Stephen Stanton is an incredible talent - not only is this a remarkable audiobook with the highest production values (offered for free), but also unparallel in its uniquely distinct execution of its memorable cast of characters. Each one - from Jim to Long John; are so fitting in their aspect that belief in each of them not being living breathing pirate brethren is completely suspended. It is astonishing to think on the fact this work was created by a lone individual. I honestly can not think of another audio book which can hold claim to the positive attributes of this truly admirable work and ostensible labour of love. Thank you. Stephen - many children have found something special here, to be sure.

Wow. I remember saving this playlist for 7th grade reading. Now im going into 9th and it brings back so many memories of laying in my tent, with my old Ipod 4, and listening to this masterpeice
I had the CD audiobook when I was little, and I played this until the CDs fell apart. I had forgotten what it was called until I stumbled across this! I recognized it from the first line, wow, the nostalgia! I love the classics, and your voice is really engaging :)
A favorite of mine. Had just reread it a couple of weeks ago. Your reading really brings the characters to life. This is better then a movie version. I know what I'm doing right after work for the next month.

Enjoying this so much! There are several versions on CZcams, but as soon as I hit upon this one I knew it was the ONE! Don't know the story (probably the one person on Earth who still doesn't 😕), but the pirate voices are perfectly gravelly for the characters. Thank you! 👏🏾😇

(Actually, there was one other, but it was abridged. What use is an abridged version OF ANYTHING! It's bad enough when they hack books about for films!)

So, I have to read this book along with Thomas C. Foster's "How To Read Literature Like A Professional" for my AP English III class summer assignment for my junior year in high school this year.. I keep reading comments that they have to read these books for AP Lit. Is English III AP the same a AP Lit? I don't really know but hopefully listening to the audio and taking notes might help me grasp it until I can purchase my book for class.

i would love to learn how to read out loud like this, how did you plan to read this? did you just read it in the first take? or are these multiple takes? the language is difficult and antiquated as you mentioned below.
Hi Kironyo! As a voice actor, I rehearse the dialogue just like anything else I'm going to record: tv, films, etc. Yes, the language & grammar is anitquated, so it takes a bit of prep time! :)
Very well done! The key with these kinds of projects is to become familiar with the words so that you are telling the story, not just reading it. Reading aloud to yourself is good practice for this. I'm looking forward to your next one! :)

Joey it's roughly 250 pages but can be more or less based on the layout & typeface of the edition. The most well-known illustrated version has artwork by classic American painter/artist N.C. Wyeth! :)
