- (11 Jul 1976) Britain's major tourist sites, all on 3½ acres of land in Bournemouth, that's the model world of 'Tucktonia'. Described as 'the best of Britain in miniature', the displays are not just static, for example, the River Thames flows through at 15ft a minute.

Tucktonia was a Watney's project / then Grand Met.
It was a fantastic project to work on for 2 years.
I was surprised that It was turned into a housing estate when I went to find it 15 years ago.
Am I right in thinking that Riverland Court retirement homes are now on the site that was previously occupied by Tucktonia model village?
@@robjames1963 Grand Met obviously realised that they was more money in real estate than tourism. Great shame. All I have left of that part of my life is a photos. The models all went into a skip except the working train I guess
I loved that place as a kid. Short lived though wasn't it. £2million! Wow! I never knew.
The UK could have had something to rival Madurodam in Holland. It is beyond stupid that this attraction was destroyed.
2 Million! Wow
what happened to all the models they spent so much money on when it closed?
Many of the London models were used and destroyed in the making of a 1985 movie called Lifeforce...
Triple Pitched. 0:06.
waste of 2million wasn"t it? wonder who paid for it ?
