I've always thought Obi-Wan said he didn't remember owning a droid because even though R4 was technically his droid, it probably was just assigned to him at random by the republic and if it got replaced it probably wouldn't have been a big deal for him, which is not the case with something like Anakin and R2, where he actually considered his droid a friend, therefore him saying that he doesn't remember actually owning any droid for himself

    • @mynameisNeo369
      @mynameisNeo369 Před 25 dny +27

This is spot on. He wasn't lying there, he never owned R2 or any droid. Even though it wasn't planned out at the time, Alec Guinness acted the older Obi Wan perfectly. Everything he went thru in the prequels as a character is written on his face throughout episode 4.

The biggest plothole in the series is the Jedi uniform in the prequels. In the OT, Obi-Wan disguised himself as a desert hobo so nobody would suspect he's a Jedi. Then the Prequels roll around and we find out Obi-Wan's desert hobo getup was actually the official Jedi uniform all along, which makes it arguably the worst 'disguise' of all time.

He definitely shouldve been able to react fast enough especially knowing the speeds these guys keep up with but padawan kenobi outmaneuvered him solely cause maul never expected this lil kid to flip behind him while simultaneously force pulling and igniting a lightsaber. That scene always baffled me as a kid especially watching it in real time and how skilled maul was but then you gotta take in account how influenced by the dark side maul was so when hes indulging in the suffering it couldve given him tunnel vision. Good video! I'm just gonna try to explain these for fun but I don't really know I'm just guessing.
20: Maybe Palpatine wanted Zam to kill Padme on coruscant, the heart of the republic, to get more people to support the war
19: Snoke says killing Han Solo made Kylo unbalanced so maybe he wasn't able to call upon the darkside like how Rey called upon the light. (He also had taken damage from Chewbacca and Finn)
    17: idk about this
16: Luke, Han, Leia, would all be worth tons to the Empire, yet he keeps Han and Leia as trophies of sorts, I guess that's just how Jabba is
15: Luke is growing up during this time so he wouldn't show age but it makes sense the others would get ran down after years under two suns with no skincare routines.
14: A good question for another time
13: I haven't seen the movie in awhile but I would guess they were trying to get more power in the senate
12: Maybe he felt as if he had already killed Anakin in a way and couldn't do it again
11: I think what's even weirder than the jedi not questioning it is that NO ONE in the republic questions this but idk maybe the fear from the war just consumed everyone's thoughts
10: Maybe he didn't own R4 but was assigned her instead?
9: Yeah this is a stretch to say it's possible but it's not a flat out mistake you could say the pilot's computing systems were just that good. A year passed since TLJ, maybe the first order enslaved a lot of super smart people to improve on this already existing tech.
8: I think the way the deathstar exploded is supposed to be sorta retconned into what's seen in TROS. I heard once that Disney was going to re-edit ROTJ to change the deathstar explosion but that never happened, I guess it would make the fans mad. As for the dagger, C3po explains you have to stand on that cliff and hold out the dagger and you will find the throneroom. Its just like a weird map but the part that doesn't make sense is someone would have to go to the wreckage to make the dagger point in the right direction but my theory is the dagger was created by someone, such as palpatine, who could use sith magic to see how the dagger should be made to point it to the wreckage.
    7: I can't explain this
6: Different Jedi and Sith have different abilities. Why couldn't Obi wan force heal Qui gon? He's probably just not a Jedi who's able to master that ability. Reva used her anger to hang on to life the same as Darth Maul but what I don't understand is why Reva is used as an example when Maul gets cut in half and somehow clings onto life?
5: Anakin remembers C3po most prominently when he was not golden but also he's disassembled and behind Chewbacca. There has to be more protocal droids with c3po's voice because like why would the company just make one with that voice? And I know Anakin mostly created C3po but he had to get the voicebox somewhere. Anyways even if he did recognize c3po, Darth wouldn't just be like "Oh by the way what's up 3po" lol
4: TROS is my favorite movie but I do hate this scene it just doesn't make sense
3: I like to think Padme is somehow connecting to her daughter through the force which is why Leia can see an image of her in her head. (I know she isn't "force sensitive" but everyone is force sensitive to some degree. Maybe it's Leia who is subconsciously connecting with her mother.
2: This seems to me like a mistake but the filmmakers were probably thinking about the casual audience who are more invested in Rey than Chewie if they never saw the originals.
1: Yeah this is weird but maybe Obi wan thinks that Tatooine is someplace Vader would never return because of its connection to Anakin. Maybe he knows Vader is actually scared of anything that reminds him of his past because he's afraid it will make his conflicted soul worse.

Plot holes or not. It is amazing what extent us Star Wars fans are willing to go to in order to find a way to make sense out of the plot holes so they are no longer plot holes.
Like whatever Reva is concerned, my headcanon is that she was never actually stabbed during operation knightfall. When Vader approaches her as an adult, she gets PTSD as if she confronted Vader during the Jedi Temple march. And how Reva is able to survive being stabbed by Vader when she is an adult... That one is VERY easy. Dark side force users can survive the most insane BS. The more powerful they are with the dark side, the more BS they can survive.
Reva: Survives a stab to the stomach.
    Grand Inquistor: Same deal.
    Darth Maul: Cut in half.
Darth Vader: Looses 3 additional limbs and gets third degree burns all over his body that would have killed literally anyone else.
The power scaling even works for whoever of these people received the most damage.
As Maul is stronger than the Inquisitors and Vader is way more powerful than Maul, hell Maul even admits that as a fact during Rebels.

    14. I think a comic explains that, but that was just one of many things that the movies brought up and never carried through on. Like how Finn had a secret about his force sensitivity throughout the entire movie BUT NEVER GOT TO TELL THEM ABOUT IT.
    13. Money. Invading a planet is very lucrative if you do it right. And Sidious engineered it so that it would make him Chancellor.
    12. Why would he kill the man he has loved like a brother? Even if he knows he is fully lost, he still remembers what Padme told him, that there is still good in him.

    10. Obi-Wan was assigned R4-P17 by the Jedi, and did not have the same connection to her as Anakin did with R2. Meanwhile, I think he does remember R2. He spent his entire time with Luke trying to keep Anakin’s past a secret. He didn’t want to muddy the waters.

And the reason it hasn't eroded after 35 years is because the parts that are above the surface would take much longer to erode than the part beneath and it takes a long time for metal to break down in water, the Titanic is still under the ocean and it's been over 100 years.

My ideas on Leia remembering her mother: that she might have been talking about her adoptive mother while she only remembers and knew of her birth mother in images only. Remember, some people are very factual in the way that they speak and since Luke didn't mention her birth mother versus her mother... Leia was probably a little bit overwhelmed with Luke bringing this up at this point in their lives, with the operation being of greatest importance. Anything personal at that time probably threw her off. I feel as though sometimes people focus way too much on the little things in the original Star Wars Trilogy, when possibly more experience is required when talking with family members and other people about such things, they might discover how different people talk or remember events and their past.
