of course we all have a fender in our minds, and of course we all prefer the fender and most of all when we are begining and the fender/gibson brands are so printed in our minds because of the best publicity thah exist: all the rockstars we admire and love that plays that guitars, but, if we open our minds, and most of all, wen we already have that guitars, (i already have fender guitars thats why i can understand). when we get that point, we can pass to another stage, and see quality no matter the brand. these guitars are very good quality for the price, ash body, maple neck, wilkinson bridge with thick block, wilkinson pickups, that in fact are alnico pickups!, for the price these guitars are a dream, very superior than squiers and that kind of brands, better than epiphone, man you are right with this review, congratulations
I couldn't have said it any better myself. I think that is an excellent synopsis of the mindset in general of a lot of guitar players. I'm glad I don't subscribe to that old way of thinking. We live in the best age for guitar players ever!
Gotta say, that sounds great. Those Wilkinson Alnicos sound better than I would have imagined. Guessing with some proper shielding in the cavity, the noise floor would lower quite a bit. I've got the Ash Indio DLX Tele (clear finish) coming tomorrow. I know nothing about the pups in that.
Congratulations 🎊 NGD, well if the Tele sounds as good as the Alnico pickups on the strat version, you're in for a pleasant surprise . These many months later, I still think this DST strat is one of the most authentic sounding strats I own.
It's a shame that Monoprice did away with that 2 point bridge and now only makes the DLX Plus with the Wilkinson old style 6 screw bridge now. I bought one from them 3 weeks ago and complained about it having the 6 screw tremolo instead of the 2 point bridge that is still shown on their ad and the ad on Amazon. Monoprice just replied that they make changes all the time and the pics and specs don't necessarily reflect those changes and I could just return the guitar within the 30 day period. Not a great way to do business in my opinion. If they make a change, they should change the pics and specs in the ad. Like everyone else does
Great point 👉 Did yours have a big or small block in the Tremolo system? Does your's appear to be a good quality bridge or just the standard lightweight cheapo one's? To be honest with you I've battled with the Wilkinson and had to purchase a 3rd spring for mine because it just wouldn't setup right (float) with 2 springs.
Seems very similar to the Harley Benton stuff but, those don’t come with a good setup from my experience. At least at the low end now days the quality potentially there, you just have to extract some of the missing mojo.

Outstanding.

No doubt I got a bit lucky but from the group on fb feedback the DLX PLUS STRAT series is pretty consistent in good set ups
