. Some trophy trucks are running a th400 with 40” tires with no problems. Make sure your pull out and fluid level is good and your trans should be fine. A lot of th400 problems come from shifting from 1st into 2nd gear at really high RPM.

      If you actually watch the full video I will show/talk about how people install a torque converter incorrectly and it will balloon into the pump and blow up the trans. That or it will pull on the pump. Those ARE THE TWO WAYs you blow up a transmission. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on this videos.
