    Great Review! I bought the game for like 8€ and it's definetly fun. It's not a Masterpiece but it ain't bad.

    It's honestly their own fault this happened. If they hadn't named it King's Bounty, people wouldn't have had their expectations shattered, and would probably have judged it for what it is, rather than what they think it's not. After making so many King's Bounty games with the exact same formula, you build up expectations, and it'd be pretty unreasonable to NOT expect more of the same after 5 games of the same.

      After Warriors of the North, which was the best, they should have given us all new lands and units instead of reusing old ones. But keep the same gameplay that is better than HoMM. Instead they made the useless rehash Dark side game, and then the bad KB 2 game. Another company turned to trash.

      @@Charok1 Most KB fans would say Armored Princess is the best game of the earlier series.

    This game is so underrated. I always heard it wasn't that good, but I'm addicted. It's linear but I still enjoy the exploration and world building. The combat is fun.

      the same for me, but when I red that it was jenky I knew it was for me, I allways enjoyed janky games like the gothic series, and turn based games like heroes. I've been playing it now for 3 days and I'm in love with it, totally worth it if it makes you enjoy.

    Good review, subscribed. I have a tendency to get motion sickness in some games, but I understand you can just ignore the horse. Not a great fan of mounts in games like this anyway.

    Just a heads up, the game you played was not kings bounty 1. Kb1 arrived in 1990 developed by New world computing and ported to sega genisis in 1991.

    • @roqsteady5290
      @roqsteady5290 Před rokem

      Strictly speaking that may be true, but KB 2 is no doubt intended as a sequel to the earlier KB games released on PC.

      @@roqsteady5290 Interestingly its gameplay might be closer to the Sega genesis release.

      @roqsteady5290 where are you getting that from? I think it's ignoring the legend series and is a sequel referring to the original amiga game.😮

    I avoided this game for the first couple of years because of its DRM. I bought it once I learned the DRM was removed and I was pleasantly surprised about how good a game it was. I played it a lot--all hero types, on Normal and some on Hard (wasn't able to complete a game on Hard) and later I bought it for Xbox too and played many times all over again.

    Never played the originals, but this game feels weird. Like a bat mashup between RTS Army game and like you said fable. I see what they were trying to do, but it simply does not feel like it’s implemented correctly. For example, your hero is walking down the street a guy jumps from the shadow with a knife and says I’m going to mug you. Now you’re battling an army of thugs with your army of knights.

    Is this game easy to learn on the easy difficulty? The grid based combat worries me but everything around that interests me. Im just not sure about the combat.. how easy is it to level up in the game? Also, is the game still getting updated?

    • @ForgottenGames
      @ForgottenGames  Před rokem

      Easy to learn. The challenges help getting the most out of a few units. They gave the game an open ending. So I hope the next game fixes what was missing and goes back to the roots a bit.

    Never touched Kings Bounty 1 or 2 but I do know Gingertail made some great music from Kings Bounty 2.

    (edit: just got to the end of the review and my question has sadly been answered) Does the game end in a cliff-hanger or have a satisfying conclusion? I'm hesitant to buy a game that doesn't conclude.... especially if a follow-up / sequel that concludes the story isn't guaranteed.

    • @ForgottenGames
      @ForgottenGames  Před rokem +1

      It was a great experience regardless with about 50-60 hours of content.
      If only they gave it a different title, the game ratings would've been better, people were really hoping for Kings Bounty II in the style of its predecessor.

    • @ForgottenGames
      @ForgottenGames  Před 4 měsíci

      Cute tantrum, but I started the video by setting up a comparison for game mechanics, to introduce the genre, not to judge either one of the games, the 4:34 part was aimed to reviewers who judge a game based on what would be better or worse in their opinion compared about other games.
