Completely agree with you. Learning it took a few awkward weeks/months to get into my hand. Integrating it naturally into music is something I'm still struggling with.

Honestly just listen to AAL and see what they do with it. Best as a rhythmic guitar part under the song (Earth Departure, Ectogenesis, Physical Education), to add flair to a lead part (Ectogenesis, Woven Web), or even just to create the whole riff (think Red Miso or Conflict Cartography). Study the greats and see how they do it!

Great video! I found the Thump course helpful, specifically because it also emphasized having your thumbnail grown more and mine were always so short!

It would be very nice to also have a sort of tutorial of mixing thumping and finding the tone. For instance, I learned thumping quite well and it sounds nice without being plugged in, but plugged into neural dsp it sounds quite bad. I know that part of the sound comes from your Larada active pickups, but maybe you could give us some tips on making this amazing sound and recording it.

By no means am i good at guitar, but thumping I’m moderately decent at and i think Tosin’s old thump course actually was helpful for it, that and the Backpfifengesicht one got me familiar with faster thumping patterns (even if i can’t perfectly play it yet lol)
