Looks fab with a t-shirt, brilliant idea for a slightly cooler day! Looks great on you. I loved this fabric too, it was a dream to work with. 🐾
I think you look great in it, Hayley. Good tip for the zip with the tape! I think the basting of the seam is really good, I have done that for a while. The fabric is just fabulous, love it!
Hayleigh, you have to make another Fleetwood Frock. I know you shy away from a fitted woven bodice, but this is so lovey and flattering on you. Truly. I had my doubts about this fabric print, but I ended up loving it with this pattern and you could make some adorable little t-shirt type shirts with different sleeves to go with it.
Thank you so much, I do really like it and love the idea of making different T-shirts to go underneath.
I have problems with fitting around my bust too. I think you have done well with the top. I plan on doing a toilet for fit too. Just a thought. You could use the skirt pieces and make a lovely skirt instead
Thank you Jeanette, that’s a great idea, it wouldn’t take much to just make a waistband and add a zip in the side
I’ve been curious about this pattern, because I’ve actually got the dragon fabric that’s on the pattern packet. My main concern would be bra coverage, but it looks so cute with a t-shirt anyway. I love the pockets.
I love watching you because I always end up saying yes that happens to me! Why when I carefully measure myself and match to the size does it always end up too big! I do check finished measurements and adjust accordingly but I often have that baggy bit near the armhole or in the neck area! This dress looks great on you and I do like Sew Different as a pattern company, so I might give it a go. Thanks again for the video x
Even though our bust, waist and hip measurements can match those on the packet we still are all shaped differently. I apparently have a “shallow chest” so often need to take a wedge out of the neckline and transfer it into a bust dart. I would probably actually do the same with this dress from the armhole into the waist dart rather than going down a size as it fits well everywhere else. I’m so pleased you relate though, happy to share tips when I can.
@@SewHayleyJane thank you, that is really helpful and probably would solve a problem I often find with a gaping neckline. I guess the actual boobage is descending with age!!🤪🤣
Darts under the arm? I took the zip out as it was super bulky and looked odd with the lawn, so I added a couple of poppers in the house pink and it ended up looking perfect.
I have a problem fitting around my upper body , I've spent hours stitching, unpicking re stitching, I sometimes don't finish my garment.😪
Would micro pore tape (from the first aid section) have held your zip in place more securely before sewing?
It's adorable dress. I think your straps are too short or you need to cut it lower under the arms if you want to wear with a tshirt. I think next time make smaller size and do a Full Bust Adjustment. Maybe try this on some material that you got cheap or an old bedsheet....It looks cute on you and I adore that material.
Looks great on you. ❤
Thank you so much
