    Sabah is a symbol of happiness, life, optimism and humility. Beautiful of Lebanon "Helwat Lobnan" The "Chahroura" the Valley. She made a big name in Egypt and started from the villages of Lebanon, developed and diversified with the singing colors. The queen of the Lebanese Mawwal, and she sang in the Egyptian dialect. She is the queen of theater and cinema. I love Sabah ❤

      @@M.Salemx may be like 50/50 between Egyptian and Lebanese dialogues. It's true that in her early movies, which happened to be in Egypt, the songs in those movies are naturally in the Egyptian dialogue; however, later she concentrated on her Lebanese dialogue songs because she very much wanted the Lebanese culture to spread out all over the world, especially in the Arab world.

    this few minutes song took sabah 8-9 hours to record it. becuase the composer abdel wahab kept asking her to repeat each sentence to get the best out of her ...
    fun fact about her... during her 60s-70s she hated singing playback for TV shows: moving lips to sync with the studio reorded song. instead she used to sing loud & normal as in real concert ..everyone in the studio from the camermen and all the staff enjoyed it .. in few songs you can clearly hear their voices praising her

    In the song, a girl came from the village to the city to sell figs, but she lost her heart in the city, i.e. Beirut... She says to her heart: Take me back to the village, for I came to the city to sell figs, but I lost my heart in the city and I am afraid of the men of the village gloating over me. Thus, she talks about the simple girl who moves from the village to the city and falls in love and its maze. This song acts a real story for the legend Sabah.

    In min 14:
    That was my impression when I watched ur videos about her, I just realized that she, not like a lot of singers, reflects only the rythms with her voice, face& eyes,....
    I usually hear this song in the radio and thinks it was part of a movie, and fiction an imaginary seen of her dressed as a young innocent village girl holding her raspberry to sell in the Capital City Beirut where she meets a city guy (probably a movie star) then found out that he deceived about a dozen women and ask her mother they go back to their village before she becomes more attached to him and before guys in the village know and start mocking her for refusing them and looking forward for a city guy(as she says in the song lyrics)
    & I wonder why I never saw this movie and who was the star she married at the end? the city guy or the village guy.
    Now I realized it was just a song from no movie, you couldn't possibly distinguish the sad /emotional part in the lyrics without translation because she reacts mostly to the music and do what we call تطريب TATREEB like opera singers in a way but more joyful.
    .
    It was a weirdest thing (almost scary to me somehow) during her funeral in Lebanon when people played her cheerful songs and danced while carrying her coffin to the grave

    • @touringthecitywalking9209
      @touringthecitywalking9209 Před 2 lety +1

      You are right about the strange actions those who attended in her funeral were doing, and that's because she herself told her friends and family members to do, as she didn't want her funeral to be a kind of gloomy and upset, rather wanted people to sing her songs and dance 💃 as how she was doing all her life when she was alive. 😆
