Visu fine tuned his directorial skills under his mentor the legendary K Balachander until becoming a full-fledged director. He ventured into acting under his own direction in the Tamil Film, Kudumbam Oru Kadambam meaning family is a mixture of sorts, which was a talk of that period for its crisp storyline, sensitive story, sensational dialogues and well timed jokes. He further went on to direct films like Samsaram Adhu Minsaaram based on a true story, which was remade in almost in all Indian languages. He also directed many other films,Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi, Manal Kayiru etc.
The programme "Visuvin Makkal Arangam" telecast by Jaya TV was essentially meant as a platform to serve a social cause. Arattai Arangam was a similar program that he hosted on Sun TV. Visu pioneered the use of the visual media to reach the common man.

What a personality! I was in tears without my knowledge when hearing the last segment about his battle with health issues, truly a legend on his own right .. just brought my dad in my mind in the last segment who was also struggling with CKD/dialysis issue.. my dad just struggled with the disease but this man is fighting - i know how much it takes -- its not a simple fight or one time effort, constant battling is required.. hats off to you sir.. please take care ..
Great writter, dealt with lots of family issues and gave solutions too. His dialogues for Rajini is still trending 🙏
i always felt that how Rahul dravid belong to the era of sachin tendulkar and remain underrated the same way since Visu sir belong the same period of K,balachander he was underrated.
how many great films visu sir gave he never got his due appreciation.

Excellent interview. Visu is so upright in everything and he is right in saying that he didn't have to compromise. If his movies were directed by Manirathnam or someone like that, the movie wouldn't have got the same effect. The subject of those movies were not about the visuals. It was the dialogues which was making the people engaged. It was a different way of story telling, which were apt for the subjects he was trying to convey. Visu was one of my favorite directors during those times. I wish he directed "Annamalai". There was nothing wrong with Suresh Krishna. But, Visu would have given us a completely different Rajini movie.
Boss key , this person is a genius, am so influenced, in fact I liked him only for those long lengthy dialogues, he is ultimate, all those intelligence in old movies, are only cause of this person, but bosskey u pushed him inside a shell, you should have been more respectful, u could have got more info, those long dialogues have great meaning, each word, when he says veete vittu veliya poda Naye at raguvaran, wah!today's producers must reach out to him, v must bring this trend back...tks for showing him,

I can only say BRILLIIAANTTTT , again Bosskey scores 100% as an interviewer. Best interviewer awardey koduklaam. How can he be so casual and fearless in shooting the questions ?? - Visu sir ... first time am hearing someone speaking from the heart abt Rajnikanth and that shows the kind of person Rajini is. Not getting the silence he maintained abt the other iconic star Kamal Hassan though. And Visu sir, hats off .. as said in the interview by Bosskey, you are a true inspiration to the whole world. And, can see how your scripts were brilliant here. The way you narrate an incident . that itself will pull in directors and actors and producers toward you. Bosskey Sir - yet again Sooopperrb job .. Thank you Bosskey (we met many years ago, twice on the same day in Chennai) for a most illuminating interview with a great humanitarian. Visu is one of those rare gems tossed up by the film world. While his artistry is unique and memorable, his love and concern for those less fortunate makes him a role model. I hope to visit him on my next trip to India.

No other person, other than Mr. Bosskey, would have kept the interview so engaging. About Mr. Visu, he is such a great personality, who dedicated his talent to help people through visual media. There were lot of stories within stories, which came about in this interview, that were so inspiring, like the one where Art director provided his alternate views about climax of the movie and Mr. Visu decided to re-shoot.
I have watched this several times and in future too, I will watch it to connect to Mr. Visu's positivity in life...
