The fact that Obi-Wan suffered so much both in canon and legends really makes you admired how he did not weaken and turned to the dark side. Quoting him, he was doomed to an eternal sadness.

Obi-Wan lost Qui-Gon Jin, his master and father figure, Satine, his lover, was murdered infront of his eyes, Anakin, whom he considered a little brother, turned to the dark side and he was forced to defeat him in a cruel manner and he lost the Jedi Order.
Any other person would have gone insane.

Why are you acting like the dark side is evil or wrong embracing your emotions are fine and being selfish is fine to you can also not become a sith Lord and still have emotions
Obi Wan is Anikan/Darth Vaders foil. He's supposed to show that Anikan didn't HAVE to do what he did and embrace the dark side.
Where anikan is naturally talented and powerful with the force, obi wan isnt. He got where he is through hard work
Where Anikan was brash and aggressive obi wan was more subdued and defensive
Where anikan fought against his personal demons and the losses of those he loved, eventually succumbing to evil because of it, obi wan dealt with the losses of those he cared about with grace.
It still hurt him but he did not let it rule him
Without Obi Wan, luke probably would have fallen to the dark side. Luke modeled his behavior and willingness to accept personal suffering from Obi Wan.
Qui Gon raised a very good jedi. Obi is the model of what a jedi should be. The yoda era jedi order was so far gone, and so disconnected from the force that they didn't realize the errors of their ways. Qui Gon taught obi wan you can still commit heretical actions and have heretical feelings without letting them rule you. Luke learned that and rebuilt a much better new jedi order (mickeys fanfiction movies ignored)
I mean seriously Legends Kenobi and Ventress were pretty much flirting with each other in most of their encounters. Cough, Ventress putting Kenobi in that "dungeon" of hers.

There’s also the first clone casualty of the Citadel arc in Season 3 of TCW, Charger, who died from an electro-mine. That probably also explains why he was the only 501st redshirt in that arc.

Anakin may have been the greatest pilot of all time, but nobody ever taught him how to land. Hell, as soon as he killed Palpatine, the second Death Star crashed.

I miss the book series that explored Obi Wans time as a padawan. He went through a lot, and watched a lot of people he loved die or loves he sacrificed to stay a jedi (including adi galias padawan), while he was young and even more as he was older and still went on to stay loyal to the light side. Everyone likes to say Anakin suffered, but... He had a decent life as a slave. He lost his mother, yes, but Obi Wan lost his father figure when Qui Gon died. He lost friends and fought a war, but so did Obi Wan, and Obi Wan fought more than one. Obi Wan lost so much in his 37 years (by revenge of the sith) that he felt he was doomed to a life of sadness and sacrifice, but still chose to continue to live a life on the light side.
With this you see how Obi-Wan Kenobi was in reality the best Jedi, if you’re good you don’t hate or despise your enemy you only pity them and want to help them.

In fairness, Anakin destroyed most of the Jedi Order and killed Younglings. Ventress just led droids on various conquests.

I like the connection between grievous and ventress both being planetary scale war lords before dooku roped them with the sepratists. The idea the republic was under an air of ignorance while these monsters waited for just the right leg up.

This is one of the best comic stories from the expanded universe i have read ventress is one of my favorite characters from star wars
I always felt Asajj and Maul were given a bad break. I think that all the people of Dothmier were. Yes, they are naturally in tuned to the Dark Side, but I've seen real love and affection from Mother Talzon. Maul made atonement and expressed regret to Obi-wan. Asajj often traded what felt like friendly jibes with Ahsoka and her boys. She would even risk her safety and freedom to help Ahsoka when she was accused of terrorism. Asajj would eventually become a Jedi, giving her life to save another. Just because they are dark side users doesn't mean they are evil.
In several ways I prefer the Darkhorse comics to the Animatrd Series, this story is one of them. A pity they could not both be canon together.
Mortis and Umbara are great examples of the animated series
@@ryanmoore6259 Those are good examples. I just really love tge EU; Genndy's short vignettes, Darkhirse comics, Books, and most definitely the Video Games. Grew up on those so they have a special place in my life.
@@ryanmoore6259 Umbara was a good arc, but it will never replace Jabiim for me. I like how the animated series puts a ton of emphasis on the clones though, who were previously seen as nothing more than droids (even in the Darkhorse comics).
The fact that we're still debating which representation of the Clone Wars is superior is a testament to the quality of both the multimedia project and the CGI television series.

Oh cool, you picked one of my suggestions for talking about a Battle. I suggested Boz Pity back in your video about the Battle of Praesitlyn and how it was what prompted Anakin to Jedi Knight.
And once again with how much you told about this battle you prove yourself to be the Grand Master of Star Wars lore here on CZcams and people like me just mere Padawns if not Younglings. I wrote a fanfic on this battle, but I only looked up info about the battle itself, as such I didn't know it was the very first battle of the Outer Rim Sieges or the history of the planet itself, I didn't even mention how the battlefield was littered with bones because I didn't know that either, but now I wish I did because then I could have had Force Users throw bones with the Force during fights that would be cool.
You are truly the greatest Star Wars CZcamsr there is, Geetsly. Keep up the great work. Long live the Geetsly Republic!

I somehow appreciate the mental image of Mace Windu getting fed up with General Grievouses rampaging antics and (presumably because he was also getting tired of these mfdroids on this mfbattlefield) using the Force to telekinetically slam down that ST-AP (which did as its name implies) at him to just utterly incapacitate him. Mace Windu might be a bit of a cold jerk at the best of times: But he has some style.
The Vaapad style makes a Jedi capable of great feats of violence! ^-^

Battle of Salucami. As an Arma 3 zeus hell bent on recreating the clone wars accurately for the 91st seeing the first and second battle would be cool. If anything do the entire history of clone legions.
Mace Windu did everything to end Grievous, from crushing his chest cavity to "going for the head" with a droid STAP.
When the writers didn't know what to do with the most badass clone in star wars history, they literally sent him into the void...

I mean, Obi Wan saw Anakin slaughter multiple Jedi, as well as Children. He also witnessed Anakin remorselessly choking Padme to near death, and then blame it on Obi Wan. He also spent their entire fight on the defensive.
It was clear to Obi Wan that Anakin was no longer the person he knew.
