I believe that the M1 air and pro are more then good for most people. I use davincci resolve and it handles and I use the air. It doesn't even gets how. For some people that edit 6k and above they do need this new machine
Joshua, I liked your video and thought you gave some sound business advice. I have been in post since 1977. Dealt with quad, 1inch betacam, D2, you name it all the way to digital. You made the comment that if someone charges by hour as faster machine might not be that important to them especially when if it takes longer to export the project. ( I am paraphrasing) As business advice, I see a hole in that view. Clients will soon figure out that they can get the project done faster and less expensively somewhere else and may feel the provider is being disingenuous with his pricing. Getting the job done as quickly and as efficiently is the goal. The cost to acquire a client is expensive these days. When a company like Apple puts out products like these the cost to ante into the game just went up. Again, I liked your video and like your purchasing strategy. I wish you much success going forward.
Glad you brought up the fact you pay for your equipment without a credit line. I’m the same way. I can’t imagine the debt some people put themselves in because of new gear. Lol
Do you recommend 14 inch M1 Pro 16c , 32GB RAM and 1TB for video editing using premiere pro and after effects? Also maybe use fcp and davanci resolve too.
