    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      You don’t NEED to do anything. But you run the risk of screwing up your engine and destroying integral parts down the road. On top of that, you will never see the true gains of the tune.
      So yeah…you don’t NEED to…but be prepared for the headaches down the road.
      Just like you don’t NEED to do an oil change on time and can drive a few more thousand miles and the car might drive fine but be prepared for major issues down the road.

Still there's trolls that don't understand that and think I waste money on modding a "slow car" and I should just buy an S4 or something fully loaded but that doesn't help me or my viewers. Anyone can buy a powerful car but as a youtuber who creates content...me buying a fully loaded powerful car and not doing any mods doesn't do anything to help the community. So instead of making 50+ mod videos...I make one "hey, look at my fully load powerful S4. Thanks for watching. See you in 5 years when I buy another car that doesn't help you out". hahahahaha

    I'm at the same stage as you - but un tuned. She sounds lovely. I've no spacer on my rear o2 sensor so i keep getting check engines but i can easily turn it off with the mx+.. My only issue is my car is right hand drive. The cat pipe is in the way for the steering rack. i had to press the pipe a little to get it passed. I still get a little vibration through the steering, it maybe isn't just pressed enough. See how you have it tuned. Look into the high pressure fuel pump piston 034 motorsport. Do you have drive select activated? I turned mine on, saved a fortune from audi. I used vcds. Your car is the same as mine, you should have no issues. When you have dynamic it changes everything. It's not just sport mode. I definitly can't wait to get mine mapped. It sounds fun :)

      You gotta take it to a shop to have them scan and read certain metrics. Cause there will be something that will show the ecu has been flashed.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      BOV purges excess boost and makes the loud wooosh.
      DV+ diverts the excess boost back into the system to help maintain boost between shifts so the turbo doesn't have to start from scratch in spooling up to build up boost again. Motor should be more responsive between shifts.
      I dont know how much of a big difference it is between both but I'll trust the nature of a DV+ functionality on paper to keep it on my car.

      Not all down pipes have no cat. People keep throwing the term “downpipe” around the wrong way. Downpipe is an exhaust component. It can be catted or catless. Your stock car has a downpipe but it’s a catted downpipe.

      Yes. I did. I mentioned that in my intercooler video. I went with a DV+ diverter valve instead of a blow off valve. I wanted to recirculate unused boost instead of just venting it all out. Just better performance especially with a tune (IMO) and you can feel the difference when going WOT between the gears.

Hurts my head sometimes and my wife hates it. Keep in mind, I’m almost 40 so I’m older and even small things gives me headaches. Lol. Driving at higher rpms, drone goes away. Other than that, it’s been super reliable.

I have put it through lots of high rpm usage but nothing dangerous for the engine, internet suggests the piston rings wear down over time and let tiny amounts of oil burn in the gaps. IMO…It’s not about saving fuel. Even if the fuel is the same…that’s not accurate cause when you have a stage 2 tune, you will floor the crap outta the car more often and drive in higher rpms to have more fun and that requires the car to drink more then regular amount of fuel.

    I’ve had my A4 for 1.5 years, put around 14k miles on it from buying it at 52k miles but I was wondering if you’ve ran into any of the reliability issues many B8-8.5 owners have, mainly in piston ring wear causing an increased oil burn rate. I’m burning around a quart per 600 miles, and every time I floor it even to around 5k rpm I smell burning oil, causing me to have to spend a lot of money between oil changes. I was contemplating the worth of upgrading the car if these issues continue, or if it would be better to invest in something more reliable. • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Před rokem +1

      Wrong. 1 case doesn’t mean anything. Most dealers operate on their own and are empowered to grant coverage or not on modified cars. Some don’t care about tunes but some will care. I know many Audi techs that say they warranty Audi all the time as long as the tune is not the specific reason for causing issues on the car. Again, it’s up to the dealership to decide if they will warranty your car or not. And that’s with any brand, not just Audi. That’s why I said it’s better to check with the dealer than assume 100% it’s covered, or 100% it’s not covered. Every car owner is responsible for their own actions on their car. You can’t tell them it’s not covered and you can’t tell them it’s covered cause you’re not the dealership.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Před rokem +1

      A tune is not a small intervention. It's changing the way the car runs and operates which requires alot of system tests during the tuning process. It's like doing brain surgery but for a car.
      The battery charger is a safety measure as a backup just in case the voltage in the battery drops during tuning. Every tune requires the car to have enough power when you are writing to the car's computer. If anything should happen while you are writing a tune and the power randomly drops, you're screwed and your car can be completely screwed up and costing you thousands to fix all because a battery charger wasn't used.
      Batteries randomly fail all the time. The power from the wall and a battery charger is less likely to fail. I would NOT take the risk of tuning a car running purely of just the car's battery.

      @@TheFlexxGarage well that's why I ask if this is reversible cuz I get free oil change pretty much everything covered and with only 68k miles it should be good for a while like I said my biggest question I don't know if you know or not is if I reverse to stock would they find out ?

      And that’s why i said if you are concerned, don’t do it. Any change to the ecu can be tracked even if reversed. That’s why I won’t tune my R8. I have an expensive warranty and no way I’m losing coverage. I don’t care what a shop says or what CZcams says. Any mods reversible or not will make a warranty company question your car.

      It’s not required but you’re not getting get the most power gains outta the stage 2 tune (regular or crackle) if you don’t have a higher performance intercooler.
      However, the must-have in order to do a stage 2 tune is a high flow downpipe.

    Bro, I have a question, how do you solve the oil burning that those cars have?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Před 7 měsíci

      Doesn’t happen on my car. Happens mainly on the prefacelift B8. I don’t know what to do. There’s plenty of stuff in the Audi forums on it.
