This addendum was a pleasant surprise. It's funny, the art that the game does have is really quite good! And the inserts are great! It's appalling how little effort is put into the inserts for some of the newer games I've otherwise really enjoyed by large game studios like Fantasy Flight, etc. I once thought it was nitpicky to complain about inserts (or lack thereof) but the way a game's components are organized and stored in its box can mean the difference between getting a game to the table and avoiding opening it and dealing with the chaos it contains. Mad props to the designer of Hexplore It for going the extra mile. I was still on the fence about trying this game after your previous post about it, but this addendum convinces me to give the game a shot. Story book! Tuck boxes! Serious, why can't FFG do that. That new desert themed edition of Hexplore It looks fantastic. But I don't think it's out yet. Not totally sure which edition I should snag. I'll Hexplore my options...

Blue Botic haha! Really wanted to make sure I mentioned these last few positive qualities. I’d definitely dive in at this volume. The pledge manager is still open for the new one. Seems like a good deal still. I jumped on that.

@@TheDungeonDive Cool thanks. This volume looks reasonably priced at the moment. I'm gonna do it!

What set would you recommend starting with? Also is it fiddly?

Chuck Barchuk I would start with this volume. It’s a little fiddly, but in a different way. Really low on tokens and component upkeep. But lots of stat updates and some simple math.

@@TheDungeonDive When you say this volume you mean Forests of Adrimon right not Valley of the Dead King? Just curious what are the differences between the two?

Chuck Barchuk some of the rules seem more refined. The main difference is what triggers the end game and I like this one more, at least on paper. I haven’t actually played the older one. Just going off what others have said.

It's disappointing that they feel the need to put a buxom character on the cover of the box. Really?? To this player, that is a VERY frustrating decision and presentation.

      At least she’s fully clothed?

The Dungeon Dive I like you, so that made me smile. But you do take my point I’m sure. :)

@@GeekGamers01 Yes, I do. :) I like that you make me think about those kinds of things more often than I do and should. It is a very generic convention, and the game is better than that.
