The only rivals are Morissette's own perfromances of Akin Ka Na Lang, Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw, Never Enough, the acapella version of Rise Up with 3rd Avenue, Listen, And I Am Telling You, Stone Cold, Power, Love You Still (Sunset Version), and a few more!! It actually is a fact that Morissette is clearly the best female vocalist, definately of our times, maybe beyond. Aside from her outstanding technical abilities, her rich and warm tone and her amazing ability to convey emotions make her so unique. I listen to her every day, and she never fails to amaze me and to move me anytime I do.

#morissette is a top-shelf vocalist. Not a sing[le sound in that song was unintended. Her acapella performances of stage musical numbers a required listening. Defy gravity is a good start.

I don’t know if Mori is the best singer of this generation (she’s only in her mid-twenties). What I do know is that I can’t think of any other singer who can sing pop songs as well as classic Disney songs when requested, use the whistle tone as well as country mannerisms when she wants and again, the thing I love most about her, more than her high notes, she has in the background the rough and thick voice of a blues singer.
From the accent you seem to live in the UK. I don’t know if you like football, but what would you think of a football player who is simultaneously a goalkeeper like Buffon, a midfielder like Iniesta and a striker like Messi? 😄

This specific performance was beyond PERFECTION knowing the fact that she was sick during that day. Just WOW!
Regarding her "side-mouth" singing, I recall one reactor/coach a couple of years back opining that she did that in this particular performance as she was reportedly under the weather and may have had to adapt to allow for easier breathing. That remark made sense to me as I have never since seen her do this again (granted I likely haven't watched her entire library).
Ahh that could explain it … it will be interesting to see if he does it again but that said every singer does something slightly different physically every now and then when they sing … I doubt it’s a conscious decision- she’s just singing (her face off) after all ✌️🤣🙏

She was actually sick during this performance. Maybe that’s why because she sung it again at the love gala and that didn’t happen.
I think her whistle is amazing, it’s just so full and thick and not as thin. Even Mariah Carey’s whistles were a bit thin.

The Queen ASIA'S PHOENIX mori, is the beast, slayer in this generation today all over the globe, she's do everything about music❤️🇵🇭
My take: I believe Morissette used those side mouth positions ONLY when singing quieter tones close to the mic - thereby adding flavoring to those tones. Mori has great mic awareness - like stretching her head back or moving her head to the side, so her power does not OVERPOWER the mic. She's a vocal poducer's dream! Enjoyed your reaction!

She actually had a cold this day. This seems so long ago. But welcome to the world Asia's Phoenix, Morisette. You won't regret going down this rabbit hole. There's a treasure trove of videos of Morisette doing anything and everything. She truly is one of the best vocalist today. What sets her apart is how she can draw emotions out of a song. She's 99.9% technically flawless but it's how she interprets the emotions of a song. Morisette can truly do it all. The rest of the world is sleeping on Morisette but you sir, have been blessed. 😊 She re-did a 2020 a Capella version which is just so so so *chef's kiss* Enjoy enjoy enjoy. If I can recommend to do all her older stuff ans then dive into her LP and then newer stuff. Take care and cheers

Dear if I may recommend, Never Enough 52 million visual- David Foster wanted her as a guest of honor at his Manila concert for 6 nights;" Rise up" Backstory, this performance was removed for copyright because it had 4 times more views than the original; Secret Love Song 211 million; Akin ka na Lang its original in Tagalog with 166 million views, you will be shocked for at least 30 minutes. 🤭
