  • I play the violin for 6 years now, and about 3 months ago I started practicing the first movement of Summer by Vivaldi. I really like this piece, so I decided to make a practice video about it. ^_^
    In this video, I play it slowly first, then I practice some hard bits and I finish by playing the whole piece a bit faster and I'm even attempting it at high speed, just for fun!

      It feels like when you play quarters they sound like half notes. Once my teacher told me I need to master scales and clear sound and after that move on harder pieces (((

    This is exactly I was trying to do as a self beginner. Your demo was excellent in slow motion with the moving Red pointer. I was keen to find out the bow movement as well. As you mentioned it is easy to follow the rhythm. Thanks for all the dedicated demonstration .

    This is great. Thank you for showing your training with this piece as you are learning it as it is reassuring to know to me that it’s normal to make the same mistakes and to go through these methods and it not be perfect and that the process needs to be gradual. Your progress videos are inspiring, thank you x

    Thanks for being authentic and sharing your progress as it really encourages me to practice. I’ve been playing for approximately 5 years and I’m learning on my own which is a real struggle.

      No, not yet. But I do like to arrange stuff every now and then, or write harmonies on existing material.

  • @dvides89
    @dvides89 Před rokem

    If this might be useful in any way I would advice you to work on the bowings without the fingers ( especially on the slurs). Even on slow practice you can notice you drag or sometimes neglect the bow altogether mainly because you’re very focused on the left hand. Otherwise even if you’re correcting the intonation on the left hand your bow and sound quality will deteriorate enforcing the wrong pattern and therefore make the whole passage less secure the more you practice it.

  • @pix8342
    @pix8342 Před rokem +5

    Have you been practicing less because it sounds like you're really struggling more with the intonation again. No shade, just genuinely curious. Nice practice video

    • @MarijkeViolin
      @MarijkeViolin  Před rokem +11

      Practice goes with ups and downs, lately I've been practicing more. Intonation is always a work in progress. Not getting a note right in one go and working towards getting it right is a big part of violin playing in general and what every player deals with. That's why I don't mind showing these parts too.

      @@MarijkeViolin yeah girl! Thanks for sharing truth!

    • @ameliev.5459
      @ameliev.5459 Před rokem

      Intonation is much harder in higher parts, especially if the mustle memory isn't there yet. You can actually see her working on Intonation right away - she repeats "failed" notes directly, so the wrong intonation is corrected immediately. Actually a great job!

  • @christophertsiliacos8958

    I like your video, but let's not forget the nerdy gurdy. 😉
